What is that "You are too hot"i wear so much clothes to reduce heat as i can, no chance
Yucca smoothies reduce the heat a lot, and you can make insulation mods for your armor to get even more heat protection.

Or not, after 15 Hours the game keep punching me in the face, and after i am soo angry that my real life suffers i consider to deinstall the game
* Out of stamina

* You are too hot

and then the last drop that let the barrel explode i first time tried to wrench a car
GTFO of the desert until you are equipped for it. (duster, drinks that cool, shorts, tank top, armor insulation, etc) I think we've already explained how to fix stamina.

I dont want to play a week or 2 in game to make a base. Going from poi to poi sounds awful. 2 weeks ingame is 14 hours on default. I dont want to play 14 hours before I can do what I love. We shall see when I get home from vacation. I'll be base building then.
Flagstone upgraded to brick is the best choice IMO, then you can go straight to concrete after that when you can craft it. They still shred brick pretty fast, so get spikes 4-6 deep on all sides of your base.

This is good news. Performance in POIs (read: me failing in combat indoors from laggy controls due to lower FPS) is the thing that is keeping me from fully diving in and properly testing the experimental atm. :)
Has it been noted by the dev crew that Tree Quality is bugged atm? It controls other things as well (like car / object LOD), and LOD distance slider doesn't seem to do anything.
We already optimized LODs I think if they disappeared any sooner it would just look like a bug.

I'm on day 5 of my 2nd playthrough, I'm in a base, not one I've built, but a prefab I've taken over - there's definitely not enough resources to build a base unless it's a basic wooden hut at the point I'm at right now. Stamina degridation has only just started to become less of an issue, but still need better tools as I'm still in the stone age, and need better mining perks before I can even hope to build anything of my own.
On a plus note I've not died yet in this 2nd playthrough, my first one I was dying all the time, but it didn't take too long to figure out the tactics and to play it safer, and only take POI's that are more applicable to my current level.
Yes the game is easy to survive and easy to die in, depending on what risks you take.

Because thats exactly how the game is designed
A hard start you have nearly no chance if RNG dont like you

A good middle

And a easy tralalala wonderland as soon as you have your perks up

Remove the lower 25% of the Difficult scale

Remove the upper 25%

and stretch the middle over the 100%

Besides that as sidemark, when i say Glue17 feels like you play in glue i dont speak about difficulty.

and 8x8 km is maybe large from some points of view

but

64km² are still only 64² of 314² we had in a16
No I'm saying players will start new games in a month and say its easy on day 1, because they will have mastered the most efficient way to play by then.

did you guys catch up with the newest cappo video , it shows pretty exciting results, @fataal
also , MM what will you say if you (from the past ) saw A17 right now, lets say during A8 development ? out of imagination question :)
I'd have said the same thing I said now, job well done! I'm just happy we're here. We are done with major framework changes so adding new content is a breeze now. I think you guys will be happy to observe our update schedule moving forward.

@madmole is it intended to be having ferals and radiated zombies spawning in hordes at low gamestage?
Many people are getting hordes with them before they are even level 15 and they completely overpower any defense you can do
Some of the POIs are set up too hard, they designers are looking into it. As for hordes are you talking about 7 day hordes or wandering hordes. The wandering ones are xp farms. At night they can be dangerous but if you are quiet you are fine.

The 7 day ones are easily defeated by crafting a ton of spikes, like 6 deep all the way around your fort. I build a 7x7 with 6 rows of spikes and that usually works. Iron bars all the way around and then rain arrows down on them from above. Have coffee on your belt and take off running if they breach your fort. All my craft and storage gear are in a separate base connected by high walkway so if they defeat my tower my stuff is ok.

Happy Thanksgiving MM, thanks for checking in today. Greetings to you Rick and your family. I am grateful you and your brother decided on this day many years ago to make your vision into this game that brings us fans so much joy. :)
Yes I was talking about that today. Happy Thanksgiving to you too :)

it is easy said then done, to make 6 row deep spike with iron spike, .. you mean 240 iron spike, which is not easy task to do, then connecting to second base,... .sounds like we have to spend night in making mine at night...

I have to make a choice.. it's difficult..

A) Full textures, low shadows, 1280*720 resolution.. Playing with an FPS of 15 inside buildings (sometimes as low as 12), or

B) Half textures, no shadows, 1280*720 resolution.. Having an increase of 2-3 FPS compared with A, but the game doesn't look as atmospheric anymore, or

C) Full textures, low shadows, 800*600 resolution.. Having an average of 30-35 FPS, but the obviously smaller screen..

What would you guys do? Honest question.

I play with 120 minuet days but only play about that long a day. So that plus the slow progression means I won’t have a good base for a long time. That’s a good thing. I play slow and cautious so that means I will be into this game for a very long time before I get the “ been there done that “ feeling

Go with the settings you like the most.

For me its the same situation, but I simply decided to put aside playing and wait for some optimization updades, if they wont resolve FPS problems then i will simply stop playing ( not rdy to buy 1k+ gaming laptop for just playing 7dtd :D )

Either way go with choice what feels best for you ;)

Thanks! Yeah I haven't decided yet.. 13-17 fps inside a building is not very ideal.. but without shadows the game looks rather.. uniform, I think.

What's your pc specs

Has anyone else run into the giant green pig? I don't even know what to make of that....if you see it, run away.

I got 198 meat out of two of those suckers, (99 each).

Found two of them on a rooftop.

Wake them up, drop down the ladder and run to the other end of the room, (watch the weak floorboards).

Due to the lower height, demon pigs can't reach you, dispatch at your leisure.

There's also a window in the preceding room that the feral's can't get you if you stand behind, can shoot arrows through.

did anyone find a mod for tools? I'm messing around with creative and so far nothing that works with shovels and stuff
I put a dye on my pickaxe (it adds damage on blocks) and an ergonomic grip (uses less stamina).
