"Cannot run in any direction but forwards. Rapid backpedaling is gone. 8/26/18"

what?!?!?, why was that changed, so forward is the only direction, side stepping is gone aswell?

it wasn't side stepping. it was sprint stepping. though if you sprint while sidestepping, it would be cool if you did a little dodge anim of a sidestep instead of just sprinting sideways.

That. Is. Exactly. What. ok i'm done typing like a weird person. But THAT is exactly what is wrong with endgame.
Is there still stuff to do? Yes plenty, but nothing that has great meaning or the same fulfilling feeling as when you work towards endgame.

Not sure if the devs don't want us to do things at endgame? Or simply have no time for it? I hate games that once you FINALLY reach that endgoal with all the sweet skills, mega fireball, super duper invisibility etc. The game ends. Like dude wtf, I just got here. Let me reign some terror please.

Let me repair the radar dome, and upon completion everyone gets a shared map.

Spawn in zombie hives that I have to find and destroy or they will constantly keep spawning the worst of the worst to GPS track me.

Something of value. I seriously don't understand why these things aren't in yet.
Because they take time. We have lots of ideas. Everyone has ideas. That is the easy part. We talked about some fun stuff today (vultures, bosses, loot), but I was like priorities. Bugs need to get fixed if we want A17 out there.

More meaningful end game would be nice and hopefully we get that. I wouldn't mind if the behemoth or bandits showed up and nuked my base and made me run away and start again fresh in a new location, but with my skills intact, so I could see how fast I could rebuild my life.

Yes, for zombies. They are actually having seeing problems indoors due to low light, but I can see just fine. One of the next bugs/flaws I'll be looking at.
I'm not sure I would call that a bug, the zeds do have partially rotted eyes after all, so they are going to be seeing that well.

And your the one who is comical, the pvp player base is less than 1% of our customer base. Maybe its 40% of the vocal minority community, but its literally nothing, all our players are friends playing coop with friends or single player on private servers.
+ 5 on this. I have a couple hundred hours on the game, and play on a private-family server with literally no pvp. We play on insane, and want to all survive together. I've bought the game for myself, and 4 others. (Hence the +5) Me, my Fiancee, brother, sister and her friend don't really care for PVP. Especially not in 7 Days. If we want PVP, we will go play something else. This isn't Rust. Please keep building this game to be what you aim for it to be. If my other brothers ever get decent computers, I have no doubts in my mind I'd be buying another few copies. This game is outstanding.

(The other 4 are in the 'silent' group, who don't visit these forums but all have several hundred hours playtime.)

The remarks of "to be honest" isn't a lie, it more of I feel I can speak freely and not have to be careful in how it is worded. Going shopping with a friend and she pulls out a dress and goes what do you think? You want to curl your lip and go you would look horrible in it. Instead you go, not bad, but I think you should look some more before you decide. There is polite and a safe way, then there is flat out blunt, not holding anything back. So, no, doesn't mean they are liars, just at times want to be more polite in their wording.

Now, if he is a politician, that is a whole other can of worms.
Not how I roll. As my wife will tell you, you ask my opinion on something like that dress, you are going to get it.

I'm talking practically blind. Like I need to be 5 meters in front of their face. That is a bug.

Oh, and don't get me started on the frequency of floor "fall trap" blocks. As an occasional way to keep you honest or scare you in-game they are great; overuse is just plain annoying based on watching Joel's videos. I am not interested in playing "Zombie Apocalype Funhouse". Make it random with just enough "GOTCHA!" stuff and moments to keep me on edge, not so much I am frustrated with the experience.
I couldn't agree more with this. Watching that latest MM video it was a floor block breaking out 3-4 times in every room he went in to. That's gonna get real annoyiing really quick. Neat added thing to think about but please TFP, Balance!

I am sooo happy! Thank you so much Prisma! You are a sweetheart...and really there are LOTS of sweethearts here. I am so glad to be among such awesome people. Power to the Panties!
sorry, can't post it, commando all the way

aww...this does not put a smile upon my face, but you are still a sweetheart! ;)

Thanks and you are a very positive person in whom others would do well to emulate. :)
I have just enough crazy to make me dangerous, as Capone said, you get more with a kind word and a gun, than just a kind word alone. ;) I am pretty sure its not my fault that I am positive, I think its a reaction to the game and the lovely people I see on here! :) *HUGS*

Maybe you just made the 7D2D Part 2 opening scene!

You keep what skills and perks you got, but bandits came and sold you into slavery, shipped you to... New York city! Most of the city is zombies, but a small enclave is still human. Your job: Defend the rich people there and do everything they ask... with a smile. :)

Where?

I've wanted to try pvp on here, but I don't find it very good for casual players apart from having a set down time for friends, etc. I think the constant of the world progressing and other players progressing while I'm off a week cause of work and life makes "real" pvp difficult. It's not like most pvp games which are "round/match" based and typically paired with same lvl or skill lvl, zone levels that protect lower lvl players, or the "phase" type worlds where you are in one "instance" of a place and other lvl groups in another. I would just end up in the server at like day 50 even if I started at day 1, my place gone cause others found it by now or now up against people with good guns, armor, bases, etc. So it now turns into me avoiding everything instead of actually participating in the pvp. That puts me off pvp for this game. But yeah, I love the mp coop aspect because there are soooooo few games now that have that, and those that do, are much less developed than their pvp aspects. Now that I think about it, I've slowly been playing games less and less than in my childhood 20 years ago because of the lack of good sp, couch coop, or even straight up mp coop games. If somehow that could be implemented into this game (pvp side mentioned above) or something to help casual pvp players, I'd be more inclined to play it or care for it.

Excited for a17, cant wait. My friends are ready for it, and we have been getting more that want to play with how much we talk about it and especially because it is mp coop.

1, I think that there aren't enough good single player games and even less good multiplayer pve coop games. You can get pvp anywhere, fortnite rust, ark etc. Our game is in its own space because its the only game like it. If we were just a pvp game we'd be a worse version of something else. Why be number 349 when you can be number 1? I have nothing against pvp, I think I have 500 hours in rust. I always wanted to make a game where the threat to survive is so hard humans have no choice but to band together. I look forward to making our pvp awesome, its just not a high priority right now.
I don't think our game has the proper net code and optimizations to currently be a good pvp game. Hopefully as we get closer to gold pvp can be improved. As you must know, 7 days is a very ambitious game. We need to fulfill our promises not your hopes. Once the KS goals are done and we're gold, we'll probably do some post gold pvp stuff. We have some new things planned that are going to make pvp much more viable I can't talk about now.
See, listen Madmole.

What you're not getting is that you've already made a good PvP game, you just don't realize it.

This game's PvP is fun because it's 7 Days and I can PvP. Rust is not the same. Ark is not the same. I hate those games. I do like the freedom of having a Minecraft style game where I have to actively fight both AI and other players. I play PUBG. I don't play Fortnite but I'm familiar with it. I'm still here waiting to play A17 PvP. There's something so uniquely magical about the way 7 Days PvP plays that other games simply don't or can't do.

The complexity of base design required against other human players makes planning and building bases more fun and meaningful for me compared to just designing a zombie slaughterhouse. Knowing I can rig up a trap and find the backpack to prove that someone fell for it (quite literally) is a type of fun I can't have anywhere else. Being able to stalk a trail of empty containers to get an idea for where someone traveled and if a base might be in the area is an unmatched feeling. I have in some cases invested 6 to 10 hours just searching for a particular player's base, and the payoff when you finally find it is something you just don't get in other games. Not to mention you have to plan a method of assault and you get to explore the mind of another architect. There is no depth in the building system in Rust or Ark. You either have really good stuff or you don't. Design just doesn't matter as much with stupid prefab sections. And I love to work on community projects - yes in PvP - and have people find them and get inspired and maybe talk about them in chat. It's like a microcosm of an MMORPG every time I log in for 7 Days PvP.

If you tried to be PUBG or Fortnite or Rust, you're right, you'd be a worse version of an already good game. But that's the beauty of it - you don't have to! You fill a very specific PvP niche already and you need to make almost no significant changes to the game for the PvPers to be happy. In fact, if you tried too hard the PvPers might not even like your new implementation! It's like unboxing a cat toy and the cat just plays with the box. PvPers are cats. We play with what we have, even if it's simple.

The game is good. There is a great thread outlining the main desires of PvP players. https://7daystodie.com/forums/showthread.php?59401-quot-The-PvP-Update-quot Most of the things are very minor changes. I would even simplify the list to a few very simple points:

-Add more functionality / options to land claim blocks

-Increase sound radii to encourage players to hunt each other

-Smaller maps to encourage conflict

-Reduce weapon damage significantly to prevent random one-shot kills

-Add hacking prevention measures, hackers pinpointing your location, your bedroll, or flying and teleporting around with infinite rapid dynamite hands instantly destroying weeks of hard work is not fun

-Add a way either for new players to catch up to some sort of "server average" or set some sort of ultimate goal that a single player (or group) can achieve that would result in a win, a wipe, and a reset. Maybe that wouldn't be the right implementation but there needs to be a way to breathe new life into PvP constantly. Co-op can live forever by its very nature, but PvP is like a blossoming cherry tree - very ephemeral. It needs help to stop one player or group from establishing such dominance that it destroys a server. That or admins will just have to take matters into their own hands and wipe after every 500-1000 days or so.

Honestly other than that, PvP is fine as it is. I don't even ask anything to be changed to benefit PvP at the detriment of PvE. I just ask that the PvP community not be lumped in with bloom when you guys are having a disrespect war with each other.

I said "Some people may have a backpack on with supplies they were carrying to bug out and then died and became a zombie, but not many.", which is what you said. You (and I) are the 1%. I am a survival minded person, but most are not. I have white willow bark in capsule form. Plantain, which I have a lot in my yard in edible and helps digestion. Most people barely have a week of food in their house. Cities would be a death trap. Try getting out of Chicago during the apocalypse. They might get out, but likely as a member of a zombie horde.
The no loot on zombies is stupid. Well done on ruining the zombie lore.

Already stated if I cant mod in a 200 slot backpack I will cease playing. Some stuff on the vid was cool for me it looks like the game going backwards. Graphics looked crap.
