+1 to making infection dangerous again. If I get hit by a zombie, I want it to be a Very Serious Problem. 100% chance of infection, with a small-ish possibility (maybe medium-ish for rad zombies) that it starts at Level 2 infection. DO NOT LET THEM TOUCH YOU is like Rule 1 for zombie stories.
That might be a good option for some people.

But for me, two or three rad zombies coming at me in a POI, I'll usually get hit. By then I'm usually incased in steel armor, so the damage would be mostly blunt trauma I would imagine = little chance for infection.

How about the lower your health, the less armor you wear, the greater the chance of infection?
For example, if you are geared up with full miltary gear, full health, you have a small chance at contact through a gap in the armor, flying blood, etc. (5%) On the other extreme, you just started, you broke your leg, health is at 30% (open wounds), contact with zombies have an 85% at infecting you as you are injured, and exposed.

That way, maintaining health (medicine, food, etc) becomes more of a priority than just maintaining stamina and the distant issue of starvation/dehydration. Also, the added temptation to wear the stamina-reducing heavy armor, as doing so prevents you from having to scramble for medication.
As good as that sounds, it could be the death of melee and possibly certain POI's that have some major ambush zones.

But it does sound realistic.

They could also, like most heated discussions, resolve this by tossing in an "infection chance slider" to the game setup. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Can't complain when the resolution to game balance is a slider away, right? Though, to be fair, that might not be a bad idea. Some people don't like managing infections, others want the "full zombie experience" and want that ever lasting fear to be there. No touchies!

TFP - What is the deal with Mutant Corn? we have had it for a while but no recipes for it. my thoughts:

Rage Drink - combine Animal Testosterone with Mutant Corn, Red Tea, Animal Fat, Blood bag would make a Rage drink like in iZombie turning you into a Zombie for a period of time, allowing you to attack them without being attacked, etc.

Mystical Drink - combine with grain Alc. gas, mushrooms = See any trader location within 2.5km

Bad Mojo - combine with Rotten flesh, mushrooms, bones, fat, gas = turns you into a Zombie Boar OR spawns a Zombie Boar (Gracie?)

just give us something :)

It would make more sense IMHO to randomly spawn zombie versions of the different animals, and you could only harvest rancid meat from them. But it's not a bad suggestion.
Also, how could I have forgotten: zombies could target crops if there are no better targets around.
They could also increase the time it takes for plants to grow.

Ya with the tempo I gain so much food with 3 level of cooking (can`t remember the perk name, anyway), I would be able to trade with India after 3 or 4 blood moons. Can`t complain, but its too easy given.

#spoilage

-1 on food spoilage for me.
Same for heart rate, cholestoral, muscle mass, fat percentage. Way too much micromanaging.

Cheers
Yeah there's a reason why SCUM (I think that's the name of it) is a neat concept but as far as I know all of that micromanaging drove off the number of players rather quickly. If I couldn't mod it out, I would be sadly uninstalling 7 days to never play again lol.

The world without pants

Started a new game and had no trouble finding all the stuff that I needed, everything but pants. Try as I might, I just couldn't find any. I found all sorts of other clothing, everything from footwear to hats, but no pants, dang nabbit. Not even Trader Joe sold any.

I had to go all-the-way over to old cranky Retx the Trader to get some jeans.

"Hmmh! All that gualking and that's all youu buy?!"

"Well how'd you feel having to run around in trousers made of grass? it itches!"

These chickens ingame man, I am telling you... they steal & eat everything. And now pants, from lootboxes ?

Conan Exiles has food spoilage as well...and it only really matters in the early game...after a while you STILL have so much food it doesn't even matter...so much so now you feed your Thralls AND animals...and still have a lot of food...with all the fish traps and everything else going on , never come close to running out and let the food rot in the collectors a lot...

I think you would have to have an opportunity for catastrophic failure, but then people would complain about ♥♥♥♥ RNG wiping out their food. (I mean, I think that sort of catastrophic event would be neat since the apocalypse is unpredictable, but I can see that many of the players would not.)

Seems like a few survivors are asking to merge 7DaysToDie with Project Zomboid in regards to micromanaging things like food and health. If you add food spoilage, won't that make it so you can't stack harvested items? I could see crops going from "seed" to "growing" to "ripe" to "spoiled", then back to "seed" if left alone, as crops don't stack, and they already have code that allows them to change states.

How would you do that with harvested food? Do you rework it to follow a crop model? I do NOT want PZ's level of micromanaging in 7DTD, but I would not mind a slightly more complex food system that incorporates some basic spoilage to avoid hoarding.

An untreated infection will still progress and kill you in 7 days.
In what world?

Infection spreads to level 3+ in the space of about 30 minutes on our server (1 hr days). Not sure if intentional or not but several playthroughs have been ruined from getting infected day 1 and dead before morning.

Is that a survival game?

-A

That works if modding in spoilage were as easy you think it is. Trust me its going to be WAy easier for people to mod it out if it exists than it ever could be to add it from scratch.
Look in the mods section. Modlet after modlet removing radiateds, bears, death penalty, stamina buffs etc. And one would be made for spoilage in about 3 hours I guarantee. But at least the mechanic would be there for those who choose to use it or mod it even further.
There is a mod that includes spoilage, Starvation...and it is a female dog to keep good since you require electricity to power a fridge to _minimise_ (not remove) spoilage. Sure you can use coolers and other containers, but that is almost as fast as spoiling food in your bag. On one hand, at least in A16.4, it did allow for more extra rotten flesh to generate fertiliser but once you had your garden (which also required regular water to survive and either pesticides or electrified bug zapper to keep fresh/grow) fertiliser was the only trader fodder.

Ditto...if you want that, play a mod (Starvation), Ark or Eco.

Possible drink and water bugs:

I think I found some bugs in drinks.

1. Yucca: No longer has any cooling effect.

2. Yucca: Smoothie has a cold resist of 30. It should have a heat resist of 30 and a 0 cold resist. Smoothies are cold after all.

3. Snowberry juice: No longer protects from the cold. No cold or heat resist. This even though you see this as a tip on the game's loading screen.

4. Wading through water: Player dries off instantly. Used to be that the water slowly dry's off the player. Either leaving the player cool in a hot environment or freezing to death in a cold one.

Are these known issues?
