From What I can Tell:
Walk - Normal Zombie Walk

Jog - Similar to Human Walk Speed

Run - Normal Zombie Run

Sprint - Similar to Human Run Speed

Nightmare - Faster than Humans
Thank you!

Can't wait to try a Nightmare game :3

I think it was mentioned by faatal that zombies with slight speed variations between them was planned.
As far as I know - they've always had slight differences in speed. You can see (or modify) the speed values of each zombie in the EntityClasses.xml. Many of them move at slightly different speeds. It's been that way for as long as I can remember. When I made my leveling mod - I had literally thousands of versions of each zombie and incremented that speed value for each level and it worked just fine. You could do a 'random' one - the same way by just making multiple versions of the same zed and only giving it slightly different movespeed numbers then just add all the new ones you made to the spawn groups.

Sprint is Normal zombie run speed from what they said the other day, everything lower is slower than normal, Nightmare is faster.

Table saw model is too small... it looks like a children's toy than a proper woodcutting equipment. It looks out of place compared to all other game workstations. It should be at least 0.5 blocks higher than it is and occupy 1x1x1 meter space fully. It looks OK when you're standing on 1/2 slabs.

Whenever I start a new Navezgane game, there is a yellow line in console:

WRN Loaded world file from different version: 'Alpha 17 (b172)'

Happened in b208 too.

I wonder if my game got all the new prefabs from the new builds.

Yes, I deleted saves and started new.

I read a lot but don't post often... I just want to say:

AWESOME game... it still is... after 2500+ hours in this game. Keep up the good work FP and everyone who is so commited and addicted to this game. I dont worry to much about the changes. I just take it how it's coming, I just have fun playing the game, it's as simple as it is.

Can't wait till the next builds or updates. Cheers

Oh: One complain: Can u please bring up the new builds about 6 hours later? Now I am enjoying everything I read but I can't play cause I still have work a few hours. So if the build comes out a few hours later I can go home and start right away ;)

Anyway. THANKS AND KEEP IT UP !

Run is normal A17 zombie run speed.
That is just an assumption you logically came to because the settings used to be called "always run"

Im just stating what the devs said earlier in the thread.

If "run" is the normal speed than why is the default settings for all running zombies "sprint"?

So no performance optimization ..? Still getting only around 10fps compared to 40fps in a16 (with same settings ..) To get decent fps - around 20-30 I now need to cut resullution from 1600 to 640/800 ... not a clue why performance is hit so bad in a17 ... tried all other settings ( 32bit/64bit, low/high, vsync on/off, etc,etc etc .. no use .. only drasticly cutting res works ..

Well digging in sand now will will be interesting .. the way now how easy it drops, means more and frequently collapses = dropmining = more lag and server crashes .. will see how this turns out for mp servers ..

Delete your world files too. Those aren't in the save folder.

what the bloody hell did you guys do to the price of guns. we complained that they wouldnt buy them. the stuff they sell is very expensive, so the solution was to cut back how much they buy guns for? 24 dukes for a bloody hunting rifle? fully repped?

get it together guys, you wanted them used more, not less.

the fact that they now sell mods is nice. but how are we to afford the 5-10k prices if selling 3 guns got me only 124?

My understanding is similar to Doctor3d’s and is based entirely on what the devs said when the feature was first announced. Run - slower than player, sprint - same speed as player, nightmare - faster than player. Maybe this changed from when first announced or I misunderstood. Remember that in earlier A17 builds , the player ran faster than the zombies. I’ll test later to see if the player runs faster than zombies set to sprint.

Regardless, in my opinion this is also the most logical way for it work. Players should be able to choose whether they want zombies to run slower, faster, or the same speed as players. I don’t see the point in having two run speeds that are slower than the player.

Always excited about the game and happy to start a new world.

Just two things that are not bugs but that I find for a long time inconsistent and poorly adapted to survival gameplay:

- Too much food because of the vegetable gardens in town. There should be only two or three harvested plants, the rest should be inedible. I love the fact that cans and raw vegetables are sometimes toxic. They should be our main source of nutrition early in the game.

- The barrels of gasoline should no longer exist. Too much gas. We already find some in the vehicles and above all we can craft them. The management of this type of resource should be a permanent concern. Instead, we do not know where to put all these barrels ^^. Of course, solo or when I configure a server, I make them "unpickable", but would not it make sense in vanilla ?

Thank you for reading me, I return to play for the next 24 hours.

Somewhere on those same pages as that quote from fataal (i think) he states "sprint" is old normal run speed. Maybe I misunderstood or read it wrong too. Not 100% now, starting to doubt myself, but pretty sure. But I remember when I read it I thought "that might confuse some people when looking at the settings"

True. I tested the different speeds and "walk" is very slow, "jog" is the old "walk", "run" is a little faster and "sprint" the old "run". Need to test at night, maybe they are faster.

I went looking through his posts earlier and couldn’t find him making any comparison between the new speeds and the old run speed, maybe it was another dev or Roland.

That may mean it’s not working as intended. Jog was supposed to be faster than the old walk speed. It will vary by zombie though. It would be best to test with one of the faster zombies like q-ball or businessman.
