For Town Hall Discussion

Hello everyone.

I wanted to make this thread in hopes that TFP Devs will see it for tonight's Town Hall stream. A centralized location for people to leave their feedback/opinions for them, whether that is good or bad. So to help lead things off, I will start with my feedback/opinion of 7D2D.

I love this game and have been playing it on and off since September of 2018 and have been enjoying the game even more since the recent 1.0 update. While there are things that have changed in the 2.0 update that I didn't like at first, I have since found fun in the game regardless. The main offender for the 2.0 update that I didn't like was not the storms or biome progression, or even the biome badges, but instead the armor itself. When my friends first asked me to hop on their private server and was telling me about the update, I was getting excited and pumped to play. Then I just had to ask them about the armor, "Does this mean the gas mask will actually prevent radiation poisoning, or at least prolong it?" The answer to that was a fat NO, the solution to the problem was a smoothie instead. (I don't remember learning about smoothies that prevent smoke inhalation in real life, if anyone has a recipe for one please send it to me.)

The current biome badges in the game are OP, once you get them the game reverts to it's open-world gameplay with the added annoyance of the occasional storm, and even the storms aren't as terrifying as I feel like they should be. If anything the biome badges should increase your survivability in the respective biomes, showing mastery or experience, rather than just turning you into a god that no longer needs to worry about anything without wearing the proper PPE (Personal Protection Equipment.) It wouldn't be a bad idea to have the biome badges increase the amount of time that you can survive in the individual biomes and then have the storms cut that survival rate down. Have the storms immediately start damage for those without the badges and give those with the badges the storm timer before damage sets in.

One thing that I, personally, have been enjoying in the new 2.0 update has been the "Perk Updates & Rebalance." The move of several perks into a new category called "General" has been a blessing, I never understood why armor would be locked behind a certain aspect. Placing "Master Chef", "Lucky Looter", "Lock Picking", and "Living off the Land" was also a good idea, as I see those perks more as an "experience" style type of thing. Which that brings me to the one change about the "General" perks that I wish they could/would make, which is to have it increase through use and experience, rather than with skill points. Making it so it's one less thing that people need to spend skill points on, so they can focus on the more important perks for their builds.

I want those that leave a message/reply to outline the good, the bad, and the ugly. In any order you wish, I just ask that you at least talk about one aspect of the recent updates that you found good, or fun. Because I, personally, do not think that these recent updates entirely ruined the game. It the Devs can take the time to give us a stream to talk with their community, then we can take the time to organize our thoughts for them.
