There's already a completely grind-free mode available, it's called creative.

There must be grind, the question is how much. This is why I say you can minimize the temptation to slow-grind by various balances instead of trying to ignore it altogether.

At the moment I'm grinding zombie-heads, after some balancing I'll be grinding crafting and mining. The fact that I'm grinding to improve skills I use isn't the issue, it's how fun for the player is the most efficient way.

Remember stick gate. I was in favour for keeping it. Also in favour for a16 skillsystem. Argument for removing sticks and logs was for easier recipes and memory. I accepted it because of performance not out of game play value! But that's just me.
I find it funny we have removed sticks, meats, etc, but we still have 50,000 different types of canned food.

Hardcore mode please? Also I hope the health/stamina food situation is still being tweaked? Sufficient clothing for all weather being craftable?

Known issue.TFP is out for the holiday so nothing is going to happen right now.

The "builder XP" issue is one of scale.

From noob-with-a-stoneaxe to Minecraft-dude-with-diamond-pick there is a x12 factor of block DPS.

Late game the harvesting amount and XP are substantial.

Now my plan is to have XP bonuses on early game tools to somewhat beat down this scale. No balancing of the numbers can overcome an order of magnitude unless I toss out major progression elements.

Only after this scale is brought back into a more reasonable range it makes sense to look at things like material XP values.
Will XP bonuses be inversely proportional to the base damage of the tool? Any chance we could get the weak weapon XP boost to apply to weapons too?

The block damage of "weapons" like a club or fist is too insignificant to matter for harvesting.
So, are you saying fists are supposed to be very poor at breaking blocks? Guess somebody forgot to tell the zeds that.

Sorry for asking for perhaps the 100st time but is there any news on putting a Random Map on ur dedicated server?
I still can't host it at Nitrado, Nitrado sends me to the FunPimps

Is it because RWG still is buggy that it cant be hosted? I can host local but not on the server we rented
I use Stream-Line and have been running RWG since B199.

Can someone point me in the right direction to import a saved prefab into a map? I know how to import it to the test world, but I'd like to actually place it on a map... That is the point of being able to export right? :p

hmmm

thinking about changing my location to

"in my brains; setting traps"

listen to the mission

im extending the tradition

and im giving you permission

to be in my head

ha ha ha!

Do custom prefabs need to exist on the server and client pc's for coop for them to work properly in A17?
That's what I keep hearing, but haven't had a chance to test it myself. Too bad, because I would really like to throw CompoPack on my server like I have in the past. I always aim to have my server not require downloaded mods.

Just got 1/4 way through shot gun messiah factory. Wow. I can not believe the detail of the POIs in a17!!!!!!!

I was so focused on base building through experimental I didn’t even notice how amazing the giant new POI are.

Whoever made the shotgun messiah factory. Just WOW!!!

What I meant was, will we get more XP for killing zombies with weaker weapons in the same way that slower harvesting tools will give us more XP when harvesting.

We did but they aren't very smart.

But just think of the rage if they were to remove cat food but *gasp* leave the dog food in! I'm not sure TFP would survive!
Cat people vs dog people is one we cannot touch!

Man I gotta say that item getting stuck in your toolbar bug is getting frequent. I am not sure what to do to cause it, but it's annoying now lol. It makes it undroppable too "You cannot drop this item". Scrapping works, but sometimes it's something with a low scrap time, gotta be quick about it.

Instead of focusing on restrictive game play, feels like we could do with a few more alternatives to a given goal. B199 was all about killing zombies for xp and unlocking perks, many complaints, that's going to be given alternatives, that's already going to please a lot of ppl.

Day 1 forge was problem for some so now they seem to have hit a sweet spot at player level 10 and nomads can still find them in the wild.

The ongoing learn by doing saga, people who enjoy it including myself are being punished by ppl who abuse it. One alternative is you've introduced temporary magazines, why not have learn by doing only after reading, make it 10 or 15 mins and hard to find so it won't get abused. Better yet have make the increment so small and insignificant cheesers will realize they're wasting their time. But for those who enjoy immersive learn by doing get that small satisfaction they're progressing their character 'not' to be mistaken with trying to get godlike.

Attribute gates are the worst for me, it's probably just my playstyle but I do not want to put points in all attributes and be all powerful just to unlock 1 or 2 sub perks, eg

+ Vehicles could be crafted as it is, great for builders. For those who don't build give them the option to purchase it from trader at ridiculous high prices so it's not obtainable early stages. Or have it as a very high tiered quest where we earn it through actual game play, make money or complete trader quests. Someone pointed out a reputation system for individual traders which adds another element of game play.

Alternatives > restrictions, might also help cure cheesers.
