In some Poi's I found files with the .pille extension
What are they for?
Are they essential?
Thanks
These files, this extension, comes from Pille' POI Editor, which went out of support around A19-A20. Not needed anymore, no harm to delete. Just means you are using very old POI versions from either PEP or CompoPack, we all used Pille's editor back then to make global changes to POIs to stay current with Vanilla block updates, which has always been a big issue for any POI collection.
In this case the name tells you this one came out of an early version of PEP, which Khaine and I started in V1. Zyncosa is a modder/POI maker active around A17-A18, and is my personal all time favorite POI maker.
I discovered his work when I first started making maps at Ravenhearst and have always loved the uniqueness of his overall collection. I'm not sure if Compo Pack carried his POIs those years or no, I discovered them through the team at RH, and it took me years to track the entire collection down due to first the names being in German, then translated by several others, then split up, and now back together in PEP.
Zyncosa gave us permissions to edit and keep these current, and Ive kept his entire collection, (or at least what Ive found overall lol) current and included in the PEP set. The majority of these are parked in seperate folders in a non RWG xml state, as they are old and not up to par for use in RWG for a number of reasons. The plan is still to get them all remastered with new blocks and themes as I go. There are still some real hidden gems in the set.
No, they are not specific to Darkness Falls, you can get a newer copy of these from the V1 version of PEP on Nexus. I tend to keep PEP updates in step with DF updates, so no V2 at the moment but the V3 update will have a lot of new POIs including 150x tile lakes and swamps along with some new POIs and remastered older ones.
