I'm really not sure what this rant is in reference to, but man did you mangle the English language.
i was reading after my first post and every post that someone had a different opinion of Roland would go off on how their point does not matter or not a valid point. So bad that I raged stopped reading and had to give a Really Roland. And for me messing up the english language I so apoligize for my ignorance and mental and physical problems that make speaking, talking, writing, thinking extremely difficult and offended some.

Also SP are not asking to be given an open roadmap for skills, so I wish MP would stop assuming everything about how we are feeling, The game is not fun in SP for me now. Period. Alpha after Alpha great features, great concept but improving MP took alittle away from SP every alpha. There is just too much restriction on SP. Playing with the Hubby sure its fun we divy up jobs and still don't get all the perks. ( Have lots of room for skill improvements if I had skill points.) But after sleepers and the better hoards and other awesome features. SP became almost impossible, travelling areas to get working science stations or workbench, 6 different bases were crazy. And with zeds respawning even in bases, impossible.
I have added mods like valmod, war of the walkers and starvation to improve things. But SP now is still a bust.
Umm, I play sp and mp both and I am not sure that your experience is indicative of everyone else.

I, for example, love my underground tunnels. I can tunnel across the entire Navezgane map in just a few hours after day seven or so, when I get my steel tools.

If you don't like underground tunnels to get you from place to place, simply walk. No need to run, you can outwalk any zombie anytime you like, so take a nice stroll.

Zeds will respawn in poi's if you don't put down a bedroll. Build a base on stilts and no zeds will spawn in them.

There are also benches, concrete mixers, etc. in each and every trader. Some work, some don't. Doesn't matter, as by day seven on sp you'll have most of these, if drops are good to you.

Otherwise, I'm not sure what you're getting at. The game isn't being made as a multiplayer game. It is being tested as a single player game, as each and every video from TFP staff is a sp map. MP is really the bust, not sp, as you can still do the item glitch in mp, but no longer in sp.

Anyway, cheers!

I am a big tunnel girl, and underground base. with a second base on stilts for hoard night. There is no way I would be done all that by day 7 and would not use a steel pickaxe that early the stamina drain is insane with steel tool items until you maxed out your perks which I never finish by 7 days. thats awesome you can, and very envious your obviously skilled in this game. I have 2600 hours in game time I am somewhat slower than most . Thanks for all your info, (knew it all since i enjoy researching my favorite games reading others POV) and your insight will in deed help others and its now in one easy spot lol

The one feature I did see yesterday that would improve things is being able to switch between MP and SP which will probally make some of the problems easier for me. But I would still HAVE to put it in MP in beginning and end games inorder to survive where I used to be able too in SP with proper preparations Alphas ago.

Roland often refers to the vision of TFP. And that vision is how its gonna be for some things. You can have your opinion on EVERYTHING but Roland has the same right (even more) to put a discussion in the corner of "This is how TFP envision things. That might not match your playstyle but nothing you can do about it." No need to feel attacked by that at all.

Cheers

I hope they have proper animations for these "wake up hits" and don't just magically hit me without swinging.
The upper body can play a separate anim from lower, so they do their normal attack anim.

I can't speak to the new AI and pathing, but if you are referring to A16 dogs, I have to disagree. I have never seen mobs of any kind get lower than 1 block, let alone 50 blocks of stone. They are usually at the surface playing ring around the rosy.
Currently in A17 all human zombies will dig down if you are in a general area below them and they don't have a path to reach you.

So does that apply to the wandering horde or just if theyre hunting you? Just wanna make sure i can mine around at night and not have a pretty big surprise

Just discovered and fixed another one a few minutes ago:

Fixed null error in player melee raycast if attack and then enter a vehicle.

It applies to any zombie regardless of how they were spawned. It is part of the normal logic to get to their target. They would have to sense you first, so if you are quiet down in a cave they should not be bothering you. Have a party. Make some noise. You might get zombies visiting from above.

Ok, cool

Best news....ever..
I never understood why people hate the idea that you're moderately safe living underground. Some people who get little play time because of real world obligations (ahem) like being able to get to work mining or whatever, underground, and be moderately safe. Being constantly bugged by a random zombie who, somehow, detected you 10ft underground and is now digging downwards towards you is annoying in my opinion. If you don't like being safe underground, don't live underground. I'm sure there will be fine tuning, but ruining the safety of being underground just for the sake of it is a faux pas in my opinion.

Short of setting off C4, there's very little noise or smell or whatever that would escape even 5ft of dirt. Just sayin'.

Wow... Zombies will detect you underground in A17? That sounds pretty bad... I mean, maybe the Bloodmoon Horde should do this, yes. They have magical abilities on those nights, so whatever. But, normal zombies shouldn't be able to hear or smell anything underground (further than 5-10 feet atleast).

Hopefully it is an adjustable setting.

Also... RELEASE THE KRAKEN!

I'm not sure if you seriously missed the point of what I was saying or if you're trying to be a troll.

I couldn't agree more. Make other, more realistic problems for living underground such as malnutrition, black lung- whatever. But making it less safe by making zombies into miners seems cheap. Again, it's all guesswork until it's released in A17 so who knows what tweaking it will have... But, if I'm 20ft underground mining, virtually all of that sound is being absorbed by the earth around me and short of a seismic sensor zombie, you're not going to have a clue what's going on if you're topside.

If you are under ground and they can't see you or smell you or hear you how do they know to dig down to attack you?

This is a rhetorical question because they can't.

This is why there needs to be penalties for having an under ground base.

not a troll if a zombie detect you it should dig down plus i hardly think a zombie will find u at bedrock other than that you are still safe.
