@Roland.In the event that I get a quest that hijacks a POI and spawns a boss zombie and a random player searches that POI before me, does that POI volume spawn the boss zombie for the other player or does the POI run a check on players entering it's proximity (to see if the player is the quest receiver) before it spawns the boss zombie?

Personally I'd prefer if other players could encounter and steal someone else's quest zombies.

If it's possible that another player does steal my quest zombies, what happens? Do I fail the quest? Do I get quest complete if the objective was extermination?
I don’t know. That would be an excellent question for Prime whenever he does another Q&A.

I haven’t been to more than 2 or 3. I’m waiting to do a proper playthrough until A17 stable so I mostly experiment or test new additions to the changelog. I don’t want to spoil too much for myself and get a bunch of POIs memorized before I play them realistically.

I have enjoyed all I have played through. Yesterday I tried out Random Gen and found a city in the burnt forest with tons of bombed out buildings closely packed together. It was very eerie standing at the top of one and looking out over the city during the nighttime. I felt utterly alone. I started thinking about connecting all the roof tops with bridges and having a network of rooftops be my base which is something I’ve never done before.

 
I agree on the fact that limiting the skills and perks, you can get, isn't good. TFP justified this by saying that it forces the player to make choices. Do I want to play like this? Or do I want to play like that? Here is why I think that this is wrong.
In Skyrim, one of the most famous games in the world, you can maximize everything, there is no restriction. I played more than one game as different characters, one for example as an archer, one mage, one warrior.. also, guess what, I played one as a mixture of everything, and I enjoyed it. I won't be able to do this in A17 (unless I mod it, which I will do). So they will not force us in any more varied gameplay. They will just limit our choices.

Having no cap allows you to play as A, B or C, or everything. Having a cap only allows you to play as A, B or C. You are not enhancing gameplay, you are restricting it.
I'm not sure I understand your analogy to Skyrim. Aren't you arguing against yourself? The point being in playing as different style characters will be achieved through capping. Instead of being the best archer/mage/whatevs simutaneously you would have to strike a more realistic balance.

Having no cap allows you to play as everything. I think that if you self-nerf yourself into being an "archer" even though you have maxed rifles and shotguns is just lame. Far less appealing than the game forcing me to either know shotguns or rifles or bows.

I've been hoping for specialization and capped skills for a long time. I think it will be great especially for multiplayer.

that sounds really really nice something i would do :p cant wait for alpha 17 to be released i hope that will happen before the new battlefield v comes out :) and before no mans sky is fixed because the bugs are making it hard to play and very frustrating.

One of my favorite things to do! Pro tip: make sure to limit access to the rooftops from the POIs where you don't have a bedroll.

 
I'll hold off on forming any opinions on the new skill system until I actually get a chance to see it in action by playing it myself.

 
Don't understand how people can defend having the ability to max just about everything. Your choices in the end don't ever matter and you/everyone else who decides to stick to a server will be the same. You will be hard to kill, having an easy time which completely negates the survival aspect. Didn't people complain that lategame was too easy? Having a specialized class will help with that, for you will have strengths (which could be better than the equivalents in A16 since they have redone perks) and weaknesses. You will have to base your playthrough/gameplay around your strengths which can lead to some interesting results and playstyles. Instead of everyone becoming some near unstoppable zombie death machine by the end, which gets very boring. I know for a fact people have complained about that and have restarted games for that reason.

 
REALLY ROLAND!?!, Why is everyone elses opinion wrong and only yours matters. I've read one after another of you telling people why there opinion is wrong and no one else can't have a valid point. And for me not being a computer kind of person to go in and fix xmail or programs or whatever has nothing to do with people using cd-rom omg maybe they like using discs. I don't!!! but their opinion is valid for whatever reason they use it.

The whole reason I keep shut and usually only read is because i've been verbally attached almost every post i've ever made just because I have a different view or told that my opinion also doesn't matter.

uhhhh you took a Common Sense pill didnt you? do you have more so we can spread some around :)

i will admit it and this doesnt reveal anything... i was against some changes as well but i have since changed my mind. sometimes/most of the time.... we are creatures of habit and some habits are hard to break. we must keep up with changes and the game is and will move forward so lets enjoy it. :)

but to be fair... some people will not accept changes. :)

I'm really not sure what this rant is in reference to, but man did you mangle the English language.

 
Also SP are not asking to be given an open roadmap for skills, so I wish MP would stop assuming everything about how we are feeling, The game is not fun in SP for me now. Period. Alpha after Alpha great features, great concept but improving MP took alittle away from SP every alpha. There is just too much restriction on SP. Playing with the Hubby sure its fun we divy up jobs and still don't get all the perks. ( Have lots of room for skill improvements if I had skill points.) But after sleepers and the better hoards and other awesome features. SP became almost impossible, travelling areas to get working science stations or workbench, 6 different bases were crazy. And with zeds respawning even in bases, impossible.

I have added mods like valmod, war of the walkers and starvation to improve things. But SP now is still a bust.
