I suspect the comment about no headshot bonus has been misinterpretted.
I'm currently working on the assumption that heads are still the most vulnerable area to attack. As we all know we can wail on the torso for hours without achieving a kill, and de-limbing a Zed seems to do little towards finishing them off.

We may not begin with the added Headshot perks, but that does not necessarily negate any other advantage to preferentially cracking heads from Day One onwards.

I suggest the headshot bonus simply tips the balance even further in favour of headshots and decapitations.

Base head shot damage being removed/broken was just a transition to the new system. I don't think I was alone out of the devs in instantly thinking you have to always have some extra head shot damage. MM added a base 1.5x back in today. It just takes time. This is the dev process.

 
Possible character builder app?

Yes I was asking myself, why do I replay Skyrim so much? Its old AF and sure mods bring some life into it, but at its core its starting over with a new character and playing it differently and seeing if I kick ass or get my ass kicked. To try all the combinations of characters and then role playing it added up to why I felt this was a very important aspect and we needed to put something similar in. Specialization is a LOT of fun I think.
You keep saying that you love the idea of creating new characters and want to see the different character builds the community can come up with.

I would like to propose something like what Path of Exile has going for it (even though it's an action roleplaying game). Ugh there are crickets in the game I HATE crickets, like whenever I hear a cricket in my house I go on a seek and destroy mission like Rambo on them bastards!

I'm sure a modder will be able to change that sound into a Rick Astley song. You will be save from crickets !

Yeah that was not a fun bug. It was doing 1 damage lol. Zombie heads looked like pincushions with 20 arrows in them and I was like WTF DIE ALREADY!!!

 
@Madmole Please look at post #35809 some of us simply can't tolerate certain sounds they literally drive us nuts.

I have asked before if you could add in some more sound controls and you told me unequivocally no but seriously I can't take that it will make me avoid playing.

TFP - thank you for the hard work and providing fans insight into the dev process. It's been fun to watch and makes a closer connection between the players and the game (IMO).

Quick question - any discussion of whether drones would be a good fit for the game to scope out spaces? Just curious.

 
Yeah , I can already see what perks I am leaning towards in my first play through with how I usually play all games like Fallout and Elder Scrolls...but without going straight unarmed...Just wish there was a completely viable way to wreck zombies with fists...like a Martial Arts perk line or unarmed weapons like knuckle dusters...oh well , I might have to work on a mod eventually then! ;)

That attribute alone can make for an entirely new play style!

You're making me rethink my first play-through MM. An agility guy if played right, could be a great survivor, maybe the best if Parkour gives a 2 meter jump!

So many choices! :D

 
Feedback on ninja movement:

I think it´s 2 in 1. faster sneaking is already awesome... less damage from running... also realy cool. Would be good to make two abilitys out of those... call the running Rabitfeet ?

 
hi devs

so currently there are 5 attributes each with perk categories

is that at the framework level or are they able to be increased/changed in the xml files?

just thinking ahead to mods.

basic example in a fantasy/magical world you may want hot/cold/electric/psionic/taxable_income as well as health/intellect/charisma whatever as attributes

also would it be possible to change the attributes after a 'vocation' was chosen, ie a gardener would have fertilizer/germination/seedsaving as attributes with associated perks where a linesman would have electricalresistance/weatherresisatance/overtimerates as attributes with associated perks

just looking out the window for examples - dont ask...

I really didn't care either way. I have played hundreds of games and I can adjust to the "rules". What is wrong with a good ole center mass shot anyhow, finicky millennial's... In all honesty anyone who has ever had any combat training or just basic marksmanship training knows you go for center mass on biological creatures :) Thanks Faatal.

looking weak in comparison to all other perks rn looking forwards to improvements

stealth give exp? or help during horde nights? maybe cause you to have a chance to lose agro? (aka randomly max out detection temporarily) (i dont see stealth having no more than flavor value and early looting)

stam regen seems nice no comments or concerns there maybe as a big ability add a sprint burst on a 60/ 45/ 30 second cool down

swim would have to be much faster unless you guys changed it or added some big poi's with flooded floors in them.

bull rush is ok but should give a debuff to the hit enemy or the aoe knock down because 1 hit isnt that great especially with no sprint back peddling and its a horde game.

Parkour needs a slam attack buff or fall damage reduction or really anything.

how about sprint stamina or a perk that when you max out you can sprint in any direction. i could even start with ("move quicker when strafing")

perk that reduces weapon encumbrance

Just my two cents. also ill fix it when i get the chance i know theres alot of problems with grammar and formatting.

Goes to show you we all have different tastes. Agility was my favorite perk tree so far. :)

 
Few questions for about alpha 17/

1.

How bad is the stuttering on bikes and other vehicles?

2.

can you still do that glitch where if you are on a bike drive into a hole you can angle your view and see through the map. Which then allows you to see other players bases.

3.

do dogs heads go through doors while attacking?
