Every Alpha has taken more and more time to Mod it to my liking....

14 a few minutes ....

15 a few hours....

16 a full week.

It is starting to look like this one is going to take me a full month. :upset:

What poll?

When was it?

Voters 0 Is that true.... nobody voted?

Maybe If We knew about it we would have.... No comments anywhere about it no e-mail went out nothing.

Maybe there was something here on the Forums IDK?

but who hangs around here past oh the release is out and the .## for the fixes until its that's it we're not gonna fix anything else or maybe next alpha it will make it in.

So most of us leave until Ohhh for a good year as that is the new Norm for your updates and we hang for a few more months like I said ...

till you all refuse to fix or do anymore.

We see video and screen shots every now and then of some new whatever your all working on for the next update.

Of course 75% we could care less about because most was never asked for. and most likely most will never actually make it into the game.

Then finally the Video of utter confusion and changes of things for no reason at all or a hidden reason that most will never know about.

Final result after that..... I come in here complain and plead to why it should and it should not be....Only to be ridiculed and bantered and negative marked to that I do not know anything.

Then the release and everyone comes in complaining about the same things I get bashed for and round and round it goes every update.

This time around I'm going to not say a word about any of it

So just hit me with the bad mark now before I change my mind because I don't think this forum website will have enough space for anyone else when I'm done.

i dont think the emojes are bugs since there was way more than 5 but each one represents a system the game

the head stone means all bugs in that system are fixed. the ghost means testing and the angle means confirmed fixed.

that would mean when all 5 are angles they can ascend to heaven. that being the live branch

If only that were true...

...when all 5 are angles...
Your thinking is that we then will have a pentangle which will make the zombies arise? Interesting.

(See, Xandyr, you just have to make clever use of their misspellings!)

even without performance gain (i'm really not sure about this btw) why bedrock should be at -57? -10 or -20 is enough to be safe from z's and build a base-57 is only a waste of space
it was relatively safe in a16.4. not completly safe. in a17, it is far from safe.

also ore veins has to have some space. if bedrock is at -10, there is no mining

in 16.4 is safe, you have to flatten the terrein and non zombie can reach you

in 17 could be safe if digging zombie are not implemented

you can make -20 there are also mountain you can dig for ore

the point is if there aren't threats undergruond you don't need a huge part of the world wasted that way

Really? Another discussion on underground threaths? Did we not have this discussion already 3 times or something during the past 1.25 years, during the development of a17? What's next.. children zombies?
nope, water and boats :D

People have been using the term "Zombie Hoard"? I figured I would have noticed that because it drives me crazy too.

OK. I "WANT" to play a game with no safe areas.
Soooo, don't build a base or weapons or farms or armour....

So does that mean you only drop them while standing on roof while brooding over the city?

as someone said, valleys can be very low. i have been myself on places, where ground is -20. so bedrock at -57 is relative. if you set it -20, then sky will be +37 higher. those are numbers only. i believe, one of devs told, map is vertically 250 (or 256) blocks. so everything between that is relative.

Wait wait, what? wolf friends? please oh please tell me how you did that, lol. Have it down to where you can have 1 follow you and help and all? maybe even heal him up by giving him food? I will definitely be looking for that mod A17, you can bet on it. Basically sounds like TFP's whole wolf pet talked about in early for A17.
Exactly, it was suggested, and that's one reason I was waiting for A17 to see what all has changed. Unfortunately I didn't dig deep enough into modding to figure out how to get as complex as having them follow you around and all of that, would be awesome though! It's pretty basic in its current form until that other stuff can be figured out, but we still thought it was cool!

It's not like it was game-breaking or anything, but if you had some zombies chasing you and needed help, finding a wolf nearby to help you out was a good idea. For the 7 day horde, not as helpful, since those are huge streams of zombies and they can only attack one at a time anyway and I didn't give them super attack powers, just super health. But if a whole pack happened to be wandering through, their help ended up being pretty awesome! A more complex system where you can level them up, improve their attack, lead them around to sort of have them guard certain areas, etc, would definitely be even awesomer though! ^n.n^

I wana tame a zombie and keep him in my house so I can recreate the ending of "Shaun of the dead"

any chance in the future we could get player made poi's that could be easily added to the rwg with a simple drag and drop into a folder without having to mess with xml files.

I have seen some awesome player made dungeons in other games

I'm excited to see the new zombie pathing more than anything else.

Giant pits are time consuming and boring.

Platform base worked the best since the zeds pathed directly to the player. I could just stand there and they'd never get to me. Of course it had to be modified for radioactive cops but, there's always a way.

I created an 8 pointed star outside of the platform that funneled zeds into 1x2x4 corridors with pressure plates and 2 stacked dart traps 1 block back to allow them past if they survived. Along with shotgun turrets on the corners, few zeds could make it to the center where they couldn't reach me anyway and it was fish in a barrel.

Most servers wouldn't allow pressure plates after a while due to the memory leak. However, it will be interesting if zeds stop pathing directly to players. Hopefully, they take a path of water or least resistance approach and if that doesn't work they start beating on surrounding blocks.

One way or another, we'll figure out the pathing shortly. Either we'll have to get those creative juices flowing or......not.

I personally don't care about what most people are complaining about. I'd just like to see intuitive zeds (no small task) and stable machinations that don't create memory leaks or fall through the world.

Because I am a writer, and this has been driving me nuts...
HOARD: (noun) a stock or store of money or valued objects, typically one that is secret or carefully guarded; or

(verb) to amass a store of money or valued objects, typically in secret.

HORDE: (noun) A large group of people. In this case, zombies who USED to be people.

If you are ever actually facing a zombie "hoard"...well...the zombies are smarter than you're giving them credit for being, and you are screwed.

So...we're facing zombie HORDES, not hoards. Unless you count the soon-to-be-diminished amount of zombie loot AFTER the bloodmoon, which could, I guess, be considered a "hoard" of sorts.
You forgot about the curious Zeds - the ‘wondering horde’ 😁

Its getting harder every day to find the useful information from this thread, lol. Maybe there should be a 'Hang out while you wait for A17' thread, as well as this 'Developer Diary: Alpha 17' lol. At least its keeping some busy.

I have to read though 4 pages a day now to find if there is a teaser pic posted by one of the 'They who have access to A17' Guys.. ;)

Now I know why our players wait for me to keep them updated..LOL..sheesh
