Mainly because we didn't have enough perks to fill out another tree. INT was on the chopping block entirely (delayed until a18), and I had fight to get it in. (and do 99% of all the work myself). We might add more attributes later but we're pretty happy with the 5 we have. I do think master chef needs moved to fortitude, because all healing options are under INT right now.
I didn't like the loss of reading books/magazines to learn. In fact, I'd love more of those search and discover items. ESPECIALLY with the idea of INT and understanding of those books. If INT is < ~5 (I really haven't played the game enough yet to know how smart 5 equates to) then you can understand Hunting Animals using Traps or if you are ~10 you can understand The Science of making batteries or ~20 Dummies book on Operating on your own Brain.

I think the tree branches are great and would compliment books and magazines, maps and encrypted messages.

Really, exploring then allows you to find things that further expand your trees of skills/perks.

Thats not true, I've been optimizing the collision on shapes.
So I will give it a try. Thanks for that update.

A17Exp was unplayable if you want some details in your environment. I don't expect 4k resolution with Ultra settings to run smooth with 60 fps without drops. But I should be able to run the game with a GTX 1080 and Full HD resolution and High (not Ultra) settings with at least 50-60 constant FPS (not around 30, dropping to 15 in POIs).

If this works I will jump back in again. If not i will wait.

Its a bug as I understand it because I eat properly ingame and hunger is rare. Now my stamina scale is 1/3 black. I had 4 bacon and eggs, 4 jars of water and nothing changed.
oh, okay. I thought you were trying to link food with stamina regeneration. So I was a little confused.

Unreachable paths are when the path end does not reach where the zombie wants to go. If you make a ramp up to a platform with a gap between, that is unreachable in a sideways direction.
okay, so if the end can be reached without jumping, it is reachable. But if it can only be reached by jumping a gap at some point, it is considered unreachable. Works for me. So far I can only think of jumping gaps being able to cause these issues. Is there any other kind that would fall into this category?

Is it just me or did the out of breath sound you make while sprinting get louder this patch? If it is not just me how in the hell do I turn that down in the settings? It is annoying to say the least.....

What would you suggest?
Going back to a fully interactive world. If they insist on empty containers, make those blocks have open and close animations, with the open ones being empty. But still make them containers.

...solving their problems by removing the issue entirely is getting old.

It may be there way to help with the fps. But yeahh we need to keep to world interaction as much as possible, it's the main thing that separates this game from the other 100 one's out there.

I do not like this, doesn't make sense..

I think the Green and Red are mistakenly in Reverse..

I think same as an UX designer.
Have a happy new year you pieces of awesome survivors ;)

Btw, has anyone tried 7 days to die on Nvidia Now (game cloud service) . Any feedback ?

yes x 1000. As a WoW player (former actually) i can't tell you how confusing that setup is. I swear somewhere lives in backwards world on this team.
Red should mean I do NOT want to switch it out. Since red is universally known as stop! no! discard!
Looks like you have flannel shirt highlighted in first pic and have mouse on sweatshirt.

In second pic looks like you have sweatshirt highlighted and mouse on flannel shirt.

Highlighting the flannel shirt (6 cold) and putting mouse on sweatshirt (9 cold) it shows that the one you are mousing over is 3 better than one you have highlighted.

Highlighting the sweatshirt (9 cold) and putting mouse on flannel shirt (6 cold) shows the one you have the mouse over is 3 worse than the one you have highlighted.

Stamina is now hardly an issue anymore..

Please stop making the game too easy.. Stamina was hardly an issue, if you didn't pay attention to it in the previous iteration..

Path smoothing already uses random variation and distance checks use thresholds, so zombies are rarely moving exactly along a block center line. Hard offsets would tend to break other movement like down corridors and make falls more unpredictable to the AI. I wish my b9 changes got in, because it addresses these type of paths with more random AI behavior. I will continue to add variations as I see people exploit the AI with specific techniques.
Letting us have all the fun? Most kind of you. Thanks.

Question: Do "destroy area" also consider blocks below zombie feets?

What would you suggest?
Personally, I would give open containers a different loot list weighted towards being empty, affected by perception skill, with a radial menu option to open/close.

What would you suggest?
The main problem with the open/closed containers is that it is heavily in favor of them being open something like 65%.

So the amount of things to have loot in them is 35% and even at 100% loot they do not all have loot in them some are still empty.

I would say about 25% are empty so 75% chance to have loot in 35% of containers is I do not really know the answer off the top of my head I'm going to say subtract another 8% off the 35%....

so only loot is found in 27% of all the containers spawned in the world? is that right?..

Like I said I'm not sure.

I do know I spend an incredible amount of time tweaking the loot lists for containers and traders...

For example removing wild plants(cotton golden rod ETC..) wooden club... paint tool...leather... anything that is fairly easy to make or find yourself within only a couple of minutes of looking around you.

I lost hope on this aspect of the game. The majority of the people that play this game just want a casual minecraft game with zombies. They want to be gods with every single skill/perk and as early as possible. They want to be zombie slaying superheroes that do nothing but build massive structures as quickly as possible without worry of dying or having the structure destroyed.

Its just how it is. I agree when people say there is no wrong playstyle. Fun is subjective. Unfortunately for us, more people enjoy the game as an easy god simulator minecraft game rather than managing stamina and dealing with threats.

TFP tried to make it a challenging game. The playerbase revolted, and each and every public experimental for A17 made the game easier including this latest one. I dont blame TFP. They are a business and want to make money. The money is a minecraft game where you feel like a zombie slaying superhero. The money is NOT in a struggle to survive game.

If they cant see the poles and they move around them i can place my complete base on them
Hmm...but the issue was about Zs trying to jump onto poles as part of their path to tasty brains, wasn't it? If your base is sitting on top of the poles, regardless of AI version the Zs won't see "top of pole" as a viable path since the floor of your base is sitting on it.

So I'd think yeah, you could build a base on poles, and Zs will behave pretty much as before which is: try to find a path around/through the poles (but never over them because they are capped by your base floor) and, failing that, just call destroyAllTheThings().

Hey, so I just logged into our game and my characters water won't go up? I drank 9 bottles and the water % won't improve but it does go down and I got dehydrated but drinking doesn't shift it. I basically can't play because it kills me and I can't drink. Is that a known bug? any way of fixing it? I saw there was a mini-patch maybe something was changed?

You have to suicide to fix that, sorry.
Errr... I commited suicide twice ruining my K/D... This does not work... Any other suggestions anyone?
