Looks like we might need a new legend for this map generator. Honestly it would really help if the legend would actually appear on the generator screen so we know what the various colors mean.Hmm, I don't see wasteland areas... sure hope thats not the dark yellow surrounding large cities
That's something I miss about earlier alphas. We had huge-ass river and no lakes. I absolutely loved it.Man i wish I can do that, but as Khaine will probably agree with its hard to ignore for us when there are some who wish to flaunt that exploit as a means of overcoming a challenge we are trying to present.
For me the large water always seemed like wasted real estate. A town or a nice flat field for building can be in that spot. And with water mechanics being an absolute joke there's no need to see huge bodies of it. Now give me flowing water and a raft and ill happily welcome huge rivers and lakes with joy.
I think everyone's reading the map wrong. I'd say that's pavement around the buildings in town.I'm don't care for *every* city being a wasteland. There should be some that are not wastelands (assuming the color around the cities on that map are wasteland and aren't just a color indicating POI placement since it appears to be surrounding *all* the POI locations).
Also how is the change in biomes going to affect the ore mining i.e. certain biomes favoring certain minerals since 2 biomes have been removed?
You could use the "Diving"-perk mod as a solution. Its in de mod section.Gazz and MM and anyone else, is there ANY way to convince the airdrop pilots to STOP dropping the boxes in the deepest part of the lakes (bodies of water) or to have a way to find scuba gear to get to it when they do? I always end up with my base being at least a 'day's' walk from any water so I don't have to practically drown every time I try to get to a box.. very disheartening... :upset:

Well, we know TFP are on Build 128 now :eagerness:Speaking of giving offense I know that some of you feel offended when the news goes out to twitter first. So here's a couple of A17 screenshots that:
A) Have nothing to do with lighting....at all
and
B) Are exclusive to these forums. Twitter followers will have to find their way here for a change...
This first one is a capture of an 8000x8000 random world I created using the world generator. The generator is still a WIP but you can see that it creates a square map. The seed is absolute truth but will be hidden. The only name that will show up for this map is "Roboco County". If someone puts Roboco County in for the seed it will not generate the same map.
World Generator
The second one is a capture of the New Game start menu where you can select the world you wish to play in and name your save. You can see Roboco County there in the window which means this is the map that will load. Navezgane is in the rotation as well as a couple other maps I've already created but not yet explored. You can have multiple different saved games using the same map.

Thank you, Roland. Should be interesting. Can't wait to try.Speaking of giving offense I know that some of you feel offended when the news goes out to twitter first. So here's a couple of A17 screenshots that:
Snip...
Holy moly, didn't even notice that until now!*thats a build every 2,9 days for the past year*
Something to let the peepz, that think TFP are a lazy bunch who abandonned the game, think about![]()
Cheers
I do like the ice being in the north and desert in the south. It makes more sense.Speaking of giving offense I know that some of you feel offended when the news goes out to twitter first. So here's a couple of A17 screenshots that:

Which is why there needs to be a color legend on screen on the map generator/previewer. A brand new player isn't going to know what any of those colors mean. I know putting a legend up can be done as modders have done so in previous alphas, but something like that really shouldn't have to require a mod being put in.I think everyone's reading the map wrong. I may be wrong though![]()
Honestly, I didn't use the map previewer for more than a year after I started playing. Do many new players use it?Which why there needs to be a color legend on screen on the map generator/previewer. Only if you live in the northern hemisphere...I do like the ice being in the north and desert in the south. It makes more sense.
Honestly, I don't know if new players use the previewer or not. It wasn't put in until long after I started playing the game. But there still needs to be a legend.Honestly, I didn't use the map previewer for more than a year after I started playing. Do many new players use it?
That definitely is not an argument against a legend. I still sometimes have to consult the legend that I wrote down.
