Maybe ditch the regen altogether and make tough zombies always run and have more hp. I’m not a big fan of hp bar but without it is really impossible to understan how fast the regen works and if it’s possible to even kill te zombie with your gear. You could set up the best trap, activate the best buffs but the regen could still be better the your weapon damage.Endless bullet sponge, oh joy.

Regen isn’t intuitive...
If I don't know to get the hell out after it eats 2 SMG clips or 30-ish headshot arrows, to be fair I would DESERVE to die. Just use common sense instead of compensating for a lack of it with a HP bar.

In Arizona, you don't even have to register a firearm

Arizona is the rule rather than the exception there...

There is no comprehensive national system of gun registration. In fact, federal law prohibits the use of the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) to create any system of registration of firearms or firearm owners.5

A limited system of federal firearms registration was created by the National Firearms Act, 26 U.S.C. § 5801 et seq. The National Firearms Act (NFA) was enacted in 1934 to impose an excise tax and registration requirements on a narrow category of firearms, including machine guns, short-barreled shotguns or rifles, and silencers, and these weapons must also be registered under the NFA.6

Six states and the District of Columbia require registration of some or all firearms. Hawaii and the District of Columbia require the registration of all firearms, and New York requires the registration of all handguns through its licensing law.10 Hawaii, New York, and four other states also have a registration system for certain highly dangerous firearms, such as assault weapons.

The thing is that this game is part tower defense and tower defense works best when there are a variety of enemies with abilities that force you to diversify your defenses. So regen is good because you need explosives to really be effective with them or pairing blades and electrocution or turrets and spikes to compound the amount of damage being done.
Additional zombie abilities are good if they are done with player countermeasures in mind AND current player metas that are trivializing the threats. These threats that make players have to rethink defense strategies don’t have to be introduced from the beginning but can emerge later in the game.

For example, perches and underground have been discovered to be defenses that trivialize threat of the game but the concern has been “What about new players?” Well then diggers and player placed block busters can be introduced at higher gamestages so that new players can have their easily defensible bases at first but if they can’t adapt eventually their 100% safe havens will become threatened.

Zombies that the Duke has encased in steel could shred blade traps if they get caught in them but not until later in the game once players have been able to use them successfully.

And then bandits will be another story.
Zombies incased by the Duke... I like this idea, it makes sense for the bandits to use attack zombies to take down your defenses and maybe catch a survivor unaware so that once killed off they can swoop in and take their stuff.

can we have the HB but for everyone that doesn't want it, make it optional but mandatory for bosses.
or why not introduce optional Unit frames, what ever the cursor is on, pops up the target unit frame like next to the health bar or something, also for bosses, just have a mandatory frame that pops up (all ideas showing real time health status)
The hell is a unit frame? You mean a picture of them? God no I don't need more to edit out.

Edit
Actually, now that I read your post correctly, you mean a device like the NVG, not the NVG themselves.

The point still stands though. Why not just allow players to turn it off in the XMLs if they want instead of adding a whole new item to the game? It really is the easiest and most effective solution.
The issue is that there will be a massive disadvantage in multiplayer games.

The question should be what is the most common type of weapon to find in a house in Nevada. The most common weapon is unlikely to be the best, just the best you can buy with a reasonable amount of cash.
"They're looking for a guy with a beard, AK-47 and a camo coat. That describes most of the men in Alabama."

- Rich Hall on the panel show QI
More so a hunting rifle, or a bow and less beardy only some have a beard, but keep the camo coat and add a camo John Deere baseball cap and you're 100% accurate. Don't forgot the accent either.

is 7DTD based in America? if so why don't we have M16s and AR-15s?
Because a modeler was tasked to create models for "a rifle", "a SMG" and so on. That's why we have a G3-ish sniper rifle, an unusual silenced MP5SD...

The game as "guns", not specific models and variants thereof with minuscule tactical differences.

But but but....I really want my SW Governor revolver in the game! shotgun pistol is hilarious to shoot and explodes water melons and pumpkins like Galager on crack!

But seriously...a gun system that had real life weaponry...while fun!...would just get way to cumbersome with all the different ammo types...not to mention all the different guns...not to mention all the variants of said guns...like my colt heavy barrel AR-15...there are hundreds of different AR's alone...

Not to mention that it's pointless to have 20 different assault rifles with 20 different ammo types if they all do basically the same thing, which is to shoot bullets very fast.

If they had actual differences such as damage values and such, them it would make more sense, but otherwise why bother? Better to just have one gun for each type.

Yup, useless extravaganza without adding depth at all, let modders do this stuff. ;)

So 2020 release date wasn't for real and was a joke. Cool, I was worried to death.
we are joking with it yeah. but its becouse a16 took more than a half year to come. they still need to fix bandits and add endgame. so a18 and a19 seems pretty legit. if we calculate with the known time, its around 2020. once they hit beta i assume a half year to fix things. but i worry about the spinning animals at full release too :rapture: :D

Any M16 you find will most certainly not be full auto. The M16 adopted by the military up until recently is the M16A2 and M16A4 which is a semi-auto rifle with a 3 round burst selection that almost never gets touched. They now use the M4 but still is semi-auto.
The main difference between the M16 and the AR-15 is the lack of the 3 round burst option among some other details.

(I know there are auto variants of the M16, but none of them are standard issue for any military branch that I'm aware of in the US)
feel free to correct the wiki then..lol im an aussie and dont know the various sublelties of your military. i just want my .243 back...lol loved that rifle at the range.....

So next time he uses an AK, but because he doesn't know, shoots not fast enough. Same result and frustrated player, because the zombie seems to be a bullet sponge.

The only sure way to find out at the moment is checking a wiki or asking someone. It isn't absolutely neccessary but preferable to have an in-game way to find out. HP bar is just one of many possibilities, hopefuilly they use other methods after some brainstorming.

If they are just the same there is indeed no point to having different ammo types, but the game supports damage by ammo type, thats what I have been doing so far in my mod. I have added some extra ammo types and the weapons no longer decide the damage but rather the type of ammo (and it's grade).

The system is already there for the pimps to use should they decide to add some more depth. I personally like to have a bit more variety and thus also justify the existence of a weapon by the type of bullet(s) it can fire. The hunting rifle at the moment becomes obsolete the moment you find a sniper rifle just because it shoots the same bullet less effectively. Where when it shoots a different type it becomes a (cheaper) alternative you can use.

More importantly though with other factors, will you survive the coming zombie apocalypse in your state?

original.jpg
I don't get that list. Most factors seem pro survival (except for obesity) but the lowest score (which is the sum of all factors) is supposed to be best for survival??

Also, some request i have,

Could be possible to force chung to reload it's LODs? Its quite annoying when i go far away with minibike and cliff, which was removed with auger still appears. Same thing with happen with buildings. Custom made structures could get own LOD textures too.

That's planned but we have no idea when it's being implemented.

You're assuming that everyone can mod the XMLs as easily as they pick the what they want to wear.
I think the ultimate goal for a mod-friendly game is that everyone can **install** a mod as easily as installing the game itself. Whether that happens through steam workshop or an interface similar to the server list, it will be just a click away. And isn't that planned for 7 days too? Even if it were not officially confirmed it is a safe bet that this will be in the game eventually.

So the equivalent/alternative of options are mod installs, not XML edits.
