Drill and screamers

your drill, I will use it more because of the spawn of screamers when harvesting deep in a hole, especially to spawn two screamers, thank you very much to the trash the drill

 
The drill always provided a lot of heat. For this reason I always use a pickaxe. Yes, and it is too noisy, it’s unpleasant to find out that there is a crowd of zombies nearby when they hit you in the back of the head.

 
the problem is not the noise but rather the heat system which makes two screamers appear therefore useless for the harvest

 
Crouching while mining helps to reduce the heat you generate a bit, but I never tried it while using an Auger before. With that said, the Auger is definitely the most efficient way to mine lots of stone and ores fast, but I've always preferred using a Steel Pickaxe instead due to it not generating as much heat and noise.

 
also, IIRC the drill only produces heat on start up, so if you don't start/stop the dill often you are safer from the screamers than if you start/stop all the time.

 
I also make sure I have turrets above my mine shaft if I am using the auger.  If I am too deep in the hole for the junk turret, I will setup a generator and an auto turret to watch over the area.  Addresses any screamers showing up to bother me while I am mining.
