"Chess rules are by design, "7DTD can't crawl trough 1 block gap" is because you can't code AI to do that."

If you say TFP can't do it and TFP are writing the game then what you have said is that the zombies in TFP's game will never be able to crawl through a one block gap. Nobody ever said it was easy but then it's A*, it's not the most difficult system to use.

More to the point, when was the last time you pushed an A* algorithm beyond its original design parameters? How difficult did you find it?

Replace the word "hard" with "time-consuming" and you'll be closer to the truth. It was harder to get A* to work with 2 block gaps than it would be to get it to work with 1 block gaps. Of course, you've worked with A* before so you know this already.

Just gotta say I love the high frequency with which a statement can flicker between speculation, reality and wishful thinking here. LOL

The idea that fataal could not get pathing to work on a 1m scale (aka the most basic function of A*) is somewhere on the scale from facepalm to priceless.

Maybe between reality, their imagined reality, and their wished-for reality.

I particularly love that you can't argue with their imagined reality. After all, they control the rules of that world, and internal consistency never seems to be a requirement.
