Regarding to the biggest 16x16 square map size: Snow and desert biome will still be located in the north and south end respectively. Gonna suck if you want some stuff from one biome and are in the other... You'd have to cross the entire 16x16 map.
Hence smaller is better in this regard.

" In general, it looks like the maps have been somewhat normalized to have snowy biomes in the north and desert biomes in the south so that there is no more weird instances of getting snow next to desert."

Makes it easier for me to find aloe now that I know generally where to look insted of walking aimlessly. Though I much prefer the current way couldn't they just set something in rwgmixer/biomes to prevent desert being beside a snow biome?

That was one of the worst base designs I have ever seen I can't even imagine what the guy was thinking when he made it.
Neeb gaming suck... and they are fun while they do.... they are by far no optimised gameplay

I'm thinking I bust into a poi, clear the sealed room, make camp, go chop some wood not to far away, come back and find 2 sleepers from the volume that covers other rooms in the sealed room I just cleared.
...that's a net effect same issue as before. Teleporting zombies.

The fix would be one volume per room; you mentioned in a prior post most pois have around 5 volumes, I'm simply asking if this is true for small pois too.

***snip***

...which, people will do.

Because people.

I agree that one sleeper volume per room is the best way to handle storyline quests with dialogue and dynamic scripted events, because holes and breaking would damage the fun/ dialogues in some situations.

I don't think that's a big problem in a17, because quests are about clearing and retrieving only, which is the perfect scenario for all things breaking havock and killing everyone. Gaming the system by going back and forth would be nonsensical dice tries.... boring even to me (I'm a min-maxer) .

Using one sleeper volume per room is best for storyline quests and advanced quests. Because nobody wants to destroy a city just by passing by. Big problem if the Duke is giving you a quest and you trigger the sleeper volume in the next room which is connected to some extent to the top floor and wakes zs and they break everything and stuff.

In a17 however, the trouble would not be deep at all. Again, it adds to the fun to manage dozens of zs and noise and tense situations. As long as the quests don't have dialogs, the current system works just fine.

that sounds quite expensive and slow.. and considering you don't get xp from traps, I'm not sure an auto turret killing it would count as you killing the boss :p
Yup, if killing the boss WAS the quest, then it would probably backfire. Anyway, the cost would make it a last resort kind of thing. But it would be doable.

I think they deliberately made the designs silly, for the lolz.

And I really do laugh out loud watching their shenanigans, their season ending was priceless! :)

I don't think they suck.. I'm sure they're all very good at the game, though on the channel / during recording, they roleplay, and do stupid things for comedic purposes.

I mean, if they had a base with a massive pit around it and the tower goes to the sky and they sit up there all day.. there'd be no content..

It's 7DTD mixed with... reality TV I guess.. and it's funny.

I mean..

"Reality TV is funny" She says... On what planet?

It is by far the dumbest and most mindnumbing TV shows ever invented!!!

So stupid, that I dont even have the words to explain it properly...

/End rant (on this forum... Im still going in my head)

That was awesome! Had me laughing most of the time. :)

Easier said than done. It's a variation of the "four colour theorem" where you don't want the same colour or opposite colour in neighbouring cells. I'm not even sure it's actually solvable every time with the increasingly limited choice of biomes.

Oh my gosh! I had so much fun watching this! And the little 'flashback' to three days earlier was priceless! I laughed through most of the thing and now my sides hurt but in a good way! Thank you so much for sharing this!

Sleepers are in passive mode until you enter the volume and will only react to damage. Once inside, passive is disabled and sound or vision will also wake them.
Ah, okay. Any plans or thoughts on having active mode start a little larger out? Mainly just because I think it would cause some decisions to be made about vehicles too. Take a bike, get close up, or if you take a jeep for the space and don't want to wake up the neighborhood, you park a little away and run in. Just curious.

Also, if I'm in one house, then how are zombies reacting to my activity next door if they are passive? And I ask because I've seen zombies tear out the room to get on top of the house, jump off, then start beating on the house I'm in, and normally, it'll say "sensed" or "hunted" the whole time, so it's not some wandering horde or something since it came from the attic of a house. And I know the volumes are not overlapped, so I couldn't have made them active, right?

Or, if we can see blood drop trace of path zombies walked, no problem exists. This also solves the problem, some player can't find out where zombies come from even after got ambush. They just get anger and report it as right behind spawning bug.
im on holiday supposedly ignoring all this stuff but...

wtf ?

please explain

im intrigued but...

Does that mean you think his post should have read "geese gazz"? (Take a gander at what I did there.)

Truth be told I actually don't watch TV so I don't actually understand the genre.. I guess I was tipping towards Big Bang Theory.. probably more like... live action comedy? Still wrong? Dammit.. :f
