PC Easy way to disable sleeper respawns?

A couple RL days ago, I returned to my horde night base built in a POI and found it overrun with zombies. I wasted half a day clearing it out again, and then died in the middle of the night because there was one zombie I missed. Could have prepared better, couold have been more cautious, yadda yadda yadda, but it's just annoying to take the threat of magically respawning zombies seriously. Is there any number I can change in the XML or something so that it takes something like thirty days for the sleeper volumes to reset?

Yeah the bedroll should prevent that, but I like putting down a bedroll wherever I'm staying for the night, not my main base, and it's nice to have safehouses scattered throughout the map.

 
I don't think it's possible. It would be solved if TFP allowed us in the setting to prevent zombies respawn in POI. A lot of solo or coop players select "no loot respawn" and, IMHO, both would fit very well together. And what a sensation of accomplishment when you would have eradicated all the z of a town ;)

 
Sleepers can be completely eliminated via the .xml files. The developers should add an option that has them never respond after a building has been first explored, or at least a certain time like with loot. Actually, there might be a respawn time in .xml.

I always thought this would be neat, being able to clear a town or city.

 
Use your land claim block for your base so you can use your bed on the go while looting, that's how I do it.

I do agree sleepers should respawn with loot. That would be really cool.

 
We tried the settings in the xml, but none of them ever changes the spawn reset of 5 days.

We really wanted to try with a fully no-respawning world, but we can't make it work.

I'm a noob at modding this game but while snooping around in the poi editor I noticed sleeper stuff in there, maybe there's something in there?

I'd start a thread in the modding section, folks over there are nice and helped me out with a stamina issue I had. 🙂

Yes, I've often thought it would be nice to play a game with HUGE!!! numbers of zombies in it initially, but with zero zombie respawns. No loot respawn, no zombie respawn, what's cleared is forever cleared (short of a zombie wandering around).

It would have a nice end-game feel to it to, eventually, say, clearing the entire map.

This would be nice end game content... clear the Zeds and than protect the town from invading hordes. Maybe some larger scale defenses builds vs. defend the horde. You fail the task and Zeds re-infests the town again and you need to clear them out the following week ( there could be more levels of infestation happening - just an early idea for TFP ).

But as for OP yes it is annoying - I m staying at the POI and have to clear all the neighbouring POI's at least once a week. Ofc everytime i go in there Z's are stronger and stronger. So now my neighbours are mostly Mr. and Mrs. Irradiated Feral. :) and ofc vultures on the roof tops, which are good substitute for chicken coops ( not in vanilla ), for feathers :)

That would be awesome for single player I think. On multiplayer you would get some schoolkid go in and clear the whole map while the rest of us are working, so when we do get to play, we'd be spend our whole time trying to look for a zombie to kill or something to scavenge, in vain.

 
Could have a trader quest titled "clear the city", and when you finish, the city becomes the new settlement.
