PC Empyrion updated

Saw part of g4k's video on alpha 8. It looks alot cooler than i remember it. I particuarlly like that they reintegrated procedural terrain generation. I love how their map of planets is like. Im seriously thinking of picking this up now. Is this game shaping up to be what no mans sky was supposed to be? :p

Im so curious what differences and similarities there are with how 7d2d implemented their RWG. Their terrain and POI editor look promising as well.

Maybe there might be some nice takeways. @Kinyajuu. :)

It looks like the devs incorporate player made POIs into their game. Maybe TFPs will allow that at some point. :)

Is there still the barrier to the north and south and a green transition when reaching the international date line?

Sounds like it was removed?

2. Removal of Red and Green Wall:

We finally removed the red pole colliders and the green wall so that you can now cross the poles and you do not have to be afraid anymore when you cross the green wall.

Thank goodness! I hated those walls. :)

Well the reason for those walls was because the map wasn't actually round. It was just one big flat map. The red kept you from going off the sides, and the green joined the East and West ends together. (Green wall was basically a teleport.)

So my question is this: Did they just remove the visual indicator of a teleport but leave the actual teleport in or did they remove the teleport as well? In other words, are players actually playing on the surface of a sphere, a cylinder, or a plane? I'm really curious!

I have played it and found that the green wall is gone and travel is fluid., which is great. I don't even notice anything as I travel around the planet. You don't feel like you were teleported or anything like that.

The only way I found were it was still there at all was a bug I found.

This bug that I found will not allow you to harvest some things were the green wall (used to be). You will find that it happens right along the same area were a green wall would be. Traveling either due north or south of this narrow area.

The Red wall on the other hand is still a mess. All worlds have a flat top were the red wall (used to be). It is completely flat, opened and barren of any animals or resources. You can't even build there. All you can do is walk around. But at least players don't have to worry about running into it all the time.
