Oh look, a dead horse! I think I will beat on it!

I am old school. I have beta tested several games. This kickstart/Early Access fad has thrown everything off. Am I an alpha tester? I have access to alpha builds, but I have no structured format to report bugs or give feedback; only these forums where I can be labelled a fan boy or a cry baby. I have played 1200+ hours, so I got my money's worth; including some mods (most noteworthy: Ravenhearst). Are you able to add NDAs at this point? I ask, because I think it is time to add more actual testers. People that aren't going to give you a thumbs down on steam because of bugs, and people that will help with the constant balance issues that come up with every radical alpha build.

Great. So we've had recent discussions about the words "they", "is", and "if".
I like "pulchritude" so please consider that one.
I would say that 7DTD is pulchritudinous (and Roland, I guess, but that's more Guppy's department).

I was disgusted at AMD for pushing mutli core for zero reason when we really need a competitor for the average user.

coudl you imagine how much cheaper per mhz a low core amd processor would be to intel?
Did they have a choice? Their manufacturers can't just create 5ghz-able dies on a whim, but the internal guys at AMD that presented the threadripper in a meeting showed a way to make money without reaching the ghz-crown.

At least the second part is purportedly true. The first part I can only guess at, but whenever a new shrink comes, Intel or AMD can only slowly add faster CPUs because higher frequencies are only possible after many optimisation rounds at the factories.

I prolly missed it, but I'm guessing Lockpicking is not in A17 or has been scrapped?
Yes, but nitpicking and nosepicking are definitely in.

There is actually on this forum an official bug report thread for each new version, and they have a format and required game setup(i.e. complete wipe and zero mods) for reporting bugs as reliably as possible. Not that half the people in there follow those requests of course. And of course the same bugs get reported many times since everybody thinks their version of it might have some new information -- and the few that do search will soon discover how unlikely it is people will use the same exact terms to describe a bug. So it gets rather a bit cluttered. And there's not much point in reporting bugs for a 300-day-old version right before the new one comes out so the thread isn't very active now.

Of course, buying early access means just getting the game to play with early, no requirement of customer bug testing and no promise beyond the presumed intent of the developers to actually get any further updates. So it's not quite the same as being an official tester. Lots of people seem to think that they are official members of the team and they have a right to demand their particular bugs fixed immediately and to control the direction of the future releases that they are owed. But that's just down to their inability to understand what they bought. Feedback is appreciated but not required, as are future updates.

A few people(probably as many as TFP feels they need) are able to convince the team to bring them on as official testers(with NDAs and all) because of consistent quality feedback and reports, or maybe just buying Roland dinner a few times, but the rest of us are just here for the ride.

There has been some talk of what to do about glue since we won't have the bone.

Did some research. Well, we have pine trees, we have coal and we have campfires. We have fabric and can even make a grill. So, when you cut down a tree, get resin, put it into a cloth bag and put into boiling water. Skim off the top the resin, the bag will hold the impurities. Take the grill and make it a fine mesh, strain the resin, strain it again, strain it again until it is almost clear. Add, very small amounts, of charcoal to it to thicken it up and turn it black. Don't add too much, you can add more but you can't take away. Put into a jar and when needed, heat and use what is wanted.

you can also make adhesive from plants, but didn't research that. Something called the internet, easy to research so maybe someone in the dev team will check and see how it was made by Native Americans and put that into the game. It can be a crafting skill. That is where I got most of my recipe from.

Can't you make glue from animal hide as well? Obviously we're going to get bones from animals but what if we could make it out of hides also?

Glue doesn't come from someone's skin, it comes from their bones. Where do you think gelatin comes from? Gelatin is the base of glue.

If you aren't mixing up the meaning of "prediction" and "promise" explain what "not famous for respecting" means in this context?
When the weatherman says it's gonna rain, but it doesn't. That is a wrong prediction. Even if he never promised, it is a wrong prediction.

I wonder if we get a weatherman and a man who noone knows what his job is, will it affect a person`s choise to ask "whats the time" and who will he choose. Just a simple queston. Who would you believe ?

I think I get your message.. I second having a weatherman in 7DTD, I don't want to have to leave my base if the desert is hot or there is rain, those ponchos are bugged :) On a less serious note one of my and my friends who I play with absolute immersion breaker was being either too hot or too cold every other minute in the same Biome, especially going 1 floor up or down, any changes to this with all the updates?

i don't know about the rest of your example, but Schweppes Tonic Water in italian traslate as Schweppes Tonic Water
Just light hearted banter.

Some of them were in an advertising mangers book, that he let me read, when i was a tech at UPS.

I came across that page with the others, recently while researching a marketing idea. The book was more, a technical manual, these were a cumulation nearly 15 years later on a google site.

Thats why i left the name of the submitter on that one. I didnt read that one in the book.

What you experience is a bit of lack of temperature balance between and in biomes. It is yet to be worked on.

Or there may be some fixes already done, we will see :)

Just use 'starch' which the game already has the ingredients for.

Corn and Potatoes.

Recipe: (Campfire with pot)

Corn + jar of water (murky or clean) = glue.

Potato + jar of water (murky or clean) = glue.

Looting every zombie after a horde night could add up.
The problem is, we don't see 7 day or wandering hordes as delivery guys. =)

What of noticeable value to a zombie apocalypse survivor do you have in your pockets right now? =P
I know I am way behind, but I have to take a crack at this... I have a cell phone with a flashlight, 87% charge and keys to my truck with an auto start... can our zombies have things like this in their pockets? I would LOVE that lol... just being a wiseass... I get your point. Oh, I also have a can of dip for those addicts :)

Whenever I am away from home, I have keys some of which have vehicle remotes. I have three flashlights, two small and a larger more powerful one. I have a handkerchief, loose change, a multitool and a small screwdriver with interchangable bits. A pen, a small tape measure and a few other small items that would possibly help in a survival operation. I carry the tools and flash lights because they have come in handy far too many times to ever be without them. One of the small flashlights is bullet shaped and puts out light like a small lantern so it goes every way except where you hold the base, only the tip like a bullet gives out the light.
