PC Food woes in alpha 17

I’d love to hear an explanation from the pimps of why they thought it was a good idea to choke the supply of food and simultaneously increase the requirement for food all at one go?
More food needed

- to repair max stamina damage (or just just have a boring game because you can’t do anything)

Less food supply

- zombies no longer drop loot which could from time to time include food

- no farming until level 20 (unless you get lucky and find a hoe or find one for sale)
I have had literally zero problems feeding three people. And we pretty much travel in a pack, so it's not like we're spreading out to find separate supplies

Killing animals easily satisfies the need for food. Take a level or 2 of huntsman and you'll be stunned how much meat a deer or wolf can give. We have been eating bacon and eggs constantly since day 3 or so when I could take a couple levels of cooking.

Also, most buried treasure quests are loaded with canned food.

And with level 3 cooking, you can make canned food out of literally garbage (rotten meat, bones and fat.)

And I haven't even started a farm yet. In aA16 we had real sustainability problems until I started farming. Not now.

There's no reason at all to have food problems in this alpha.

starting a farm for cotton isn't a bad idea, considering bandages are the only practical way to restore max health.
it's a lot slower to ramp up a farm now without extensive perk investment, so I'd still prioritize getting some crops going on week 2, even if it's only cotton and potatoes. They're enough to live by with only one skill point, and easy enough to rack up enough seeds to supplement your diet and grow the plot out.

I'm poking through the XML files.. is cornbread really as garbage as it looks?
Yer first starting out A17 I was playing A16 reckless style, burned through cloth like a bonfire lol.

I'm definitely keeping random seeds now instead of throwing them away.

Yer cornbread took a hit, practically useless, corn on the cob slightly better in emergencies.

What line is this exactly? What's it under?

Nevermind I just found it. Thanks for the tip though!
Yeah this should be vanilla.

Just to prove I could do it, I made cornbread at the beach.

Was there with my family and two of my kids play 7DTD as well so it was fun.

While I did, in fact, break my jar because I waited too long, my mother did it just fine.

She's an old school Croatian who grew up poor.

She even knows how to fish with flour, sugar, a paperclip, and a piece of string. [No kidding.. it's hysterical!]

Anyway..... yes you CAN cook with glass jars and get the jars back.

At the very least, TFP could have a probability based on your Cooking Skill.... or Croatian background. [Either works.]

That's good to know, interesting perk.

But lvl3?....uh oh level gate here we go :)
