Heyyyyyyy, quick question folks I get pauses in game like a big stutter like once a minute ...
Probably more so when in a POI...

Its so annoying and I wonder if I can reduce or stop this issue... ?

Its not a graphical issue, I am playing comfortably over 40 fps (60+ most times).
Probably the garbage collector, since we force it to run every minute. The collector blocks the main thread and it has to run at some point. We discussed it last week and I did a few experiments, but our best option seems to be Unity 2019.1, which is supposed to have improved GC that can be set to run in the background (not make a big lag spike).

I know unity joined the dot-net committee quite a while ago and one of the things they were pushing for is a better GC system. Hopefully that's the first implementation of it. I'm looking forward to this myself, the GC in dot-net has always been as klunky as a klunky thing dipped in klunk with an extra helping of klunk on the side.

I notice this same stutter and have noticed it occurs after this line in the console: Calling Animator.GotoState on Synchronize layer

Is this the garbage collector or something else?

 
TFP will A17 be upgradable to A17.1 (stable) ? many servers are holding off on the premise that it might be supported. I see issues with that with the fixed bugs and the changes to how perks work.

So far i saw this the player must only be sure that they have no active (water) buffs. This can lead to the need to suicide the 17.0 avatar in 17.1

Saw no other issues in the forums. But i play a new singleplayer game, so not really what i look for

 
I started a new seed for 17.1 and it's the exact same layout as my as my old seed as 17. I changed the name for the new seed. How did that happen?

 
Is the Mild Anemia debuff supposed to seemingly last forever? I’ve been drinking plenty of water/red tea and eating vegetable stew but it still doesn’t go away.

They modified the chance for anemia to be cured from a 3 out of 81 chance in 17.0 to a 3 out of 801 chance in 17.1 each time your max stamina increases, so you're basically never going to see it cured from food consumption now. At least, not in until 10+ minutes have passed in most cases.

Impossibe, i guess you started accidentially the old seed
The chap may be on to something there, I watched a stream earlier and the guy was in a random world and at a city that happen kid you not, have the same cluster of POI next to one another and looked like the same city layout as the one I am in right now in my game.

I suppose cluster buildings will at some point become familiar between maps as I take it they are spawned in with specific rules to placement etc ?

The same thing has happened to us and we found that even if you have deleted the save in game the old save may still be in your saves folder.

We had to go and delete the save from the game folders to ensure the new game worked.

That is the reason that I always start a fresh named save and delete ALL the older saves during this update process.

I currently have just the one game going and it is always a different name until the stable branch is in fact stable.

 
How do you make that concrete slab you build all the stuff upon so quick?
There is a mod that adds NANO Blocks in game. All you do is have a perimeter set up...with blocks or using terrain..say a dug out hole and drop in a specific NANo block and it fills in ....really great for building but can be dangerous if you drop it in an area you dont want to....it spreads pretty fast to a certain point. Guppycur had them on his server we were building 7DtD POIs on. Forget who made it though.

I hope that when RWG gets looked at again, trader spawn is increased. Only having 4 - 5 traders max on 4K and 8K world is somewhat disheartening. I remember back in A16.4 exploring the world and finding a trader, made me happy. Also, because I now exclusively play on a multiplayer server only having 4 traders within base radius means that ammo is bought up quickly even with me going out on looting runs.

 
Basically. Paths do not span gaps. Paths are a connection of nodes. Air does not have path nodes, so you can't path air.
Why do zombies go up the stairs at all if they don't see a path across a gap at the top ? Shouldn't they go into destroy mode in such a case?

The answer is all containers..... IDk what to tell you I have many different containers that when I search them there is absolutely no loot inside. I have had cabinets, cars, trash bags, file cabinets, dressers, desks, safes,bird nests... etc.etc.

I can give you a list of all containers if that is what you are looking for? ( but I am sure you have that list already)

Seriously just play the game and I guarantee there are containers with no loot.
I can agree to this, it doesn't bother me just thought it was part of the game, the server I play on loot is set to 200+ (I don't know the exact number) but I have ran across empty containers, that haven't been searched prior to me opening.

 
Why is math so hard to understand? This is ♥♥♥♥ you learn in 1st grade. X * 0 = 0

When you loot you roll a die. If you don’t hit any items on the table then you get 0. If you hit items then you get more of them.

Can’t change fundamental mathematics lol

 
The fact is that no matter what you set the loot amount too(25%-200%) there is a certain % that they will be empty.

I said at 100% it is 1/4 empty.

so I subtracted that from the 35% to get 27%

75% of closed containers with loot set to 100 will have loot.

But of all the containers to spawn open or closed to actually be closed and have loot. is 27% and I was a bit generous with all my estimations as if I actually sat down to do the real math it would be a bit lower.

There are loot boxes that are shown open or closed like cupboards or refrigerators. If they are closed they have stuff in them 100%. I checked this just now in a test game. (But naturally this isn't proof no matter how many I test, just post a counter example if you find one)

Only containers that have no "empty" graphic (like trash heaps) can be empty. I believe you that 1/4 are empty. And probably that is intended.

The loot amount setting is probably just influencing the size of the stacks of items you find, so instead of 16 feathers at 100% you would find 8 feathers at 50%, IF you find feathers at all.
