I am going to make a guess here and say you don't travel a lot. You tend to clear out nearby POIs, or build. When I switched from a builder play style to more of a nomad where I do quests for traders, I started covering a lot more territory and went from 2 spare eggs and 30 feathers to 40 eggs and 500 feathers, and at least 50 meat in my chest by day 5.
mostly stay nearby at first, yes, but I usually take the first day running around looking for a good spot, some 3-5km. And I can usually have stacks upon stacks of feathers and minimal eggs. One time I went on a nest run, got about 1000 feathers, maybe 50 eggs. But that run took a full day to find that many, wasted so much time and there went half a biome of nests that isn't replenishing any time soon. I probably just got really unlucky, which is a normal for me, heh. Mainly cause there's a time I took all day looking for nests and got a quarter of the eggs that a friend of mine got in maybe a third of the time x.x. I wouldn't say there is anything inherently wrong with that, just means I have horrible RNG, and when things focus on that, that's usually where I get left waaaaay behind. But come to actual surviving hordes, etc. that's where I shine compared to my friends. Kinda the trade off we have.

As for meat, I just look for boar farms. Or since I just do Navezgane till stable, I go to Bob's Boars and get all that there. Meat's never a problem, I just don't see making grilled or boiled for half the stats that bacon and eggs gives for just 2 extra eggs. I'll probably have to just get a farm going quick for now, lol.

Playing Computer games since 1984
Really you did it, worst startgame i ever played in all that time.

If you look in wikipedia under "opposite of fluid gameplay" you find a screenshot of level 1-1X of A17

I would explain it, but i am cold, i am hot and i am out of stamina
I'm barely here on the forums, yet I distinctly remember telling you to get out of those biomes until you have appropriate gear and supplies, and you refuse to follow that advice, and continue to post the same kind of posts. Until you change your actions your outcome will be the same.

Read the in game journal. Read the tooltip on food, notice it does not give "fullness" stat, it gives "Stamina" stat. There really IS no "hunger stat. There is only the max stamina stat.
Its the same thing. Since your missing stamina is your actual hunger, they decided to call it stamina, since it restores stamina and not a food bar that doesn't exist.

Madmole, any chance of adding the stats of each food in its description....you have to make one of each food to see what is better than the others...unless im missing something.

Also, any chance of making the wine barrels hold our water.....say 100 jars per barrel ....would be cool

Regards

Ouch

how about a overeaten debuff at some point like 30 above max stamina and with even more you vomit and go back to 50with vomiting being an actual mechanic you can play more with illness and stuff like that
We had vomiting in but people thought it was too brutal to lose all your hard earned food. I think we can do a stuffed buff and slow you down or something, but then people will want to see the meter so they can min/max their food to game the system.

Min/maxing food isn't really gaming the system. It's just choosing the most efficient food source for the current situation. Resource management is one of the key aspects that people enjoy about survival games so it shouldn't come as a surprise that there's a portion of the player base that wants to tightly manage resources.

A change to the UI that shows the impact of the current mechanic would be appreciated. Making overeating slow you down probably won't be received as well.

Personally, I think the game should favor co-operative multiplayer and single players should turn down the difficulty if necessary in order to cope. That makes it fun for both styles. Play Nomad as a SP for a challenge or play Adventurer for a more normal SP experience. Play Warrior for a tougher team challenge or Nomad for a normal team challenge.
I mean, if that's the intended design, then so be it. I play MP only! I enjoy the social aspect of the game, but as a solo player - which is my choice, but i do feel very gimped compared to any other previous alpha.

A17 to me doesnt feel harder, just more tedious. The attempt to slow the game down is great, but its done in a way that requires a solo player to work harder, not smarter, and thats unfortunate.

That's my experience too, and I don't even have hunter perks or slow metabolism. Granted the current version is burning through too much food, finding food isn't a problem, traders have food and vending machines.
But food in early game is the only means to heal. I find myself running out of food if I get to bold in looting and needing to heal mid POI

They will do that anyway, regardless of what you do.

I say just go for all the extra's and let those that want to play spreadsheet, do so.

you can do the stuffed buff and make food that allows you to ignore it like stews to really fill you up for ages without penalty, perks to increase the cap and stuff like that

And i think vomiting sounds like a really cool mechanic, it hits hard early but if there is a way you can drag the chance to suffer from it out to the midgame i think it has great potential. For example giving zombies increasing chance to infect you with something depending on days or gamestage. Or some harder bioms or pois that can make you sick if you dont have proper equip, (gas or radiation for example)

Maybe some minor things that you can either heal within a few hours or you will vomit once to get it off, that would make golden rods healing effect more interesting for example.

Just a few random thoughts.

Aloe cream is just to the south...in every world....

Wonder if there could be a quick fix for hunger or an xml released. The hunger does get reduced super fast.
Yea, its a bit out of tune atm - On most servers we are required to be 500 meters away from any town. With the current thirst/hunger issues, i use 15% or more by the time i get to town, let alone the fighting and looting to be done once im there.
