The more you program AI into an NPC the more patterns will start to emerge.
I liked the simplicity of A16 zombies and those random circle movements, that always flipped the player with there bow aiming -- haha loved that.

Now they all just line up single file and fall into a military march of lemmings to the slaughter....

I have to ask which is better and more fun ?.. A16 or A17 zombie movement patterns ?
A17, by far. A16 and the running in circles was a major bug.

 
This is what called "patches".
Anyway, I am done with A17 for now. Will wait and see what will appear in stable and further versions, but... But for now A16.4 is more enjoyable for me than this linear grindfest.
Grindfest > snorefest

 
I do have to say I'd much rather gain xp bashing zombie heads than pounding rocks for untold hours.

....of course I'd like to be doing it on a shiny new experimental...

I disagree. Medicine, Armor, and other skills led to the same abuse/pointless activities as spam crafting.

Agreed; I got to the point where I would console command level those skills up since they would take hours to do and felt silly. In MP servers, when I did play on one, I would sit crouched against barbed wire on a block (somewhat exploit, took no damage) while holding down the attack button on a stone axe to level up construction skill and armor skill for half an hour... and to this day without adding points into it I never leveled up any archery/gun skills lol.
I'll take it that you misread my post. I said that A16 system needed patches.

The Armor skill was dumb as ♥♥♥♥.. i don't think anyone think that that worked well.

It was stupid to promote the player to get damage just to level armor skill. Instead they could have gave you XP from combat in other words kills.

There you go, Patched!

The Auger could have nerfed xp.

Just ideas from the top of my head.

 
Like "Delete prefab" destroys the prefab and then remove the box

i want to know how i can remove the box only and keep the placed prefab.

Is there such a option or is that all a hoax

 
Got to level 88 after day 14. Time to restart at lvl 1 again. Please fix horde night. When there's too many zombies their Interupt each other's pathing (like GPS Continoisly recalculationg route). I don't even have to run.

 
They've all been really quiet for the last few days, so I'm guessing they are trying to tackle a real tough nut like performance improvement, and they just can't nail it down.

I know they hoped to get a a17 stable before Christmas, but I suspect we won't see a stable until Jan. at this point. Mods are incomplete, skyscrapers aren't in, there are issues with the dedicated server, crashes, controller issues, vehicle and headlamp lighting, and general settings like resolution are having problems now.

That said a17 is still a breath of fresh air in the right direction, and a light of hope after a dismal 2018. I'm happy to at least be able to play a17e, and I'm sure things will get sorted eventually.

 
On the Steam app page the testing_trunk shows updated Dec 7th, 17:44 UTC

Just a guess but since that apparently didn't pass/didn't get pushed out, that would seem to indicate there will be, at minimum at least another build. & if I recall earlier comments about those... something like a couple hours after the build to test it? before, assuming it passes, it's pushed out to us.

--- but I could have all of that wrong :)
