I don't check into the forums that often but like everyone else I need to know if there has been any new communication about A17's release. I don't have time to read through the entire forum.

Just feeling like a 8 year old on Christmas eve. I primarily only play 7DTD. A17 will keep me occupied for the next 11 months. Which also keeps me from buying games I don't play. Not to say other games I have tried since A16 release are bad but I only started playing a few other games as something to do until A17 drops.

The servers I have playing on since 2014 have been modded. I haven't played vanilla 7DTD since the first few months of 2014. It seems like a lot of things being added to A17 was done on many of the modded servers first......On modded servers nothing beats having teleportation especially for people like me that are increasingly having less time to play games. Gun mods, old news...Maybe not to the degree the Fun Pimps are implementing. I only play on servers that have 30 plus players, teleportation, in game currency, Bandits enabled in the wasteland, World size 15+, in game commands like base protect and community spawn towns.

I will continue to play A16. Mostly just running for days exploring the map. I want to start grinding asap on A17.

Been following this thread for a while now, scrolling through the friendly banter and demands and insults looking for news. I haven't found anything on the state of the water in the upcoming A17 release. There has been some news on water reflection and such but nothing that I can find about flowing water. Has any work been done on this or are we still dealing with jello that has a 3 block flow range?

State of in game water is most often liquid, but i believe you can also find water in its gaseous form... :smile-new:

Maybe you got my intent wrong. My intent was not to criticize TFP or say that they should get a pr firm, that is just what I did. My intent was to say having someone, in my case a pr firm, handle the ugly posts and Roland is handling it for the fun pimps in a similar manner. If I had a way with words as he has, maybe I wouldn't need a pr firm at all.....I just don't have that. Roland has been more than patient with the ugly posts, rarely having them get him angry....as evidenced by his 15 rewrites of a post above. Some were suggesting to respond in kind to the posters of those comments, I'm suggesting you handle it with tact as Roland has attempted and which the pr firm does for me....don't give them any more reason to spew the garbage.

I just don't get it and maybe I'm just beyond the need for more nuance. They've always said "It's done, when it's done." How is that not having tact? whats a PR firm really going to do?

The complainers will complain no matter who writes it. More or different words doesn't change it. It's the most honest straightforward answer, with no hidden meaning behind it (At least I never took it as having any). Dev's visit the forums, pretty regularly imo, answers questions that they can answer when time permits. <shrug>

It's just my opinion that there's no better better PR then interacting with the actual dev's that are making the game.. Even if they don't answer all the questions everyone has ever asked. Guess I'm old school, in that I like getting the info directly from the creators when they have the time.

If you read my post in a non accusatory way, I tried to make it pretty innocuous. Sorry if it came across with that type of slant.

this is like arguing 60 percent is a pass, I should do as good as i possibly can with that right? Simple growth doesn't = success. TFP have been successful, there is no denying that, but your arugements are pretty inccorect, saying "just stating knowns" doesn't make them knowns, it makes it a statement from you. This is how fake news is spread. they are not knowns.
I've seen many of my friends drop off the radar with this game and move on since A16, and it's sad. Simple news updates to steam would literally reach 90 percent of the audience. Not everyone goes to forums for everything, I only frequent this one as it's my favorite game.

There are rabid people who don't understand estimates and deadlines yes, and they are mouthy. Ignore them, you'll never please that person, if you did updates fast, they'd ask for more content.

Ignoring your core fans and taking on a "side project" attitude doesn't help, having proper P.R, a proper social media presence is key, and necessary in this business climate. Why WOULDN'T you do that for the growth.

there is nothing wrong with criticizing the length and the way communication is done. Simply hating on things because it's not fast enough, and ignoring information presented, is though, and for that I don't blame TFP for moving all the comments.

If you would like to comapre games that came out around the same time, trying to do similar things in different environments, is ark, ark had a huge media presence, in a very very overdone category they are WAY more successful than 7 days. 7 days could be where Ark is now, it's literally the only good vox game out there aside from minecraft, it has no competition, where Ark has TONS

With that media presense they were able to avoid a whole meltdown during the lawsuit times and stay in touch with fans and modders alike. That made the game grow big time.

TL;DR not everyone is going to come to you, you're the customer, they are the business. It is up to the business to reach out to the customer, not the customer. If my cable goes down, its nice to know from a tweet or email from my provider, instead of having to root throuh 2700 pages of nonsense.

p.s *edit. Just to add, if there wasn't tons of people upset about delays, there wouldn't be people passionate about the game, and that says volumes for the potential here.

I agree with some of the things you say but some of it is making me shake my head as well.

Basing things off of Sales and their past performance is a known and not "Fake News" now matter how you want to slice it.

Keep making your vids. I still watch and enjoy them them but the "Fake News" thing was a bit much..

Zombie spike interaction is weird ATM. They treat them as solid blocks and will walk around them or jump over if that is cheaper, but jumping on top makes them slow fall into the spike, which makes them appear stuck and they attack the spikes, but take damage since they are on them. It just looks odd as they slowly fall into and then slowly walk on top of spikes.

I know this is 8 hours late, but I assume this will change at some point right?

She's a zombie, you shoot zombies in the game. My take on it is you are putting them out of a unending hell. Hence, Novocaine. Maybe it was too involved, sorry.

I was watching I am Legend, and first 15 minute of movie looks like it is trailer of 7DTD. When I first start playing this game year ago, I had already watch the movie and I told my brother it is loosely based on that movie. And in that movie Zombie even set a Trap, so yeah they can .

I thought the point of Beta was to let me play and report bugs. not watch the so called progress of what I am supposed to be beta testing. question have they fixed the water problem of even considered it. this seems like the issues they should be working on and let me play and report issues. just think of how much more would get done if they listened to the players. to tell you the truth i haven't played in months. ready to move on and accept that i just gave my money away. thanks for nothing new and nothing new in the future. beta my ass they will fix what they want and release what they want.
