I like to pose a question as to why I could not gain entry by going through this window, the gap looks visually big enough, I even crouched yet still could not go through that gap.
Your butt is too big? Sorry I couldn't resist ;) I've run into that too and I just say that as an explanation as I don't really know why I can't get through it

Haha, I must have an ass bigger than even Big Moma's zombie ass then !

I remember the days when we could crawl under low level walls... *sigh* :distracted:

Notice that the window inner crossbar goes into the right 2 blocks? That means the damn window is still there and all you did was remove the outer coverings on the window (the nailed up boards) which is a separate block set, i.e. the window isn't actually open.

I was going to reply to this with a paragraph or two explaining my feelings but I realized there is no point. This is EXACTLY how I feel about A17 so far.
One of, if not the single best, feeling in A16 was getting that Minibike book. Can anyone point to that "AHA! This is great!" moment in A17?
When our crafter said over teamspeak: "I can build minibikes now". Only slightly diminished by the fact that we already had bicycles by then.

No, really, the fast driveable container is just such a game changer, it wasn't important to us how we got it, it was important to have a *bike now.

And you will never get the same elation in A17 for the simple fact that what once was the single mobility-explosion called minibike is now distributed over a succession of 4 vehicles.

But who knows, I'm sure you will be able to scavenge/buy bike parts of some or all of the vehicles and when you find the last part of one (you can't craft) you might get a similar sensation.

A17.0 was not kind to scavengers, too many mods and legendary items are still missing.

Ahhh well spotted, yeahh I see what you mean now. Hmmmm that's a bit of a design flaw then for that poi.

Today was going to play and in the upper right corner say that I have a Build 240.Tried to switch to "latest experimental" or 17.1 version, but still says Build 240..What to do to get 17.1? Thanks

Did the issue with random gen get fixed? or are all the buildings still going to be radio antennas??

I am going to start a new game once that is fixed. Not sure if the recent updates fixed it.

@dcsobral makes some very good points about armor perks.

Personally I'd like to see an Armor Mobility perk under agility that reduces mobility penalty for both Light & Heavy.

And a 'reduce stamina penalty when wearing armor' perk, again affecting both light & heavy. No idea what Att Tree.

Have these two new perks only be able to reduce negatives by say half. Rest would have to come from higher lvl, armor type specific perks.

As the armor perks are now I've been quite reluctant to buy them. Just carry armor in backpack and put it on prior to pois or horde night.

And it's not unreasonable to expect that wearing one type would provide crossover benefits; use to the weight, how to adjust fit, etc.

Just smash the inner window out and then go thru, though you might wake up some zeds in the process.

perhaps table is blocking your way. it seems to be higher than window level.

Wouldn't that kind of make the armor mods pointless then?

i have experimentals opted out. when 17.1 was out, i closed steam, then logged in again and when cliked to 7d2d it updated itself

Anyone know why we get quality 6 at intelect 8 instead of 10? The text for intelect 10 says craft flawless but is the same as intelect 8.

Not sure really. I only seem to find the +cold, plaid blanket mod and the sponge rubber elbow pad mods for Light, and a couple different plate or +armor mods for Heavy.

Frankly I've used armor very little in a17. Mostly a hold over from the early experimentals I guess. Though it still seems pretty stamina & mobility punishing to wear.

other part of this is the risk vs. reward of looting. I'm getting majority of rads in pois now and it just doesn't seem worth it.

But that's just me, heh :)

I have similar situation with one of Trader in my Random world. This trader is one who has 3-4 cars inside and few rooms/warehouse style look. I am using that trader since I start playing game, but in this world this trader gate do not allow me to go in the room but not let me come out, I have to crouched and then jump while pressing forward to get out. It is like that gate little low then expected and making player stuck.

Mostly disappointed in a17....the forced direction caused by perks and skills just took the fun out of 7DtD for me and all of the people i have been playing with, since A5-6. Playing with choices is now gone...Sure you can get steel by level 35 ..but at the cost of not putting points in anything else needed to survive. Sandbox play has become forced directional play. Casual players are dismayed by the destruction zombies cause and they feel they are being forced to team up with others just to survive.
After 18 mos and this is the iteration we got...nothing works, good systems were replaced with bad or worse. Temperature still doesnt work for F*^# sake. Cmon. The all armor has heat and cold benefits was just a quick bandaid ,,that should be ripped off and thrown away. The constant dumbing down of the game is getting boring and annoying. I bought a PC for a reason, not a CONSOLE. The loss of looting zombies was probably the biggest disappointment, because now you get a bag of nothing every 1000 kills or so. So much importance has been placed on traders, that everyone just builds near them now. Just not worth it IMO. Nights are full of NOTHING and boring. Horde nights are fun if you have 2000 rounds of ammo per player and a base that can withstand the onslaught of superpowered zombies, that destroy everything. You are lucky if you can even grab a single loot drop during a horde night. They disappear half the time. I would rather have more regular zombies then irradiated and flying spider Zs. Log spikes being removed just added to the grind of gathering resource and repairing all day. Yes I know balance needs to be tweaked. How did we go from decent to terrible?

Yes , go ahead and tell me that ..its an alpha or i dont like change or im stuck in A16 ways ...whatever. The game is less fun with less choice. I am considering shutting down my server due to lack of interest from friends, that i have played with for years. Most of you will say good riddance or dont let the door hit you in the ass..blah blah blah..However its sad that after this length of time playing this game it might end with disappointment. I thought A17 would really knock my socks off after the length of time in development, but it didnt, hasnt. I hope that the next few patches might breathe life back into the game for me, but we shall wait and see. Maybe A18, 19 or beyond might get the game back on track. Hopefully the modders will get their hands on it and make a more balanced, enjoyable , playable game like they did with A16..War of the Walkers, Ravenhurst, Medieval, etc. come to mind. Only time will tell.

regards

Ouch
Totally agree mate. A17 is a massive backwards step for this game. I've been loyal, over 4000 hours, but i havent been bothered to even look at it for the last 3 weeks....it got real boring real fast...if i wanted to play a zombie shooter i would go and play a zombie shooter...

I hope the modders can fix this pile of s#%t, coz i doubt i can play it any further in its current state.

For me the game was at its best way back in A11/12 era. 13 to 15 was ok, just not great, 16 was a huge disappointment (especially the performance). They promised so much with this Alpha, but have just completely f$%^*ed the game up. >Edited to remove the ad hominem - OzHawkeye< I gave A17 about 100 hours, changed how i play, but nope, still no enjoyment. Never once did i even consider building a base, there is no need anymore.

I agree will everything Ouch says
