I think a cool book would be one that documents the fall of civilization.
"At first we thought these aberrations were like the plain and simple "zombies" of pop culture lore. However, we couldn't have been more wrong. Whatever metamorphic process has changed them to bestial feral monsters has also hardened their flesh and bones and caused them to ooze or in some cases actually vomit highly acidic fluid. They can pound their way through wood, stone, and even metal as it dissolves and breaks down beneath their acid secreting fists. They are relentless in their hunger for human flesh. In that way they are what we expected of zombies but these creatures are as far above zombies as a rabid wolf is above a cocker spaniel puppy."

Then FINALLY we would have some established lore to help all the Romerophiles finally make the leap over their immersion gap and maybe stop posting to tell us what zombie-like creatures should or should not do... ;-)
Are they looking for writers to make the storys for these books then?

I like this idea.

The idea of book is cool, but can you make a Separate READ Queue, so books are not read immediately, but it take 4-5 game hour to read and process book. This way you won't get superman as you came out of bookstore, as you read and process 4 books per game day at max. it is just to simulate real life reading and stopping player to become super better with just click of button.

Hey! I resemble that remark!

Weeeell, there are people on all sides (there are more than 2) who strongly feel that their version of what a zombie is must be the right one for everyone. ;)

OK, but 7 days to die can have their own zombie story - there must be one. The cave under the huge mansion "HCO" that has GOT to be part of a story of it all surely... I guess it is hard to chose which way you are going to go with that :)

Can I just say, thanks for all the work that has gone in to a17, TFP rock!

Just mentioning, I have posted this on the bug forum but not correctly I guess. Anyway, I absolutely love this game and have been playing it for a while now. Yet ever since 17.1 came out I have been unable to play it for more then 45 minutes at a time as it freezes my pc up. No other game does this. Then I took my PC into a different room that was much colder and was able to play it without issue. So evidently this game and no other is heating up my video card. I was wondering if there was any thoughts on a fix besides buying another video card?

If 45 Minute of game play freeze your video card, then you definitely need to look to cool video card down. Some games are high on calculation some are not. You need to add additional FAN or maybe water cooling to your system. Or simply just remove the case from your PC so fresh air came in easily, provided you have clean environment around. Cleaning your PC every 3-4 month might help as well.

at worst, simple pause game for 5 minute, after 30 minute of play, and then start your play :) .

Yeah, I've been having the same issue.

If you have any software that came with the card - get it running and see if it can give you some control over the fan speed. My card was stupid enough to leave the fan on a low speed despite getting up to 90C and suffering numerous resets before I discovered the issue (seems the fan speed is software dependant, rather than built into firmware (the height of stupidity).

Now I can play with temps not exceeding 60C with the fans going at 80% of max. I get some artifacts, possibly from permanent damage done to the card (thanks, Pimps), but no more resets.

Any other game and it runs cool, with zero artifacting. It's just 7D2D that is brutal to it.

A real zombie is

* a weaker Human

*Weaker bones and skull

* not able to smash a wood door

* Walks only

* works as song as the brain is intact

* Solar driven ? (can rest very long in darkness)

* So damn infectious that one scratch or bite will kill every human

But 7D2D´s interpretation,... i can life with, mostly ^^

Huh?

-Stronger than human but slow

-Doesnt care about pain so can smash through wood ez even if bones break it doesnt care

-Driven by smell, food, living flesh, brainsss (not solar powered)

-Moves faster/ hunts at night (Sunlight slows them down, in some cases can kill them or just make them extremely lethargic)

-Travels in packs (mainly because so many ppl get turned at the same time they just end up moving together)

-Infectious if saliva or blood touches open wound.

- The 1 I agree with is you gotta smash their brain.

But this is all totally subjective since "real" zombies are just as made up (imagination) as "fake" zombies.

Make it so half the player base has 7 Days to Die Blue version and the other half has 7 Days to Die Red version and the only way to get complete sets of books is to trade with people who have the other version. Gotta catch em all...
Or kill them all :strawberry: :greedy_dollars:

show me a video of you destroying blocks (wood, concrete etc) with your bare hands (let alone rotting ones lol)

I've already got my horse and soapbox out and I'm fully prepared to gallop it up the moral high ground :-)

There's a bit of a trick to it but, with a bit of practice and a lot of physics, humans can indeed smash through concrete.

I'm going to assume the zombies studied Karate at the same university where they studied structural engineering :-)

Note to self: Don't build base using thin layers of concrete with air gaps in between them.

but only if the rocks are painted red/blue/yellow and we have the chance of a player turning into a Zombie (Ditto)
