I've been playing the game for years and I've found running zombies at night to be overkill. I end up just bunkering down in my base, waiting for morning. To me, a game mechanic that incentivizes "waiting" isn't very good. I tried turning off zombie running, but I found it made the game too boring.Glad you like it, we need some fear at night.
When Alpha 18 experimental dropped, I got tired of sitting out the night. I turned off zombie running just at nights. I left feral running and blood moon running on.
This now turns out to be my sweet spot. I simply love the ferals because they catch me by surprise and it's terrifying because I don't expect them. And the zombies stumbling forward adds a whole new dimension to combat. Fighting indoors is brutal now.
I also found I love exploring all the revamped POIs at night now. I was going through the hospital and it was absolutely terrifying. Walking through all the body bags, hearing the grunts of aggrod zombies, having zombies break out of closets - it's a whole new game for me.
