That bit of irony aside, why do you think they've afforded us so much ability TO mod the game if the intention isn't to change what we do/don't like? Just because a system can be worked around does not mean that criticism of it for the sake of improvement isn't valid. Temperature is leagues better than A16, but still has some weird quirks. People are allowed to talk about it.

Oh, I'm not against the chatter at all.. but IMHO people do need to at least play through 50-60 days to really get a feel for how things unfold and how the intended leveling works. It looks like many are playing till day 4, saying this or that is broken, and instead of learning to play as intended, they just start hacking into the xml.

We started a sp and a mp server to see how things unfold, and progress is pretty good all things considered now other than the quibbles I had I posted about previously, but those are just progress tweaks.

Yeh but you're assuming people aren't. I've got my vanilla sp game I play, but the real fun is in the modded mp game.

You gotta know what sucks first before modding it.

What it SHOULD be like is "If you equip this item, the following changes will occur"

Seriously! Look at it! :C
"The following is what you have, if you don't equip this item". There is no fact-based right or wrong with this, this is just a convention like what side of the road you are driving.

But in the gaming world everyone is used to the reverse, TFP chose driving on the left.

well... how about the Count Up Timers? :D

I suppose we'll all eventually memorize how long buff X lasts.

Yet I know I prefer the old Count Down To Zero type timers.

oh, and driving on the Right while sitting on the Left :D (( just a wee bit frisky on this 1st day'O 2019 ))

Yes, why do buffs count UP to a number that's unknown. :f

It should count down to 0.

I think I posted that in another thread on accident.

... No. :f

May as well just do this then

imagine if it had to show TWO stat changes. the world would implode.
wat? It does with Armor between Steel and Military for example, like 5 different values.

And it's utterly confusing how it's in reverse. ;U

I wish that some day it will be possible to "harvest" the pipes and decorations from POIs again.

I know the traders sell them sometimes, but their stock is fairly limited.

I have to admit I never got how the modifier notation worked and after reading about it here I’m still not certain. Quite confusing.

there may be a need for a quick chat on 'multiply by -1' :D

Edit: sry, to quick to be clear. Meant Roland, the math teacher, might need to have a water cooler chat with someone about the power of Y x -1 ... ok, was funnier in me head 0_o

It shows you if the item you are mousing over is better or worse.
I think Gazz and us confused players are in violent agreement about how it should work. And I'm pretty sure TFP meant for green to mean "better" and red to mean "worse". Specifically, I think we all agree that if you mouse over non-worn/non-equipped item, seeing a green modifier in a stat means "this item you're mousing over is better for this stat than the similar item you're wearing or have equipped".

What perhaps Gazz doesn't realize, but the earlier images show, is that there seems to be a -1 multiplier being used (or needs to be). Additionally I think the code might be too-simplistically calculating <new item stat> - <worn item stat> and if result > zero then coloring it green without considering if the stat itself is a "positive" stat (armor rating) or a "negative" stat (stamina drain).

I definitely agree with most here that it doesn't seem like it's working well at the moment.

Anyone else find non horde night cops no longer a threat?

Can't put my finger on why though, but they're a LOT easier to kill now.

Also, they're entirely worthless for loot.
