actually MM didnt say there is video on labor day , he said what should he do on it " he is confused ", which states by meaning he would be making some , the column for a second i thought its real one .

People are obsessed with fishing in games... In POE it's a whole meta, all in it's own...

Anyone ever fished in real life?

It really is hard to find a more boring pastime. The only good thing about it is, that fish are somewhat tasty. Though I like to buy them at the shop. Just so much less time wasted that way :)

 
In last week's video, Madmole said: "I'll probably be back next weekend with another video"; which means maybe, and not for sure or I promise.

It's labor day weekend (in the U.S. and Canada) so my guess is he deserves a break like everyone else; but, if a video does show up, then I'll be happier than surprised, or is that the other way around??? :)

Labor Day weekend is when people work twice as hard all weekend to be thankful for all their labor they have.

 
Make some triggers in editor so we can add our music :) .

That would be cool! I always wanted that "Air Raid Siren" from Silent Hill to replace that typical Scream you hear before the 7th Day Horde.

They would have to make a mini game out of it if they did it though because boring ass fishing like in WoW would suck so much ass.
Boring? How can peacefully sitting by a lake or stream with a string dangling in the water when at any moment a silent dog or bear horde is sure to shred you "boring"?

Right away, the graphics are noticeably better than they ever were. They have been improving a bit with every alphas, but now it's a major leap for sure. Why not improve the graphics while working on the bugs and making the game playable again eh? It may not be a graphical powerhouse, but it still looks more realistic than Minecraft for sure haha. I really like the new trees, the old ones looked like placeholders. Expandable storage is very welcome as well. It's something you usually strive for in games with so much inventory management. Slots with memory of what you had is a sweet addition too, because it always took me a while to sort everything after picking up my backpack again. I remember zombies dropped bags as well in that A16 video (which I did prefer to looting corpses).

Best vehicule ever. Beats Gyrocopter any day haha.

I ask for it because I have done it in arma 2 and 3. They make it easy to make some awesome cut scenes.

 
Okay, people. I know we play fast and loose here, and I love the enthusiasm, but this is still not a chat room. Please don’t make posts just to increase the post count - it’s spam. There is plenty to read without drumming up conversation for its own sake. Also remember posts must be in English.
I got to thank you for that post, because all this off topic chit-chat and multiple posts was really starting to kill me. I simply cannot believe there has been 100+ pages of mostly that since that last video was posted. I understand diary threads tend to turn into chat threads but it's just ridiculous now. If you're not even going to address directly what the pimps are posting maybe you could take your chat in some other thread. I just had to quote this post and highlight it with a little rant.

Not sure how old you are but that is a pretty big opinion...One of my favorite things to do on vacation is fish. I'm not from the generation where you have to be looking at a phone every 3 seconds either, so maybe that matters?

I don't necessarily like fishing in games, but I would in 7DTD if they made recipes that were worth the time, it all just depends for me, I love taking the time on longer/harder quests to get something really worthwhile..I saw where they were going to work on a boat, so I wasn't sure what direction it was heading, but it could make for a lot of cool ideas...

Does this count as off topic dead mole? :)

Not really. The simulated zombies wouldn't be stopped by a wall or traps or terrain obstacles. Simulating that would mean you really need to spawn the zombies instead of just adjusting a vector. And that is resource-heavy again.

A steep cliff in an inactive chunk would stop a horde... unless the virtual zombies just float up so it would require pathing to make sense.
As soon as players learn that far out defenses do stop zombies... will zombies be able to destroy them?

Or is a base with a long wall in inactive chunks a perfect defense because zombies cannot properly act and destroy it?

How do you prevent zombies from spawning inside a base when the base covers all the active chunks?

That's a pretty big can of worms there and nothing substantial will change in A17.
It's good to know it won't change for A17, but I respectfully disagree with your assessment. You don't have to calculate anything. A steep cliff, a wall... nothing would stop these hordes while they are virtual. Nothing would need to stop them, because the player isn't there to see how the zombies are getting past obstacles. The assumption would be they went around, over, or otherwise found a way.

Before anyone dismisses that as a step backwards, bear in mind that right now, you'll get hordes of zombies spawning with a steep cliff to their backs. One can already ask how the zombies got past it or any other obstacle, so that shouldn't be a knock against the idea. Also remember that (except for the 'distant zombies' idea) players aren't watching these hordes track across the map; they would only be aware of the hordes they encounter or have encountered, that have turned into 'real' zombies.

The people that build the Great Wall of Navezgane or other megastructures are the same ones that gripe about zombies randomly trashing their work. So I think zombies passing through when you can't see them would actually be more appreciated, even if this feature doesn't simultaneously solve the existing 'how'd they get through' problem.

manace is correct fishing is or was a big thing. i mean one of the most popular N64 games called zelda ocarina of time fishing was a big thing.

it could actually be a big thing once again. either way. i feel like fishing could be a big thing in the game regardless. and if you dont' want to make it to where you constantly cast a rod you can always make traps and fishing nets. as to make passive fishing for the non fishers but not as bountiful as net fishing. honestly i think thats a good middle ground

I remembered that in

Madmole mentioned that they are working on underwater stuff, but it's not yet ready to show it.
Underwater flora and fauna? Maybe someday they will add fishing.
