You would think I would be more confortable with Linux than I am I started using computers back in the Dosshell,Valet days. Still remember dialing into 1 server doing what you need to do and logging out , and floppy disks that you couldn't even fit a modern mp3 on lol.
The huge 10" ones? Those were awesome! :D

Unfortunately there isn't enough competition in the American system. You can get truly unlimited broadband in the UK for less than $50 a month. Our upload speed sucks, probably because everything is routed through GCHQ and studied by a dusty old man who is more comfortable with a typewrite than a computer, but the download rates are okay.

if you think it's evil, try this one:
dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/hda

Who is evil now?
That's also a goody, dd is a super powerful and useful tool for all kinds of things. It'll even make you a sandwich and <DELETED BY MODERATOR (but not really)> lol :3

Please be using Vulkan please be using Vulkan please be using Vulkan! :D
Everything I've read says Unity3D's Vulkan renderer is pretty awesome, but since it was just experimental who knows if it'll be default, or if it'll be forceable with

Code:
%command% -force-vulkan
Will be finding out soon enough!
Have you tried to install Vulkan on anything other than Ubuntu? I did a few months ago, it was not plug-and-play.

I'm using amdgpu on debian and with the latest mesa package in sid I have everything I need

During grad school orientation (learning the school's online systems, library access, cohort stuff, etc.), a blind Korean guy asked me to lead him around, so I did. At our lunch meeting, the group leader used some idiom which made the whole room laugh. The Korean guy asked me what was so funny, so I tried to explain the idiom to him.

I feel like that Korean guy right now with all of these computer jokes.

So does a SSD actually give that much of a improvement (not just 7 days I mean in general) just curious its one of the upgrades I just have never got around to doing?
Yes. It's a huge performance increase over a spinning drive, for everything.

I use to do this myself for running and making mods until I started to use the Mod Manager it handles everything for you. :) Gotta love the modding comunity for all the tools and things they do.
no mod manager for linux though. :(

and renaming isn't really a big problem, unless I screw up. (don't try it when slorshed) :witless:

Fair enough, I might actually give that a go. I know the tech is being worked on as we speak so things may have changed by now.

Hardware is a major factor, only a limited number of graphics cards are compatible and the computer I was testing on was just on the cusp of obsolete but it still claimed _some_ support. Since I did manage to get it working on some distros it seems that claim was indeed accurate.

I live in Canada, though only 30 minutes from the American border. The issue is the same for nearly all of NA, always seems to come down to regional monopolies preventing any sort of competition.

I just unstalled the game in prep for a clean install. It feels like I've been to a friends funeral.

Thanks you A16 for months worth of fun.
