How long before it's a stable build another month or before Christmas

I'd rather see it come out on a Monday, so if a new nasty bug makes it into the next experimental it doesn't wreck a whole weekend of play. Just sayin'

This experimental isn't very broken at all and I'm rather enjoying it.

After two extremely nasty "wandering" night-time hordes in the wasteland my son is cured of wanting to go there, day or night. I've been waiting for over a year for him to be cured of the nonchalant attitude towards the wasteland that he'd developed!

 
Infections are WAY TOO OBNOXIOUS. I went out to visit a trader that was a two minute bike ride away. Half way there I got attacked by a vulture and infected and it hit stage 2 before I could even ride back to my base to cure it, which once again was less than two minutes away. This is terrible pacing and I severely hope this is nothing more than a misplaced decimal point that'll be adjusted. You barely have time notice let alone react and that makes little sense. A simple infection wont kill you in half a day on the faster game settings.

So.. any word on when we might see the next update? Its been more than a week with no indication at all... please keep us in the loop.
it's good to have a longish run on an experimental though, otherwise 98% of reports are only on the early game

 
in the 5 years of development we never got any christmas stuff :miserable:

Really? Rwg borked to hell, maps over 8k cause issues, skyscrapers aren't even in rwg unless you mod for them and it lags like your playing on a winxp machine. Zombies ai and damage is all over the map.. like let's dig 20 blocks away from a player because that's where the dirt is. Not to mention eac is horribly bad atm and only fix is to turn it off and hope some script kiddie doesnt ruin everyone's fun.

But it doesnt crash every 5 mins, so i guess it's not to broken...

Stamina drain makes it so I have to walk most of the time so I hardly go anywhere.

I know you can buy cardio but I have better places to put my points.

Well, the cardio is worth it. But, there's a pair of shoes you can find called high performance running shoes - green icon - they reduce stamina usage when running quite a bit.

Also don't armor up if you don't need to - you'll keep more stamina. Use coffee - it's the best drink in the game now - it replenishes thirst plus boosts stamina very nicely.

When attacking or hitting blocks - you save tiny bits by keeping a mind of the hit points remaining of the entity. So you can do things like power power weak or weak power power and you'll save a bit over the long run.

After awhile though - really soon actually - stamina isn't a problem anymore. You'll not have to worry about it much ever again.

Sounds like stamina isn't really a priority for you then or this would be the better place to spend your points. 🙂

 
On very Early Game Stamina I'm w Erik on having better places to put points.

(I'm reading it as he's mainly talking about traveling)

The Rule 1 Cardio -only- comes into effect -while- Sprinting. And I could barely tell I had it at Lvl-1.

If it worked as the original description, ~'both while sprinting & standing still' then absolutely a buy.

The new Game Options on z's walk/job/run/insane have me wondering if possibly a Player Jog might be possible. Could be a nice fit for early game travel before you get a bike/minibike.

 
Great work on the physics and AI Fataal. A couple observations:

- vehicles get "wiggly wheels" after sitting for a minute or two

- I think the zombies are way too good at knowing exactly the best way to get to you, in terms of structural integrity and material toughness. Perhaps a bit *too* smart.

- Zombies need some variability in their AI so they don't each do exactly the same thing as others. A wandering horde frequently looks like a wandering conga line.

- Zombie pathing is wonky when there are more than a 6-10 or so. They seem to be avoiding invisible obstacles or something.

- Zombies won't advance on a diagonal, or are resistant to doing so. I think you've commented on that before, but I hope you can fix it.

I am really enjoying this latest experimental build. Performance is waaaaay better for me and I like most of the game play changes.

Probably the best tool/weapon you would be lucky enough to have in a survival environment. So versatile and awesome at destroying everything. Would definitely be my choice. That and a flat head axe...unstoppable
