POIs like the paper mill, water works, etc should all provide a benefit if you are able to get them running with power, water, etc. Paper mill would produce papers long as you can defend and maintain it. Make them more than glorified loot containers.

anyone else get 'you feel something coming on" Illness that last forever and nothing removes it? mine in at 8H and I even died once and took 3 Antibiotics, 5 herbal Antibiotics and 2 honey. nothing removes it.
Yes, been there done that and go the t-shirt.

Mine went away after 3-4 days.

 
We are here, just getting work done for A17.2 and A18. 17.2 is entering testing phase, since I think all the big bugs are squashed. We've been putting work into reducing our garbage generation from memory allocations, so less stalls from that. Some of those changes will be in 17.2, some in 18.
Wow, working on A18 already? That was fast. Does this mean A17.2 is likely to be the last A17 version?

(Absolutely no complaints from me. :) )

 
Are you sure you have enough power (watt) to power all connected facilities? If this isn't the case, some of them don't work and, after you have redone the fence, another device may not work anymore.
That was the first thing I double checked :( Total defenses are: 6ea E-fence, 2ea Dart Traps & 2ea Blade Traps. 3 engines in generator bank for 150 output. If all traps are On then 90 draw (Darts are 10, pressure plates are 0). All 'wiring' is via Switches, so no draw there. No lights. And even though the Darts are triggered via pressure plates, each 'kind' of Trap is wired from it's own switch inside base; no shared wires except for 1 primary line from genie to those three swtiches. (so I can leave Darts on 24/7 and zero draw)



I've been having some trouble finding shale in the desert. I've dug down to the bedrock and found lots of iron, lead, rock and yes sand but no shale.
I've tried digging another tunnel that is shallow but still no shale. Any ideas?
From what I've seen looking around in gm underground with the ores visible, I'd actually try a few test holes in any ore patches I found in the desert. Didn't do an exhaustive looky-loo but it seemed like Oil Shale was always mixed with other ores. Don't recall seeing any stand alone, Shale only patches.

Also, both Oil Shale and Coal don't seem to make it up to the very top layer as often as Iron/Lead/Potassium.

First pic shows just the Ore blocks, as cubes.

Red = Iron, Blue = Lead, White = Potassium, dark brownish black = Coal, Yellow = Oil



Second shows Ores & the Sand+OreX blocks, as Pillar 100s.

 
Hss anyone else had problems where their E-fencing just stops working in A17.1?
My group has run into this problem as well. The fences would last for a while during a horde night and then just suddenly stop. After the night was over we checked them but they weren't fully destroyed and would still make the sound like they were working but didn't actually work. We thought maybe they stopped working after taking so much damage, so I replaced them with new ones for a clean slate. The next horde night I made sure to keep repairing them over the course of the night. No dice, they still stopped working eventually. It went this way for a few horde nights in a row until suddenly...they just seemed to work all night as long as I prevented them from being destroyed completely. No changes were made between them suddenly failing and working fine so no idea what caused the weird behavior.

i had high mountain peak in desert, i dug tunnel through, hit iron, went down to bedrock in same area and got shale. usually iron is in upper parts and shale or other speciffic res in lower laiers.

Yes that looks like a simple survival structure that you would easily build...in a zombie world,,,so realistic....Game is whacked that you need to build that to survive!!

How did you do that?
The pics in the spoiler are from a modlet I made. The idea came from a section within blocks.xml, look for this line;

"<!-- ore block visualisation start. Uncomment this section to make underground ores visible."

The modlet I published only shows the gravel & sand blocks that have that one piece of Ore-X in them; not the actual Ore blocks themselves. However, there's an example in it for making the actual Ore blocks visible as colored cubes, like in the second pic.

The name I came up with for the modlet is misleading, my bad. :(

and the really sad bit is that, if the E-fencing had worked, it would have been about 95% automated for a GS183 horde night.

You dont have to build a horde base like that. You can build a simple square base surrounded by rows of spikes. People build crazy bases like that because it's fun to see how are far they can push the zombie AI.

The majority of those known issues are minor and can wait while more important things can be addressed.
Minor like the glitching into everything? Disagree. It's killing most PVP servers at least...

The illness bug alone should be a high priority. Why not fix a lot of these minor issues if there so minor?
