DLX Weapons Fix - [V1.0 - V1.1] - Aligned Sights, Aiming directly from the SCOPE and MORE!

For the next version I have added the ability to adjust the reticle blur and the sway while moving and aiming

(as mentioned by toni_c).

Guys, unfortunately the time I can dedicate to the development of my mod is now limited and I can no longer dedicate myself to it full time, as much as I would like to do so.

In the last few weeks I have made my mod compatible with the IZY Weapon Mod Pack, as this is a very popular weapon pack I thought it would be nice to be able to install my scopes on these weapons.

That mod currently has 24 weapons and I have been researching the correct parameters to install my scopes on them.

In the meantime, I have also updated the functionality that allows my mod to be used on weapons from other mods.

Since researching the correct parameters takes a lot of time I thought it would be nice, after the release of a proper tutorial and manual, to give all of you the opportunity to test the weapons from other mods by yourself and publish the configuration files!

It's an idea I'm thinking about, because testing every single weapon is really time-consuming!

The idea is also to develop a set of utilities to help you find the right parameters to put in the xml file.

As for the different aesthetics of the scopes depending on the quality of the weapons, that is still in my plans, but it will be a long process because I will have to change the way my mod works deeply again, and I don't know if this thing can also be used for weapons from other mods.

I will try to release a short guide on the functionality of the various parameters of the XML configuration file of the Mod.
I have not done this before because I have changed these parameters and their functionality once again and it did not seem useful to release a guide and then change it completely for the next version.

I hope you can appreciate what I am doing!

Yes! We deeply appreciate your work. As for now I think finishing the vanilla weapons ironsights, scopes and visible mods are most desired by community. Your original mod was one thing that returned me to Alpha 20. Ability to see through ironsight that did not make my eyes hurt)). Features like weapon rise on shooting, sway on moving around and running were met with criticism or approval depending on gameplay prefences. (For me sway effect was not preffered feature, as well as gun rising. Gun running position is interesting feature). For future the very feature I will personally appreciate will be ability to customize vanilla guns in Metro Exodus style. Sort of using barrel extending for AK-47 to turn it into RPK configuration of barrel and gas piston (I saw that you added seamless .44 Revolver barrel extention that ssures me that it is more than possible to

add similar feature to other guns) or machinegun config barrel at least. Also new version of stocks and grips will be a good addition to weapon list. (Sort of lightweight stock to add AK-74 folding stock to Kalash, or underfold AKS, same stock on M16 will add modern day triangle shaped light gun stock; Heavy stock adds RPK or PKM stock to AK and heavy solid plastic stock of SR-25 to M16 and etc. Mods can be universal, like folding stock mod from vanilla that will add some of real world versions parts for guns. Handmade skeletal AK stocks like the ones I sent you in privat messages. This will add parts variability and conversability of guns. Long barrel semiauto M4 with heavy stock and short 20 round magazine as improvised DMR, since developers cut Military AR sniper rifle since Alpha 20. AK with SVD Sniper Stock and long barrel with 15 rounds magazine as precursor of T3 sniper and etc.) I know it is quite a work to add all this features, but I appreciate all the work you did so far and I wish to see at least some of these features in the future. It will be a game changer! In the mean time we will look forward to planned updates tht you make for your mod.

P.S. Thank you again for dedicating your personal time for this mod so we all can enjoy it!

Also I will kindly ask you to renew, if possible video reports of new features and changes that your mod add to the game. It was nice touch when you added reports on new guns in 2022-23. Now with new features it will work as fast informative overview of changes, plus it will attract new players.)

Hello Novus25 and thanks for your valuable suggestions!

I imagined that features like scope and visible weapon mods would be some of the things users want most, and I already have some ideas for a more detailed weapon customisation.

I think I got the point of what you meant, also because I played the whole Metro saga years ago and always admired the cleverness of those weapons.

I was thinking of a kind of "modular" assembly of weapons, where it is possible to customise components such as barrels, magazines, sliders, grips, etc., although it will be a lot of work and I will have to do a lot of testing to see if everything is at least feasible.

One problem, for example, concerns the positioning of the player's hands and the animations, and I have not yet found a way to modify them to my liking.

For example, I would like to be able to create an extended magazine and a stock for the pistol, but unless I could also modify the various animations of the player's hand, the components would clip with the player's hands.

Other features I would like to add to my mod include a custom recoil system, an improved and more dynamic movement system, and improved scopes and reflexes.

I totally agree with your last tip!

It's time to make some videos showing the benefits of my mod. I never found the right time because I was always adding and changing stuff haha.

Unfortunately, I will be out of town for the next few weeks and will not be able to dedicate myself to the development of the mod.

Before I leave (tomorrow 👀) I will release a new update of my mod to make it fully compatible with the IZY Weapon Mod Pack.

I have also written a quick guide about the various parameters in the XML configuration file.

So you will see a new update soon!

HEY GUYS! TIME FOR A NEW UPDATE! 🔥
(Yes, it's me, this is just a secondary account I'm using for the moment!)

In this new version, 4.21.0, I've updated the mod's ability to work with weapons from other mods and made it fully compatible with IZY-All in One Gun Pack v.3.1!

I've also written a quick guide on how to use all the different parameters in the XML configuration file!
You'll find everything in the
RAR archive.

For those who want to, I've also included the steps to remove compatibility with a specific weapon from the mod.

Compatibility with the IZY mod is already preset, but it can be removed with a patch that you'll find inside the RAR archive (you'll find a ReadMe text that guides you on how to install this patch).

At the moment I've only found these two small bugs:

  • With the Mosin Nagant and Lee Enfield rifles, at the beginning of the game, the aiming with the scopes is misaligned for some reason. To fix this, simply reinstall the scope on the weapon (just go to "Modify" in the inventory, then close).
  • If you remove the IZY compatibility with the patch, when you aim with the 4X and 8X scopes, you will see the weapon for a moment. I have yet to understand the reason for this.

I wanted to release the new version anyway because, as I said in the previous message, I will be out of town for several weeks.

HAVE FUN! 🔥

Hey Dany, many thanks for the mod update! It's been one of my staple addons for a while now but with the recent update I've been getting this issue where a massive portion of the screen turns white and blurred whenever I apply a 2x, 4x or 8x scope to any weapon. It doesn't happen with the reflex sight and I can't for the life of me figure out what's causing it. I've removed all other mods barring the harmony folder and performed a file verify on the game to make sure. If anyone can perhaps point me as to where I might be going wrong here or what might be causing it that would be greatly appreciated! Cheers all! 😃

Cosidering animations I would suggest you to join Izayo or IZY Discord server where you can consult with him about animations of guns, as IZY himself crafted animations of funs with variable magazines and other modules most notable is CAR-15 with 20 and 30 rounds mag different hand in reload animation positions. In the server that hosts numerous mod makers aside from IZY such as Escape From Tarkov gun port mod, you will also be able to communicate with other creators and people that would seek IZY advices and review of their progress in mods. There you will be able to recieve all the comments and submit your work for review maybe) So hopefully after your trip you will be able to contact other mod authors and in cooperation resolve all the difficulties with gun modules and animations compatibility. Have a nice time!

I love this mod but for v4.20 and v4.21 anytime I try to load up the mod even on a new world, the game freezes and crashes to desktop on the loading game data screen.

When 1.0 dropped I tried this mod for the first time and I loved it. I haven't played the game in few months so with the 1.2 update I had to update around 50 mods to their newest versions. The DLX and IZY mod combo update was definitely what I was looking forward to the most. But it would appear that DLX is completely incompatible with 1.2. When you get back please let us know the ETA or thoughts on a fix for 1.2 compatibility. Until then happy holidays mate !! 🙌

If anyone else has DLX working on 1.2 please let me know but I'm pretty sure it's just fully incompatible.

Not working on 1.2 here as well

This mod really does change the entire FPS experience here and I've grown to dislike playing the vanilla version.  Unfortunately it looks like the latest update broke things which is sad but expected.  This really is the direction the devs should have gone in the first place.  I really hope to see the v1.2 version of this mod.  Thank you for your hard work.  I really appreciate what you've done here.

Hey guys, glad you enjoyed the latest version of my mod!

I'm out of town right now, but I took a look at the game files on my laptop and yes, the developers entirely changed the Player's Camera mechanism and created something cryptic that I can't quite understand how it works.

When I get a chance I'll have to do some testing to understand this new mechanism and find a way to modify it to my liking.

It's a bit tedious to fix bugs and rewrite the mod from scratch again and again instead of adding new features... I had several things in mind but now everything might be compromised because of this new complex mechanism.

Let's see if I will find a way to fix it!

How do you keep only the visual upgrades of the weapons/attachments, but disable smoke/tracer/recoil?

Playing with NPCs and any time they shoot, I get smoke and tracers coming out of my weapon even though I'm not shooting and bullets are not spent.

You should download the Manual Guide provided, that explains what each value does.

I haven't tested it, but I assume u just need to set ProjectileTrail_Duration to 0 and MuzzleFireSpeedAnimation to 0 and that should do it.

or set all the trail and muzzle fire values to 0, u can edit the config file while in game and just enter scope rc in console to reload it so u can test it without reloading the game after every edit.

Where is the download for the manual guide? I can't seem to find it. Sorry, I found it.

Hey! I downgraded my game to 1.1 just to be able to use the mod but I'm getting a weird bug

Outside of the scope and when not aiming everything looks super blurry but when aiming with it everything looks defined

Lowering the Scope_Blur_Parameters to 0 in the mod config file didn't seem to fix it

Has someone encountered this problem and was able to fix it?  Thanks!

scope_blur_parameters is for background blur while aiming, just to be clear, you are saying that your screen is blurry while just holding any gun & not aiming? which is indeed weird, maybe first delete all other mods to make sure it is this one causing it.
