@Joel and your brother - This release has been unreal. Been watching streamers for almost 5 hours now and the only thing that is revealed is how much tougher A17 is compared to A16. Great job TFP and team! Thank for for such a kick ass game!

Wathcing ShadowFox right now and I asked 1-10 how much harder is it from A16 and she said 7.5 and 3/8... Then she died. Haha - Bes game ever!

I hit about a dozen streams. Prime's was by far the most informative per say, so I stuck with that one, but we didn't get to see alot of gameplay.
I approve this message. I was watching too... Very nice surprise visit from Rick. And he had an amazing answer to my question about what sparked the 7DTD interest. I hope someone snipped it becaues Minecraft was a big lead towards me wanting to find a better Voxel game.

Really? I had the opposite opinion, seemed more like a hang out then a Q&A. Pokket's stream with madmole also was uninformative as they only answered like 1/10th of the questions, which were things we already knew. G4k's steam was a mess about. I actually learned a lot more from kage's stream just from pure gameplay and him trying to figure things out.

What does the performance look like on the streams? Stuttering?
It looked pretty sweet to me, although I was seeing framerates hitting 20 quite often, but the game looked smooth, and people were saying it was at least as good as A16, but with better graphics rendering. My issue was the lousy stream. Loads of buffering, but that's not the game... New Zealand (home) is about as far away from the rest of the internet as it is possible to be. Chances are the International Space Station has a faster link to the net... and that thing is moving!

so, I just got out of work, because apparently nobody is capable of writing code within a month of the holidays.

Where can I view the archived streams of the streamer folks?

Thanks in advance.

I did search only for the links of the 3 announced streamer groups in here: https://7daystodie.com/forums/showthread.php?93962-Early-alpha-17-streaming-event

I did not want to search all the streamers in this list: https://7daystodie.com/streamer-weekend/

In the last link all streaming event people are listed and linked to their channels.

Pokket Part 1:

Pokket Part 2:

Prime:

QA Team Multitwitch:

tfp_twigg:

Part 1:

Part 2:

Part 3:

wretcheddollie:

kumquat_tv:

PS: Maybe i should copy this over to the streaming event topic too - or maybe a Mod can do it.

Edit: http://multitwitch.tv/tfp_twigg/WretchedDollie/Kumquat_tv

tfp_twigg and kumquat_tv are just streaming, wretcheddollie is just offline, so you can use this link: http://multitwitch.tv/tfp_twigg/Kumquat_tv

What

-You can only have one active land claim block but the claim area is much larger.

-Claim blocks are cheap to craft and repair. Placing another will instantly deactivate but not destroy your previous one.

How is this an Improvement?

Can the claim shape or size be defined by the player? What if you got a a slim building thats xx long, can only claim part of it and lots of unused space

rip pve "creativity" servers

I spent the last two weeks grinding on Dead Island 1 and 2 (while waiting for A17), but after seeing a few streamer previews I'm seriously enjoying the visuals of A17 so far. Looking forward to any future lighting effects that can be done, if any.

Land claim blocks stop zombie spawns and quests as far as I know. With enough of them you can grief a server so that nobody sees a zombie and nobody can do a quest.

I agree that adjusting the x, y and z dimensions to within a specific volume would be a nice feature to compensate for the limited number of active blocks.

I didn't really notice any stuttering on Kage's or Pokket's stream. Kage had low FPS but just turning down Tree Quality seemed to help quite a bit. But even when it was running between 30-40 it was still smooth.

Ive watched 2 Utube Vids so far & all I can say is Lmao at their Inept game skills.. Killed by a single zombie while walking about on normal difficulty, Like I thought this was suppose to be hard... Cant wait to get a decent mod on their with SDX so I can have my normal 150 zombies roaming about With Feral on & always Run... Both streamers are actually really bad at the game... I dont think they have done any favors for the game so far either as they havent made whats new shine, All they have done is start a new game, Walk around & spend 3 hours making a few wood blocks.. This is why PR works cos there geared for PR were as streamers are like us, Just wanting to play the game... Hopefully some decent Vids will come out that actually show off the fact this is almost 17 months in the waiting...
Its quite clear to anyone the only reason they are even playing the game is so they can grab donations.. Heres hoping the better streamers follow through...
You must be a real blast at parties. Lol.

Thanks!

Yeah in A16 I had on average 30 FPS so it's okay :)

Kage seems pretty good, but everyone is still learning stuff, there is a lot to learn.
I jumped in kage's stream last night and he seemed to have his feet under him. (Day 2-3). I plan to watch another stream/video or 2 from him before the release.

So if they are climbing a wall and there is a block above them blocking them from going up can they destroy it?
A common base tactic is to place blocks around the sides of the outer wall to prevent zombies from climbing up to the top.

Also, from the fixed list: "Sack disappears for another player, when is observed from 6 meters or above"

I had to laugh at that. Who's observing another player's sack? Must be Roland...
Best release note ever lol

He's right though. I personally always play on hard with running zombies always on and loot abundancy at 50%, I started to find that quite easy in A16 and was hoping for a big difficulty change in A17.

The streamers didn't do it justice at all. How in the world are streamers supposed to find buggs and other things when they can barely stay alive vs 3 zombies during daytime?

Bacon Creepy streamed during 7th day horde night underground. The zombies dug down 20 blocks in about 40 seconds. Scary stuff, there goes underground safety. He and Gonzo survived though just barely. Great stuff.
