died for no reason

Just finished day 70 horde on my quest to survive with no deaths in the wasteland, walking around the base the next morning everything powered off and using my axe to do repairs, next thing I know I'm dead.  Full health, about 170 I think it was really weird.   Respawned and looked around saw nothing.  The only thing I can think of is that I had recently turned off the rain (it annoys the * out of me :-), and possibly I got struck by lightning?  Is that even a thing?  Still on 19.6 version.

TBH i was looking for a reason to restart anyway, gonna crank up the difficulty to insane or whatever the highest setting is, and try again.  Although it would have been nice to have finally found a crucible lol.   No worries I could just continue anyway, because for once this one doesn't count 🙂  Just curious if this happens to others?

Struck by lightning... well, that's one way to make the wasteland risky.. :) Probably not a thing. I'm not aware of anything that should insta-kill you from 170. Maybe mines got a buff, but those are too loud to miss usually.

Likely a bug, but good luck on the next run :)

 
My only suggestion is to go through the log file and check for what caused your character to die. I've not encountered the problem, so hopefully the log file can help you!

Edit: log files can be found here for Windows  <gamefolder>/7DaysToDie_Data/output_log.txt

I think it was a glitch as well, saw nothing just red blood 🙂

As soon as it happened I opened my console and checked, and it looks like it matches the log file.  Didn't know about that tip thanks!  Here is the file, the relevant part anyway:  (I think those entries right before are me repairing concrete blocks)

Pretty sure I was near full health, around 170
