So, ive listened to and watched a bunch of streamers and content farmers have an opinion and I have to say... I can agree with alot of whats being said but not for the same reasons.
1. Early Gamestate
I think the early gamestate is great in terms of loot found, struggle to get moving and so forth. Genuinely, I think the early game is in a very good spot now and dont have alot to speak about short of this.
2. Biome Badges and Freedom to engage
In a game that has, since inception been about open world exploration and survival, one of my biggest gripes is biome badge progression. I hate how this FEELS.
Id like to suggest biome badges be reworked in the following wise;
Badges can be got in any order.
The only thing biome badges do is make you 'immune' to the storms in so much as you can take cover in the biome.
I explicitly want to be able to enter biomes, without badges and 'potions' but only till the next storm when I must leave till potion/badge.
Remove loot bonus from badges and revert to biome-based bonus'.
3. Survival is 'easier'
I think the main point here is that the temperature system should come back.
Id like to suggest the following;
Make Debuff Tier 1, 2, 3 and 4.
Debuff tier 1 and 2 can happen during basic storms these are basic debuffs from being too hot/cold (Thursty, Hungry increased rate) and should be triggerable by generic storms like lightning, rain, snow, ect.
Tier 3 is only triggered by severe storms in the non-basic biomes.
Tier 4+ is caused by the current in-game storms and thus provides a reason to get biome badge but doesnt require it.
The unique storms should stay as is but with reduced frequency and duration. (About 2-3m for basic, 3-6 for big.)
-=Add consumables for weather resistance (Like immune to T1 storms for 3-5mins.)=-
4. Endgame Changes (New Zombie Templates)
The new zombie types are amazing for the endgame and I think this is one of the most beneficial changes made. The blue zombies make me afraid of the undead in a way ive not felt since A16 and the addition of the Orange templates over just spawning demolishers is a breath of fresh air. Lootbag changes are also really nice and reward risky gameplay which are all healthy changes for the game and kudos on this part.
5. Perks are too OP in some cases
Some perks are just wayyyy too good now. I get fun is key but we must keep progression in mind. Books and Magazines are A-OK cuz you can still mitigate acceleration via parts and components but things that sluff damage to the point of negation is a bit much. Likewise, ammo is now a bit TOO prevelant in various income exploits and brass exploits as to become no factor, even early game.
Bleed being more plentiful is nice but itd be even greater if there was stack-a-bility across them from individual sources.
Stun Baton didnt need buffs. (What were you thinking? LOL.)
Fun is good but lets keep a mind on balance too, Pimps. Fortunately, balancing with numbers isnt a very difficult process relative to coming up with new ideas for em and I think with time, perks will get more balanced.
Im greatly looking forward to bandits. Please get them ready for 2.0. They have the potential to utterly change the game meta and I cannot wait to see how they are implemented. Please, allow me to get 1shot headshot next to my base by a roaming sniper. x'D
I know some of the changes have been requested already and the pimps are moving to address them so keep at it and I hope this feedback is useful.
Keep up the development. I still love this game.
