I just find them annoying, plus you could just run out into the middle of the lake and basically ignore zombies.

If, for example, slow swiming drained stamina, and staying afloat also slowly drained stamina, with no way to replenish it in water (drinking water and such would not help), there would only be two choices really, to drown or to swim back to land and face the zombies (with lowered stamina).

I do like the ice being in the north and desert in the south. It makes more sense.
It's only a difference of 8km of latitude. That's negligible in terms of climactic variation; unless it's in a mountainous region... but then it would primarily be due to altitude differences.

Edit: It's great sign by any standard! Rush 2112 has been my favorite album since way back when I was a teen. I just noticed this post is the first one on page 2112.

I wouldn't want to spoil the surprise! (read: I have actual work to do =P)

Well, there are wedge corners, cubes with separately paintable chair rails and ummm things?
I actually mean with things like can we make a Circular Dome like stuff? I know new rails, stair look might be out there. :) .

Exactly. I call it A18 because 18 is bigger than 17. Amazing. MM can call it golden monkey for all I care.
Ah, you didn't get the memo. It is called "The Release formerly know as A18" now. TFP will also use a special symbol to denote it. :smile-new:

Communication is the key and when the communication stops - there is an underlying reason. I love this game as much as the next player.
They gave a reason why communication is less for A17 development. Proposed features were seen by many players as promised features. So now communication is much less than it previously was. Probably there are a few more reasons (for example that communication costs a lot of time).

Also communication never stopped. Just look at how often Roland, Fataal and Gazz post in the forum. And no, you can't make a rule that only MM communication is real communication :cocksure:

1 year passed and we are still waiting for the experimental version of A17, come on the fun pimps, i know you can do it better!
Everytime someone complains about the length of time, they hold release another 12 hours. So i think it was a week ago,we added about 4900000 days just in that week alone. Keep it up guys! :p

I'm curious whether steam actually require such "security" when you post your game on their store. It's not like it actually works, it's pretty trivial to get a cracked copy of damn near every game in the steam library from the pirate bay.
No, they don't require it. I'm pretty sure that Factorio for example can be started independently of steam.

It is trivial to get a cracked copy of any game (with the small exception of a few AAA games directly after release and server-dependent games).

Steam DRM is included in so many games that cracking it would be highest priority for any cracker even if it were as good as Denuvo (the only DRM at the moment that seems to hold up for a few weeks against the crackers). So there is really no reason for valve to put much effort into it, it would be just burning money in an endless battle with the combined cracker force. And Denuvo is individually tailored to any game using it, steam DRM can't do this.

The second one is a capture of the New Game start menu where you can select the world you wish to play in and name your save. You can see Roboco County there in the window which means this is the map that will load. Navezgane is in the rotation as well as a couple other maps I've already created but not yet explored. You can have multiple different saved games using the same map.
But can you also have different maps with the same save game? I.e. is it possible to visit a different map with an already advanced character?

No, that’s not possible— at least at this time.

In the last few maps I’ve generated all the larger cities have basically come out like the old hub cities. I think TFP wants cities to be dangerous places. I spawned near one and on the night of Day 1 there was a glowing green cop walking around in the streets below the building where I was hiding.
nice

Roland, I am concerned. Why is the RWG changing drastically at every alpha?

I am not talking about the pregen stuff. I am talking about changes at the core algorithm of generation. Now the biomes are generated completely differently. They have different shapes, sizes (this is not the first time that change that).. The roads are different again (this is not the first time that change that, either)..The placement of cities is different.. why does it seem like with each alpha they throw away what they did previously?

Improvements are a concern? Help me understand.

I'm pretty sure they float now.
They float in A17? Because I am still playing A16 and trust me, they do not float in 16.. I have died too many times trying to get to the ones at the bottom of the lakes on my games. :miserable:

They haven't thrown it away, they've built upon it. What you are seeing is the development process in action. Get a feature working, test it, and then improve it. This is especially important in something like randomly generated terrain where a small change can have a big impact.

I know they don't float in A16 but I know fataal has been doing some work on water physics and I'm pretty sure I remember him saying they float now. If anyone knows different please feel free to correct me.

There will be smaller groupings if POIs in the other biomes but cities are going to be areas of greater difficulty. What’s the downside to that?
I already can hear the cries in response to your question: "But the noobs will die so much just trying to loot on Day 1 and they will rage quit!"

It sounds pretty cool to me. I'm not a fan of the ever-present fog in the wasteland biome, but I'll get used to it.

I really like this modification, cities were way too easy.

It could be called either, but regardless I know from internal discussions we want more variety of stuff, as in more content.
So why am I getting a reputation notification when I asked a legitimate question on whether it will be another Alpha or BETA?

I came here to clarify it because Silenthunder on Steam said emphatically we were going to BETA according to MM's last Video.

With the problem with the Unity 2018 update really changed things up & I have taken SGD classes & it can't be both.

Is it going to be Alpha 18 or BETA, I did not come here to dispute the video or the mod on Steam, I came to ask for Clarification.

If you guys don't know yet then that's fine but I feel Players should have a good idea on what the New Time Line is due to the Unity Update.

That's all I was asking for was clarification so we are all on the same page & I am not demanding a Release or anything else.

I ask legitimate questions & I get Chastised for it so can we all get on the same page please.
