JOEL, Can we ever get a flickering light in the game???

It's so atmospheric, especially in old buildings.

It's also logical when:

- the fuel in the generator ends

- the generator operates at the power limit

- the powerbank is discharged

- powerbank has poor quality

- the light is old and ♥♥♥♥ed up

The new prefab light editor allows color and mode (pulse/flicker/something) to be set.
That would be VERY cool for POI's

-1 for Joshua Trees, sorry guys. I was a wildland firefighter in Arizona for 2 years (still live here) and didn't see a single Joshua Tree. Without looking it up I couldn't tell you where they are common (New Mexico maybe?), but not so much in, at least, the majority of Arizona desert. I wouldn't complain if they were added, but I'm not going to push the subject.
I drove by a forest of them last weekend going to Vegas from Phoenix. They are here just in certain areas. I would rather see Joshua trees than the snow and forest biomes if we are being accurate. Sure it does snow in some parts of AZ but not as much as the 7D2D maps have.

Seems like a lot to do for the devs. I don't think players digging underground bases is an issue, but an easier deterrent would be adding harder layers of rock the deeper you go. Forcing players to make better tools to dig straight down. Or even better adding big caves and lava like minecraft, but that would be a lot of work also.
Sounds a little like 'Mother Lode'.

Weird(but realistic) way to make tunnels harder to dig:

Stone voxels take less damage the more adjacent stone voxels are touching it. That means boulders and walls are still easy to break, but tunnels not so much. This is realistic(very rough approximation though) because materials adjacent to the material in question help dissipate the damaging compression waves caused by swung tools like pickaxes and sledges.

Hi all long time no see. I see some questions are getting answered here and there so i thought I’d give it a swing and see if I can get one answered too.(it’s a modding question please don’t maul me) :behindsofa:

1) In A17 will it be possible to:

1a) Have a selected POI spawn at chosen or knowable coordinates in RWG?

1b) Have a defined City spawn at a knowable position in RWG?

1c) Have a selected POI only spawn once in a knowable position or randomly in RWG?

If I could get an answer it would be highly appreciated because I would like to start doing some brainstorming but need to know what’s doable first. Thanks.
Spider You will have to dig back 1000+ pages, Look for a post by Ken, and the initial followup questions. I think you will be happy. THat is if you are talking about the prefab.xml in nave world folder vs rwg. :fat:

I think I saw one of the devs tell us that we would be able to edit world maps in a17. Not sure to what extent that was, but hopefully placing and moving roads, cities, specific POIs, etc. will be possible. We will see.

New feature request.

Air strike.

You build a radio and call for an air strike.

Some dude in a red biplane does a low flyby dropping sticks of dynamite while playing flight of the valkyries.

then gets too close to a tree, wing hits it, and it explodes

I stand corrected - just a few minutes of research and sure enough... there are Joshua trees in Arizona, but only in a couple very small regions, one being between Phoenix and Vegas. They only grow between elevations of 2,000 - 6,000 ft. above sea level in the high desert and the vast majority of Arizona is far below that (Phoenix hovering around 1,000). Joshua trees are more of a Nevada/California thing.

To your argument the Joshua trees make more sense than snow and forest biomes, I would definitely have to disagree. Arizona is home to the largest Pondarosa pine forest in the world. I watched a lot of it burn in the Rodeo/Chediski fire in 2002. Most of Arizona North and East of the Phoenix valley gets snow in the winter, a lot of southern Arizona as well. In fact, I have seen snowcap mountains within eyeshot of the outskirts of the Phoenix valley on several occasions AND snow in the desert around Florence/Coolage area.

I'm not against Joshua trees being added - hell, they are a type of yucca! But let's not kid ourselves at what types of vegitation/climate Arizona is mostly made up of. This is definitely an area I have to give TFP props for.

One thing I would suggest would be to make biomes elevation specific. Desert in the low country leading to grasslands in higher elevations before reaching forests and eventually snow biomes.

I'm not trying to ruffle any feathers and I have been known to be annoyingly factual at times so don't mind me. :smile-new:

Will this cotton plant ever get changed texture?!

it looks kinda cartoonish, and stand out alot
That model will be kept in A17 and another used for cotton. This is what the to-be-introduced popcorn plant looks like in A17. :jaded:

And the noise made by popping said corn instantly spawns 4 screamers right next to you.
