What of noticeable value to a zombie apocalypse survivor do you have in your pockets right now? =P

What im gathering is that we are going to be constantly ignored regardless, and for that, this game just flops out big time for me. Enough so i'm just going to stop advertising it to my competitive friends. Catering is not what I want; but design flaws of prolonged heavy load map use. Its just ridiculous that brass still isnt craftable [google how brass is made, its not hard; we make steel for godsake.] OR corn glue, or a myriad of other things. But instead of listening, the dearth of yes men take up arms because "no! not the evil pvpers!"
Hello there. I would like to state for the record that I am big into coop, and pve as single player or with friends. However I do not see PVPers as evil or bad. I feel like inclusiveness is the best approach and I feel so badly that you feel exiled in this. I personally support your understandable frustrations, but I do know the PVE will benefit from what has been done here. So I say I like it because indeed it will help me. It doesn't make us all mindless yes men. You are asking for people to understand your situation and be able to express it while simultaneously ridiculing or sweeping those with different views into a generalization of mindless drones. That is making huge assumptions. I am not saying you haven't been attacked or that you are the only one doing this. But remember that this understanding and openness really needs to work both ways. This is a statement for everyone. I don't like people to be attacked or have to defend themselves and this includes you. I want you to be heard and understood as well.

For sure I'm not making any claims there. In fact I could probably figure out myself how many people are playing SP. I'm sure the majority of people play SP. That's not what I was getting at. I just don't want my community to be made to feel extremely small and insignificant because when I hop on and see almost half of the active servers with PvP tags it's like, I can plainly see we're not so small to be made to feel like some worthless speck in the community.
If I remember correctly, MM gave that 1% figure in reply to a relatively demanding and confrontational post. And he traded back with a reply that wasn't coated in sugar. If someone on the street is polite to you, you probably won't point out that he smells and has an alcohol problem, but if not ...

he's been posting furiously on the past few pages... and posting that he's older?

Yep that's some furious posting boys, but hey, don't be letting reality or spin get in the way of a good story :)

The problem with TFP and PvP has 2 key elements that are nothing to do with the many true and correct things you point out.
1. Madmole is anti pvp - After years of watching him post i still don't know why, but he is, his ''vision'' is blinkered by what he wants to design but more importantly 'how' he wants people to play. Now sure, its his game and we have to respect that but you really would think that at some point he would wake up and think ''all the most succesfully MP games in the world include or are soley based on PVP (enter various MP PVP games here, its a big list). So why not stop actively dissing PVP players and just support it? More people would play, for longer, revenue would increase and very importantly....
When you run your own company, in whatever field, I expect you to do what all the other most successful people are doing. Avoid any innovation. Avoid doing anything different or groundbreaking. Make sure that your work is just a copy of something else. People who do something different or don't go with the flow never succeed...

a. 4 new guns are introduced, result? both pve and pvp players are happy because now they have more to do, collect, use. Any balance issues with the new guns (if there are any) won't affect pve players as they THEY DONT SHOOT EACH OTHERb. 3 new armour sets are introduced, result? both pve and pvp players are happy because now they have more to do, collect, use. Any balance issues with the new armours (if there are any) won't affect pve players as they THEY DONT SHOOT EACH OTHER and both sets of players get the advantages of the new armour vs the zombies
You've overlooked the time needed to balance those guns and armor for the pvp crowd. We all know that if TFP just tossed those things in, the pvp crowd would pop up complaining about how over-/under-powered such-and-such is. Which...

Ill take a quick note on this post right here; 15minutes of coding to add some bullet resistance to armor; 15 MINUTES. THATS WHAT IT'D TAKE ME AND IM RUSTY AS A PROGRAMMER. Why does vanilla not have this for the pvper aspect of the game; oh right, because we dont matter. So just noting, hell yeah im jaded over it. Its not like it even affects solo player, yet you claim "oh just go mod it in" So all the love of "inclusiveness" but one of us show up and ask for VERY LITTLE THINGS as far as coding goes; and we get ♥♥♥♥ on.
...leads me here. I'll let a dev come on here and tell you how easily a "little, 15 minute code" can mess up all kinds of other things.

The jeep can currently carry two people. A driver and a passenger.
However, the passenger will experience horrible de-sync issues and often be in the jeep, next to the jeep, trailing behind the jeep, and it is such a bad buggy jittery mess that after trying it once "just to see" you will just wait until faatal fixes it. He is hoping to fix it by a 17.x update if possible.

So really just a driver for now.
Roland,

Thanks for a factual and more importantly, context driven response. Sounds like jeep version 1 will be like the mini bike was initially although I suspect its going to work well for lan/coop or small player number servers. Me and my buddy have wanted this for years, very excited by it.

Now can we get a .50 cal for the roof?

Is it because you got old, or because you are out of practice? It takes about 3 weeks to get razor sharp playing it 8 hours a day then I'm pretty good again. Even in my old degraded form I'm still way faster than most young dudes in their prime, but I always had super human twitch reflexes. Its true reflexes degrade, but somehow I'm stronger than ever and play guitar better now than in my 20's. If you practice, you get better at anything. I quit playing competitive multiplayer because the stress of it makes me hot flash. My ears turn beat red and stay that way for hours afterwards and its pretty uncomfortable. But I'm super competitive so I take getting fragged like very seriously, so as soon as I'm in it, my pulse is racing and its like a weird high. I used to play quake 8 hours a day, 16 hours on weekends I loved it so much. Now I just play skyrim because single player games don't stress me out. 7 Days stresses me out sometimes, but its fun.
Hell putting on headphones to make videos does it too I need a pair of ice pack head phones lol.
Id say one of the main things is your reflexes degrade when you get older... The only person i can see this not affecting is Shroud lol, he has got god aim and reflexes.

Roland,
Apologies if this has been answered, I know its been asked a ton but I missed the response if there was one and now A17 is so close this should be easy.

Simple question, how many people can the jeep carry, 1,2,3 or 4.

Simple answer appreciated.
One.

8 of which were in the last hour...

Anyway, he wasn't making a comparative. How does your comparison undermine his point?

There may be some antagonism on the part of the community who likes the current priorities of the development team and who have seen game after game after game become all about PvP and don't want that to happen to this one....but there is no antagonism by TFP. They don't know you or any other player who enjoys PvP and they don't wish you any ill will. They don't even hate PvP itself.

They have priorities. It is how they create their to do list. It doesn't matter whether something takes 15 minutes. There are 1000 things they could do that just take 15 minutes. So they don't do those things that aren't aligned with their priorities.

Without any antagonism they made the design choice a long time ago to focus on single player and small group Co-op PVE. It's not that YOU don't matter. It's that some things that are important to PvP quality of life are not important on their list of priorities. It doesn't mean they won't ever get to it. As Bloom pointed out some things could benefit both playstyles--but...not a priority right now.

Brass: Craftable

Bullet resistance: a few lines of code, 15mins of time.

^^^ These two right here have been for so long been asked for in the pvper side of things its not even funny.

Glue: Craftable

Paper: Craftable

^^^ these two just make sense; Corn fills this logically.

Take what you will from this, Its been suggested for many alphas on the top two, and I don't expect a damn thing from it.

@ MidnightRook

I appreciate that honestly, quelled alittle bit of my frustration at being unheard since alpha 11, token gesture i'm aware. I'll be giving a17 a shot either way in vanilla pvp setting, just to see how this ends up. A few recipes and a few lines of code would go a HELL of a long way as far as pvpers are concerned.

I certainly don't want to instigate any fights. I wanted, seriously to check to make sure you were ok, and hopefully, not upset. Frequency of post doesn't really make it furious. I am concerned for your anxiety and general well-being. As I mentioned a few posts up, I don't like people attacking or having to defend themselves. I am sorry if I have said anything to upset you.

That's the one thing I have a problem with...which is why I think placing and giving the bedroll a NO SPAWN area would help. As you place another one in a new area the No Spawn is lifted from the first one placed. It should be 15x15 at least, but maybe 30 upwards , for taller buildings.
MTFGA
But... that is how the bedroll works. Either I’m misunderstanding what you’re saying, or you’re misunderstanding how spawning works.

Convince faatal. (Tell him he could probably beat you easily in a PvP deathmatch)

Don't bother, I'm quite aware that if done improperly sure it can mess up all kinds of things; but seeing as bullets and armor don't even recognize each other; its pretty simple fix, I will note that in my experimentations arrows DO get less damage against armor. Which tells me arrows are seen as a melee attack as far as armor is concerned. bullets are straight armor piercing currently.

You didnt but its very nice of you to ask Rook and no need to apologise:)
