The discussion says modifier for cloth are confusing. But as I understand I check total value shown in Player profile of heat and cold resist. if I get higher value after changing cloth I am good, if not I am not good. I simply ignore those red/green values as it confuse when we check other non clothing stuff.
i do it the same way. colored numbers are confusing and does not work for me. i do not use armor, unless it is at least t3 quality and i have mods to use with it.

I think Roland would prefer a Hot/Cold bar with an indicator that slowly moves one way or another according to the characters temperature. The middle section of the bar is the comfort zone. He then could then see when to put on something warmer/cooler.

I am going to have fun making tiny people hordes that jump and attack from across the room lmfao. That and Giant bosses. Surprisingly the hit detection works great on both small and large . Just gotta get reach and speeds figured out for turning and stuff. So damn funny. I love all the stuff that has been added into A17. I hope the Vehicles get more love as far as quality variances and being able to repair or put better quality parts(swap out). Hopefully the quality system in general gets more love.
That is cool, especially the giant. Is there a way to configure it with an area of effect attack by default? It would be really silly if a giant could only attack one voxel at a time. :p

 
honestly i am enjoying this iteration. day 11 or so on 120 minute days. yes 200% loot.

i want to try the mechanics not punish myself because balancing isnt perfect.

just got motorbike. level 50 something.

specialising in intellect ie 10. master chef 5. gives me top end crafting quality and workstations as soon as the gates allow. cant find beakers but thats a different story.

am managing what i mark as a benchmark each game day. which coincides with each non work day because, whats the phrase, real life.

only complaint is to go fast on bikes etc on controller you need to bloody push down on the stick all the time. please align that to the run style.

secondary skill branch fortitude to get living off land level 4 to see what mutated seeds do. also boosts health min.

i use firearms mostly but have no perks there yet. except 1 in headshot of course.

can craft lvl six shotguns now. most go down after three body shots. if i try real hard some go down with one to the head. no perks in shotties.

seems all good for a relaxing and enjoyable game that requires you to set your own mssions to get your own benchmarks.

today i needed 30 bones to make enough duct tape to make the motor bike. took time yes. for the session i had a purpose. i achieved that purpose and smashed a heap of zds.

isnt that what the game is about?

i think tfp are on the right track.
I also am enjoying it thoroughly. The only crutch I'm using right now is I have zeds only running as ferals and on blood moon. This gives me just the right amount of difficulty to get a feel for all the new changes without removing all of the challenge.

 
MODS I would like to see:

-- FORGES - a Blower mod that makes a forge burn hotter and thus speed things up in processing raw resources and quicker crafting

-- WORKBENCH - a mod like Power Hammer, Drill Press, etc. that make certain task faster and chance to produce something a Tier better

-- AUGER - Diamond Tip Mod that is like a perk giving 20% more power to digging in rock - this is actually common in coring/mining at least was in the 80s when I did the work :)

-- Corn feeder - (barrel, electrical parts, solar panel, battery, Corn, Timer) placed outside will attract animals (deer/boar/bear)

try running the day, walk at night and BM and ferals run. This gives a lot of different situations.

IE looting is better at night tough it's hard to see. Until some ferals start spawning. I feel it gives nighttime real purpose in the early game

Hey Roland, when the final 17.X version comes along, will we know pretty much that day that no more updates are coming until A18? Im planning on holding off on playing more until 17 is completely done.

Oh, I'm not against the chatter at all.. but IMHO people do need to at least play through 50-60 days to really get a feel for how things unfold and how the intended leveling works. It looks like many are playing till day 4, saying this or that is broken, and instead of learning to play as intended, they just start hacking into the xml.
We started a sp and a mp server to see how things unfold, and progress is pretty good all things considered now other than the quibbles I had I posted about previously, but those are just progress tweaks.
very much agree to this statement, several of my friends do not want to play because "building is dead" and I thought that for awhile too, but now at level 70, stamina not an issue, mining not an issue, hell have 5 mixers running non stop. Its not gone, its just not day 4 concrete anymore. Like that. Game still needs some love =coughs=(weather). And question; in this world when your infected do have some compelling urge to climb into the ceiling/or closet of the building your in??? Agreed not every POI should be a crawl that is STUFFED with infected.

Yes, when they state they are now working on A18 you know A17 is done getting updated.

 
Since the description in the game is the same, my question is... does a plaster cast and a splint do exactly the same?

If so... why is the plaster cast put in the game?... and if it doesn't... then why doesn't the description specify this?

When I completed enough Tier I quests, the trader gave me Shamway's Secret Recipe or something like that. It looked like a magazine that give you a temporary skill buff but it was not a magazine. I read it, it made the reading noise but I have no idea what it actually did for me. Anyone have any clue?

Herbal antibiotics maybe? I think that is what it probably was.

 
were openable jail cell doors taken out of game?? cannot find them??? Anyone
They were causing pathing issues with the new AI. Not sure if they were permanently removed or just disabled till they are fixed.
