almost basically the same as in the a16.4 settings. just looks different now and a couple more choices.
server visibility (as Roland and I have stated before) are... "not listed, friends only, public (default)"

max players are: "1 player, 2 player, 4 players, 8 players (default), 16 players" (16 is also in the a16.4 as i show in screen shot link)

Wait, there is a friends only option? I haven't played SP in a while so is this new?

 
Nothing about this update looks fun. All this work over the past year is just one big waste of time. You would have been better off calling Alpha 17 7 Days to Die 2, cause this is now a brand new game. One I would have happily not paid for. I won't be playing this vanilla by a long shot. I will wait until the talented modders reverse, if that is even possible, these changes and do what it seems the actual devs of the game cannot do.
You haven't even played it yet how can you judge something you haven't even interacted with yet, from what I have seen the game has improved in every aspect but I won't know until I play it, also this is an Alpha so things are fluid and if some of the changes they have made suck they will change them.

The only big question I have is can you harvest the zombie corpses for bones and fat.
And rotten flesh. Fertilizer is going to be even harder now unless something has been changed like the time it takes and the amount and such.

As shown in the latest video from A17, zombies have no loot, there's no indication that they are dead meaning you might want to keep hitting just to be safe, but when you do after they are already dead (which you never really know for sure), they simply disappear, you can guess...

 
after reading all the posts from the devs and testers , Roland ,fataal and kin . i would say that i dont understand why every one still complaining after all the explanations and " its experimental " words , and i feel really sad about Roland :) , he was just thrown into here to deal with us ;)

and i am amazed of the amount of the new faces that poped up to complain , i didnt see them during the video hype posts ,heheheeh

but Roland , let me take something over you , ahm, if you dont like A17 changes , then dont update , you still have A16.4 mods and more time to A17,x and maybe A18 :) , personally i like what is put to me ;) , great new Alpha and waiting the spider meme .

very hyped to play in 10 days, is it a good dead line? , heheheh

NOPE , stop saying we dont know if the zombie is dead , because i know if the zombie is dead or not just..... , just ..... , turn on the sound please lol

 
Loot drops from zombies may be bugged. After watching the last video of Madmole killing a bunch of zombies, not once did I see a loot drop.

After a hoard night I get lots of loot from kills, even some good stuff. Sometimes finding sixty or so round of 9mm ammo and a hand gun. But that's after perks like scavenging.
Loot drops is obviously a balancing issue they can always increase drop rates.

i have a question about lootable container

this thing is connected to loot abundance?

with 200% every container is lootable and with 25% only one every eight?

my only concern are the missing bones from zombie, the recipies for paper or glue has changed?

p.s. why til yesterday pvpers whine about the duping bug and today whine about the vanishing corpse?

dogs, voltures and zombie bears provide plenty of rotten flesh

and you can make fertilizer whit turds as well

 
Luckily, as a business, they can choose to consult or not, whomever they feel.
you're either going to like it, mod it, or move on.

I agree with that. It's kind of immersion breaking. Luring them out and away from the building should be a viable strategy.

 
Thanks for watching the video! There was just so much to talk about and not enough time to explain properly everything. Its like we switched to unity 2018 and kind of had some broken ass graphics so there was video blackout for a while. Things are starting to look presentable again so and a lot of systems have been coming online during the video blackout so now there is just like so much new stuff to cover, I crammed 2 months of videos into one, but things will be explained as time goes on.

I ask this because unless at a distance killing solely with a bow, if you use melee you more

than likely will destroybody on last hit, like MM was doing.

Yes I know, I said even harder. How often do you come by these and how much do you get just from these alone? So goes back to what I said even harder didn't say not possible.

To the rest complaining about not being consulted or MM and TFP being out of touch: You do realize that they are making the game that they want to make? That's what most successful creative people do. If you don't like their product, then I guess you get to look elsewhere for the product that you want. (Or as Roland says, Mod it.)

It's amazing to see so many people actively fighting against the idea of community feedback.

He said during the video that they need to tweak the body HP so it doesn't disappear as easily when hit. Hopefully a non issue.

 
Air drops actually used to float in an earlier Alpha. I believe it was considered a bug at the time and they were made to sink again. But I felt it was entirely reasonable and better gameplay for them to float the way they did. The alternative often means a dive to the bottom that's painfully slow, literally: you can't survive it unless you max out your athletics skill and/or eat a pile of health packs so as to not drown before you surface. Just swimming out to the coordinates is often arduous enough, so...
+1 for floating air drop crates!
About swimming, as of today we can't swim down. You just sink slowly. Not moving or furiously swimming down results in the same speed of descent. And Yeah, that makes retrieving some crates impossible.

Reminds me of a time when I shot a dear on a steep hill next to a lake, only to watch it tumble down 15 blocks deep underwater. It was day one and I needed the hide. I drowned twice, each time bringing my bag a bit closer to the surface.

 
Make zombies not drop loot is in my top 5 and I'm not alone so speak for yourself and stop assuming for everyone. We all have different wants and needs and not all of them will be hit. Thats life. It is THEIR game not yours. Let them create their vision. We can sort it out at a later time because they are GRACIOUS enough to keep the modding possibilities 100 percent open to everyone.
That said the only thing I had issue with is the fast respawning sleepers. Way faster than now and now is a bug that needed fixing. But the old quote "In Pimps We Trust" stands tried and true for me. That video was 100 percent breathtaking and exhilarating and I loved every single thing I saw in it.

You're the first person I've seen on the entire forums that wanted that change, if indeed you're being honest. This constant procession of "it's their game, their vision, to hell with your feedback" posts really and truly amazes me. I've never in my life seen a community go into such a stockholm syndrome mode. Wow.

aghhhh, read the previous posts please? , that is not a CHANGE its A BUG!!!! can you read devs posts before running into " i hate that " ?
