i notice for a long time now that the console forums are pretty much dead, theres always the same people posting.

the only forum chat going is when we get a worm dangled in front of our noses from Claire and eveyone basically freaks out on the announcement page then that conversation turns nasty.

i can only think this is like this because of the way the game is/has been handled on the forums for console.

the pc forums are a much more lively place.

ensue the flamming....

Hello.

I'm a former PC player, now I'm a console (PS4) player (for fun only).

You' re right, console players are used to play games if they like them, and to switch to other games if they don't.

They feel less "bounded" to a specific game as PC players does usually.

Also posting on forums isn't their favourite bread and butter.

They usually post their opinion of the game *once*, and don't come back until they like the patch changelog.

My personal example : I consider invisible and undisarmable landmines gamebreaking as breaking the main game objective : it's a "zombie survival crafting game", not a 3D minesweeper game. I told it once, and stopped playing the game until it is fixed.

I just got the platinum trophy for "BattleChasers : Nightwar" and I'm currently aiming for the "Conan Exiles" platinum trophy. And for another one and another one as long as 7DTD landmines are unmodified, so I currently see no need to speak again in the forums.

sad times, Conan is a wash with bugs too though isnt it.?

back to cheese i was in Essen, Germany for a a couple a months and they had some cheddder that actually smelt worse than my feet after a day out walking. tasted good though

I would also say there are most likely more PC players than console players as well. We have also lost some people who were active, like Funkinstein, and it was disappointing to see him leave due to his frustrations with some posters. I learned a lot from reading his posts when I first started playing last year.

yer i remember Funkenstein, didnt he and his mrs do youtube vids? why did he leave? does he still play 7dtd or did he give that up too ?

I know he did, that’s how I found out what a toothy was, and I hope he is still playing. He was both a PC and console player and I haven’t seen him active on that side of the forums either. I follow both forums as I love all things video games. If my memory serves me, and sometimes it doesn’t, it was from trying to help but the answers he was giving, though correct, were not what people wanted to hear. I imagine it’s the same thing SylenThunder goes through and Funk just got tired of it.

Oh he definitely does and I’ve also been following his exploits as a newly appointed mod over on the steam forums. Someone has to keep us heathens under control 😂

To be fair.....

Exactly how many people use their consoles for web browsing?

That doesn't even take into account the amount of effort required to create an account using a working email address, and then actually posting.

No offense, but really most console-centered players just aren't interested. They buy the game, they play the game, and that's pretty much the extent of it for most of them.

There are a few who visit using their phones, and always end up posting in the wrong sections because the mobile version of the forum sucks balls.

hey i dont have a pc anymore, im console only and use my phone. my point is

i remeber the console forums used to be quite bus but its gone reaaaaaaallll quite.

i don't own a computer, well i have a windows 98 full of my family photos but not one connected to the internet. i have a cord on my home phone. i cant see a smart phone screen so i never bothered.

There is a lot more people who play the pc version and like Sylen says, most console players just buy the game, play it, and thats pretty much it.

Except for the ones who like interesting convo, like myself, or the people who come on here bashing the game or whining about topics that have been talked about to death.

Ive also noticed we get a lot of "we're getting off topic" posts from the mods. I creep on the pc side from time to time & they go WAY off topic all the time and nothing gets said to them.

I guess thats a good thing for "clutter" issues but ive been posted against a few times while in the middle of interesting convo and it kinda pissed me off.

Oh well. I agree with the OP though, things are a lot quiter on our side of the forums. Ive learned a lot from people on here though & hope we dont get discouraged and abandon the forums.

yer i never understand the 'off topic' thing, isnt that what forums are for..... topics :)
Exactly!! I could see if it was pages talking of way off random stuff or the movie we just saw over the weekend or whatever but as long as its 7 days to die, should be all good.

Another thing i dont get is the language issue. Ive also been warned on this. We are all adults right? This is a rated M for mature game afterall.

Again, oh well though. It's their forums, i'm just visiting. We are for the most part all very passionate about this game and it is easy to get a lil heated and sometimes lose control of the topic at hand. I'm just glad to be here and to experience this awesome, unique game.

The reason for the language thing (or at least part of the reason) is that anyone can browse into the forum, regardless of age. In any case, why the need to fill a post with expletives? It doesn't help and frankly it's a turn off - might be why more people aren't posting.

Who is going to find this forum unless they specifically play 7dtd or are searching for it?

I dont agree with using expletitives to attack someone but if i wanna write "im getting my "butt" handed to me" replace butt with you know what, i should be able to without having a mod yell at me.

Agree more console players are playing the game and don't even know about the forums. The friends on console I play with don't even come check the forums. I tell them about something and tell them to come check it out and they never do. I end up taking screen shots and sending it to them.

It has been more dead then it used to be. But I have a feeling after the next update some of those people will come back and talk. At least for a little while. As of now most regular forum users don't have anything new to say really in my opinion. We have just about talked about everything to death. But when we get the new update it will give something fresh to talk about.
