PC Fallout 76

Yep I am pretty interested to see where they take things. I am sort of apprehensive about trying to combine the fallout world with that type of gameplay though... If that is true, Bethesda better damn well nail it.

This is my concern. Elder Scrolls Online sucked, and rumor has it this one is going to be online (although that is not for certain).

 
Well the most credible rumour is that its a survival game like Rust. A guy posted on 4 chan 6 months ago that the next bethesda game would be Vault 76 and it would a Rust clone.

Considering the name and info was just released yesterday he's accurate so far.

 
I was hoping that the online aspect would be more like it is in Borderlands series. THAT would be match made in all the heavens... :)

 
People have been wanting to bring a friend along in either Fallout or Elder Scrolls for a long time but it has always been a single player game. Personally, I've always thought they should have the option of being a co-op game. These are only rumors so far, I think a wait-and-see attitude is the best option, especially for fans.

Now, Elder Scrolls is way overdue for a sequel and I can only surmise it is because of the success of ESO. I have been playing ESO every night for well over a year now. I gave it a chance and I do enjoy it, but it just doesn't have the single player feel to it, unfortunately. Still, it is a lot of fun to play, especially with friends. If you are playing it single player style, it isn't that fun and quite difficult at times.

Usually someone ask me if ESO is this bad I say: "Well, i've on Beta test, spend 15 minutes in the game, 10 minutes trying to figure out how to create my character, 5 minutes playing and then I unnistalled".

For some reason (probably because I was hoping that Bethesda announcement will be related to Elder Scrolls) I have "idealized" a Elder Scrolls Battle Royale.... Just imagine, a dragonborn flying on a dragon to a specific point of the map, trying to find a few weapons/staffs/armor on Tamriel to fight the other dragonborns.

What a disaster....

I played closed Alpha, and it wasn't any different.

 
I heard that pete hines was actually murdered and that he died at the hands of madmole 2 years ago, and that fallout 76 is an online survival game kinda like rust, but not rust. Rumor has it the part they lied about was the name. This is not called fallout 76, its called 7 days to die.. ands its ready for gold release!

With the few snippets of actual info that have been released it's still way too early for final judgement. =)

You can supposedly play single player but online works on some sort of Bethesda server... cloud... thing.

So I'd guess that in multiplayer modding is a total non-starter.

Now one of the questions is if SP is "only" playing alone online under the same constraints. In that case it wouldn't be what people understand to be "single player" where you can mod, cheat, and fool around in any way you like.

Maybe they're trying to start the outrage early so it has time to subside until any actual release? =P

What I took from the whole thing is that it is totally online. He said you could play it single player style, but you can also do that in ESO. 7 Days can be played single player on a pvp server, which is what I prefer since it adds risk, but ESO pvp is totally separate. Maybe they will have some sort of mechanic like that?

It does look like a survival shooter along the lines of Rust and Ark but with a more primitive building system. The cool thing is, if you get some friends to take down a nuclear missile site, you can nuke an area on the map. This might include the base you built as a single player... ;-)

 
Any money says there will be either a micro-transactions mechanic built into the game or a monthly payment to play it.

And I think the game is going to have safe zones in specific areas, like towns, but the wastelands will be a free for all if you enable PvP mode (that is, if they even allow PvE only mode as an option).

I'm not even going to try and lie to myself by saying I won't buy FO76, they've already got my money (they just don't know it yet). That said, I hope the actual experience is better than the picture I'm imagining. I hope this game doesn't turn into an army of 11 year old griefers camping the new nuke sites and constantly blowing everything to hell.
