Windows Disabling EAC causes audio issue.

Version
2.5
Platform
Windows
Hello, I've been having an issue where a fresh copy of 7 Days to Die will not give any audio when EAC is disabled. With it on, it works as it should.
I have seen an error that shows FMOD is not initializing in the logs, however the Windows and Realtek settings are matched to what it says it needs.
The audio drivers are updated to R2.83 - 08/15/2024.
Reinstalled and verified.
Restarted PC many times throughout.
Spatial sound is off.
Windows Audio Enhancement tab doesnt exist on output device settings.
No Realtek settings point to any audio enhancements.
Speakers are set to 2ch 16bit 48000hz
Removed all mods, issue persisted with EAC off, audio works when EAC is on.

Is there any file in the EAC that messes with sound that I can delete or modify to fix this issue?

Reproduction Steps
Launch 7DTD without EAC.

Hello Wild_Thing76,

According to Google search, this could be caused by corrupted EAC files, firewall/antivirus interference, or outdated game binaries.

I am curious. Have you tried reinstalling EAC to see if that makes a difference? The install files are inside the 7 Days to Die folder (%ProgramFiles(x86)%\Steam\steamapps\common\7 Days To Die\EasyAntiCheat). Alternately, you can try a clean install by deleting the EasyAntiCheat_EOS folder from program files before reinstalling.

Also, ensuring that the game is allowed through firewall and/or anti-virus and verifying files may also help if the above does not work.

Let us know if this helps.

Dollie
