And then 50 maps of just water so we can raft over to Europe once faatal gets the raft implemented.
OOOH! Then you would need to ether build a big raft (ship?) and stock it with a lot of supplies. Or have a system like The Raft game which is simple yet very fun!

If I could be in charge of creating a DLC my first would be a map pack of 50 maps of just water. My second would be 30 PvP friendly base prefabs that are all flagged as quest locations so they can be reset.

Well, when you can travel from one map to another (skipping areas with no POI's?) then griefing will have less of an impact.
Didn't someone say that or do I just hope for an infinite map system?
I think you are just hopeful. :sour:

Edit: if there is a problem thinking how to do that, the computer can keep only the seed (and maybe the chunks that are modified) of each map explored so a MP co op could get really fun with out overwhelming the server.
And if you are the only one on a map, then it could be completely created on your machine, with only updates being pushed to the server.

Edit 2: I would also like a system where if you travel north there will be cooler temperatures, so you could end up with an entire map of snow! :)
And eventually start heading south.

Edit 3: You could have something for east and west (travel enough east and you hit New York city! West enough and you hit the ocean!)
I think you would hit the ocean in both directions. Unless you are far enough north or south that you have land all the way around (depending on current levels of global warming/cooling).

You can be can't you? Some mods are big enough to be DLC.

I agree, and in most good mp servers, they have plenty of areas you are not allowed to build... mostly buildings!!! so that everyone has chances to loot. It would be nice to have an idea so everyone knows what kind of building to stay away from if they do decide to allow players to build in possible quest area... but that is also on us. I like to leave most of those alone to loot then build elsewhere or out a little. Still fun to barricade a building and fight.
I can see a scenario where a player hangs on to his quest paper until he purposely finds a prefab on that quest that has a player based inside. He reads the quest, resets the prefab and effectively renders that player loot and base free. New server rules incoming. Lol.

I realised that people who assume that developers are bumbling fools who have no idea how the game works would not believe it anyway. So carry on!
Exactly this, i find it funny and somehow worrying how many people come up with various scenarios about how will i get x now that y is removed or this seems a bad idea because of this. It's safe to assume that devs had long talks on those subjects and figured out solutions before sharing them with us in the first place.

I couldn't agree more! Why, look at the Bay of Pigs operation to overthrow Fidel Castro.

Lots of meetings with long talks,

they figure out a solution

and success!

***Someday, humanity will be perfect... or perfectly dead. Until then, open, intellegent discussions are the way to go.

It’s a non issue. If you travel to the POi and it’s your base you will just cancel the quest rather than activate the rally marker in front of the POI.
What do you mean, "activate the rally marker in front of the POI"?

I've a horrible feeling I know what you mean, but I want to get confirmation before leaping to possibly unwarranted conclusions.

I dont see anything to be outraged over.
I doubt all POI's will have quests attached.

The reset happens if you trigger/activate the associated quest/marker. (atleast how I read it)

Dont build in quest POI's.

See, easy.
yeah, but immersion! majix fixes a poi?! :D

I like that idea, but im just sayin.. but it sounds immersion breaking.

Well, it’s a placeholder exclamation mark right now. But if you want to let your horrible feeling bubble out into a rant about WIP features just like everyone else because you think whatever gets released in A17 experimental is the final intended version...well then I think you’ll fit in just fine around here.

Or just automatically boot up Raft for those who have it! I mean... why bother when there already is a great game for it ;)

I considered talking about the prefab reset but then I realised that people who assume that developers are bumbling fools who have no idea how the game works would not believe it anyway. So carry on!
As much as i hate a lot of the changes for A17, and though i play pvp, i agree with that system... Too often in A16 sleepers would destroy POIs on high difficulty level, which made looting a female dog late game on populated servers. And in those dungeon style POIs which don't have much space it'd be even worse, so reseting is the only way.

I just wish sleepers had a code in them to NOT destroy lootable containers unless there was no alternative...

1 game i was lvl 10 or something and ran into a rad cop in a POI, no way to take him out so i run, but he woke up, and destroyed a lot of the place, it's honestly quite stupid...

Will zombie loot containers be physics-immune, like how the player's death drop backpack can fall and roll around unharmed? An annoying aspect of fighting large groups of zombies (usually on blood moons, but often enough with any group) has always been that after one zombie corpse in the pile turns into a gore block, the rest on that tile are doomed to fall on it and explode into nothingness, wasting your loot/scavenging XP.

1. No, since many chunks are loaded around a player.2. 16x16

3. It usually covers several chunks.

4. It usually covers several chunks.

5. Chunk load range depends on settings and is usually 5-12 from player.
So from your answers I may assume that a large base with serveral players is not possible without spawning zombies inside? Is there no way this can be fixed? Cause that's why I love this game so much. Loot, setup a new community, fight. Lots of work needs to be done to survive a zombie apocalyps.

I want to edit the game's language files and make it in Turkish.

How can I access language files?

i hope it is possible with the new loot system that the loot eventually drops between Ironbars so you make an floor from iron bars and then shoot the zombies and the loot falls in the collecting room.

The dungeon POI’s are really not that conducive to being made into a base and as far as I know those are the locations for the quests rather than the classic buildings. There are so many better more defensible locations for turning a POI into a base if you want to go that route.

However, I’m pretty sure all quests are for level designed POIs so just avoid building in those and you should be fine.
So there will still be classic, non-level-designed POIs. I know that question's been asked, but I don't think it was actually answered before. Can you say if there will be classic and level designed versions of the same POI?
