Some of the comments during pockets stream were pretty immature, but she ignored them for the most part and did a good job defusing everything.

Otherwise I enjoyed it and look forward to seeing a17.

I just got done watching one of the streams and I loved a lot of what I've seen thus far!

I do have a question for later builds since I saw something that happens in every game, and that is that sometimes, nights get very boring. Will there ever be any type of player to player gambling or little "mini games" that we players can do to kill time when waiting? I like the idea of having some down time and utilizing it in a fun way rather than sitting around watching the game hours tick by when you're in a pretty bad situation to do anything about zombies outside waiting to kill you. To wager money or even weapons to a few games of 2 player poker or blackjack, and then maybe more players if there was the ability to craft card tables, roulette tables, or any other type of old-school or even medieval pub game entertainment (think the Fable games), then that would be awesome.

It's funny; I'm blessed and get to watch modders still excitedly mod for a16, like manux and his boat mod...

... I'm feeling super blessed that the pimps have made modding easier in a17, and want to take this last opportunity to thank them before the a18 thread is opened...

Thanks guys!

Yeah agreed.

I just spent time reading all the changes and noticed just how much they did for Modders.

What a great team!

Really good choice to embrace the community!

Can't wait to sink my teeth into A17.

I think I may even have found a way to simulate logic gates.

AND/OR/NOR at least and maaaaaaaybe XAND and XNOR.... using the buff system.

Hahahaha I can't wait to see if I can pull it off.

very disappointed, streamers should test new stuff and try things to test the game and uncover bugs instead i saw in their videos they are just walking around and talking or building same stuff for hours

The whole point is to test it, not to teach how to build a base we already know how to build a base

The entire point of streaming is to show people the game and how it works. Otherwise, there'd be little point in streaming. Also, you might know how to build a base (or think you do), but that doesn't mean everyone else does. I'm sorry you didn't get what you wanted out of the streams, but that also doesn't mean no one else did. I guess you'll have to just wait until Monday and show everyone how its done.

Level 20 is nothing in the grand scheme of things. Progression feels amazing now to me. When you get your first iron tools it feels very rewarding and theres a lot more cool things to get long after that, and a lot of interesting choices, like light vs heavy armor, what weapon to specialize in, mods etc.
The problem now is, everybody will get iron tools at lvl 20. It's not much of a choice, it's a "must take" skill at 20.

I am not at all surprised the devs added even more support for modding. Some of them used to be modders for different games after all. Gazz I know pretty well from another community and he modded for X3 Terrain Conflict and Albion Prelude, as well as modding 7DTD before he became a team member here.

The food bar is right there. Its the black part of your stamina bar. Water simply provides a speedy recovery so it doesn't really impact the game enough to bother with a bar. When its low enough to impact game play (50% or less) it pops up on the screen. Its impact is so low that its not a big deal.
It would be more intuitive the other way around though. Hydration should have a much more immediate effect on you.

I like that hunger is directly tied to your calorie consumption but I would not tie it to stamina. Let it just drop to 0% and then start taking max health away 1 point per minute. (That gives you 100 minutes to starve befory you die)

Dehydration could be the "max stamina" modifier. When you are dehydrated you are getting cramps and weakness rather fast.

The Navezgane world grew from 16 square kilometers to 36 square kilometers in size and has been given a new terrain height overhaul. They height is much more extreme and natural looking. You will not recognize the world.
So, Navezgane is now bigger than the old Random Gen? :f

Good. The Project Management discipline was non-existent for this version. You should consider getting a *real* PM that understands the gaming development process, and has the authority to make people toe the line. Many exist. Really, the project creep here for an alpha was horrendous and completely unacceptable in all but hobby projects. Now that I've said what desperately needed to be said, I will shut my mouth and go back to the shadows. (Awaiting the ban hammer and "you're a poopy-head" type comments).
ASL?

Again instead of taking this away, can you give it as an option to toggle in the menu? ;x

It might seem counter intuitive to tie water to stamina, but once you consider the range of 'specialist' drinks that all boost stamina, then maybe it makes sense to put the hydration/stamina link there to get players into the swing of thinking of fluids for stamina.

I know from A16, I never ever bothered with beers or coffee (but other players won't leave base without the stuff), but maybe with a more involved tie-in of the whole stamina thing I might give it more consideration, as will the noobs.

Have you guys found any new bugs from the streams?
1. Jeep roadkill damage seems to be extremely low (so they will just get back up again). Jeep also gets stuck on picked fences for the same reason.

2. Not sure about this one. Sleepers spawn in buildings whilst looting (Capp00 7 Days to Die - Alpha 17 Is Here! A Preview - Steam Code Giveaway). I've always had the same feeling in Ravenhearst too. Could never really confirm it, they can also easily hide behind corners and wake up from activity.

No, the entire point of streaming is NOT to test. That is the job of the Q&A team. Streamers are for marketing.

After watching a couple of streams I can already tell there will be lots of complaining caused by the new difficulty on horde nights. Please don't listen to those people.

This is finally going in the right direction. It's fun, challenging and needs tactics and preparation to defend on the 7th day that is supposed to be tough and keep you on your toes. Besides, for everyone that will have a hard time given the added difficulty, there are always lesser difficulty options to choose from.

Now, consider to gate nerd poling behind some perk points and you're golden.
