Does anyone know if the fertilizer in the game contains any Phosphates? if so we should keep our gardens far from lakes/rivers/streams so the fish don't get harmed.

oh wait...we don't have fish!

 
The world is 30 million blocks across. A block is one square meter. 30,000,000 meters is 30,000 km. 30,000*30.000 is 900,000,000, so the Minecraft world is nine hundred million square kilometers.

That's 30,000km radius or 60,000km diameter.

The actual size is 3,600,000,000 square kilometres.

Dammit! I'm pretty sure the only obstacle to me beating that is writing an unlimited version of a floating point number to use in libnoise... tempting... so very tempting...

Try making a backup copy of a16 before updating to a17 experimental. Put an icon for your a16 copy on your desktop and open the game through that icon when you want to join the server. Then when you want to play a17, get out of the game and open the version you have in Steam. It works. I have several different full installations of the game saved on my PC and I just have to make sure I click on the icon for the right version when I'm opening the game.

Then when you want to play a17, get out of the game and open the version you have in Steam. It works. I have a question, yesterday I was gaming on the server I run with while talking with the host of the server, he mentioned that he was not going to up date the server till 17 became stable. I'm good with that, but what I'm wondering is if I up date to the a17e can I still bounce back to 16 to join up on the server?

Someone correct me of i am wrong but i think you could just jump back to A16.4 stable to play on the server and if you want A17 jump into the experimental branch. It is all in the beta tab of the properties of 7dtd on Steam

 
okay so i saw some train comments a little while back.

i've put a lot of thought into the whole tracks and trains debate. and this is what i came to. Trains would be in a sense useless. with water and alot of terrain to bypass it would be hard to keep and maintain fuel and build and trains would be a complicated thing to build in a survival setting so that would throw in kind of immersion breaking.

however, i do believe train track carts should be a thing. only for the simple reason of mining and collecting resources. above ground for trees, and below ground for ore. you would essentially be able to transfer lots of ore and resources back to your base quicker without having to travel a large distance mine and go back when your full because we all know the hardest part about collecting resources is the time consumption. even Madmole admitted to that so train carts would speed up the process.

I could see a series of train tracks sprawling from your underground base going in all different directions riding a train cart to where you need to go and start mining and when you were done and your cart is all full you ride it back. thats about all i could envision being in this game.

Ok, I've just got a mad idea... What if world gen will allow to make use google maps as a layout? Real roads placement, POI similarity, etc...

 
Hey man :) I agree with you!Cities in RWG always looked in a grid to me and they generation algorithm could use some improvements.

The difficult part is probably to arrange the cities in a way that doesn't clash with the environment, for examples not on mountains, but in valleys.

Id be happy with a firehouse in every town/city along with a police station/post office just like in real life. Still waiting on firefighter zombies...

Sounds good actually, but you go convert 510.1 million km² into a smaller chunks. :)

That's kinda how it'll work, if navezgane is any indication (which it is).

Same here.. Heard something about minimum forum posts to get rid of that.
