It can be depending on where you are, but for some players who enjoy camping out in the middle of nowhere where loot containers (and even trash piles) are scarce, it's an unnecessary gate for progress. 7d2d has gone through lots of iterations of gating, but it really soars when all playstyles are encouraged. Not needing tape for a splint meant people could wander and make splints on the go as needed rather than search for a very unique item. A bellow is just a single item, but A., if youre no where near loot containers you'll never find it, and B. it represents the bigger picture that unnecessary gating just to make things harder doesnt necessarily make it better.
