a mobile base would be cool and all, but it would have so many cons....like in sp you could just avoid everything. then in pvp you can stash your base and raid someone indefinitely. I think it's a cool idea, but it can go wrong too
Not that your idea is bad, Vlad. But it is a tower defence game where nomad style will, as you say give the opportunity to avoid the bad guys. This is not why we are here. We are here to fight.

I do agree to a point. Tower defense is a part of the game if you make it part of the game and seems to be your mode of playstyle. The natural human reaction is fight or flight and both are possible in the game - especially if you have a vehicle. And flight doesn't mean for good... It could be used to regroup and fight on "your" ground, not theirs. They want the element of surprise and as a nomad player, the best way to take away that element is it find the best suitable ground to fight according to your play style. That is why I love this game. If you use wit, you can fight on your terms no matter what that means.

Edit-

My point being, this is only a tower defense game if you want it to be. There are many different play styles that could make it non-tower defense. This is why this game should be ranked better than most games out there. Every play style you can think of would be effective in this game if implementend correctly.

I read there a lot about recipes and different recipes to the same thing so i am curious, is searching in recipes stil making lags? Or looking in forge while melting materials/crafting tiny things (nails etc.)?

Why not make the Jeep Solar Powered? require a solar cell and a couple batteries in place of gas? fast battery drain at night and medium drain in the rain(less than sunny conditions). this would disable the vehicle as an easy horde runner, and make things exciting while swapping batteries on horde night.
When you drive M.O.L.E and hear the typical e-car sound... EEEEEEEEEEEE

Please no... that sounds so wrong ^^

I like the work station in the truck idea, like a utility truck or a repair van. but they are known to be gas hogs so, won't last all night for hordes, just part way

so, build a fighting cell, fight part way through horde night until they rip it apart, then if you have to, get in the vehicle and ride. done that on the minibike already

I came up with a question regarding the new health-bar and stamina-bar. I see the regeneration-rate is displayed on the bar, affected by hunger and what not, but what about the actual values of your health and stamina? Can we see them somewhere? Because that would be a big thing IMHO, if one would have to guess their actual health and stamina..

with a terrible experimental? what does that even mean lol oh you mean bugs isn't that why call experimental ? to find it and fix it till its stable?
oh did you know the game still in alpha?

second if it get delayed so what that mean the dev are working on it be patience like every one ells and enjoy what you have or hey play something ells until alpha 17 is out ;)

in another note To the Dev thank you for your hard work.
I'm hoping it's not buggy to the point of not being able to find other bugs :smile-new:

Well, to sum up some peoples response to that, I bring you this:

The Lone Ranger and Tonto were surrounded by the entire Indian nations of 50,000 warriors...

Lone Ranger: "Well, Tonto it looks like we will died a slow and painful death".

Tonto: "What do you mean, 'we'... white man".

:)

this one million percent.

sometimes i like to take the 7 day iteration on on a crossroads (where i have cleared the trash bags and tyres and stones) with a pistol only. well maybe the magnum as well for some assertion of will on the nasties...

sometimes i like to entice them against my spikes and churn them into oblivion

sometimes i like to use the stilt base with iron bar floor to execute them in an efficient and orderly manner to maximise the loot.

i built a pit from surface to bedrock 50x50 at least 70 deep - that took forever! and the basic premise didnt quite work !!

cant imagine running away as its too much fun to go balls in and mow them down

i suppose the point of my ramble is that i agree with cplcritter in that you can do it how you want

brilliant!

but you should have to reconcile yourself that you have to take them on somehow somtime

it is called 7 days to die after all

not hide every 7 days

he7d doesnt look as good as 7dtd even at the abbreviated level

post script

playing today. got a broken leg being stupid - long way from home. tooooo slow walking home - day 2 so minibike a pipe dream unless i am lucky which i havent been so far. wandering horde appears off to the right. sweet - chance of glue or duct tape for a splint. 150 hard earned pistol rounds later... no effing splint. still, it was fun :-)

got 3 out of 6 treasures so far so game is shaping up just fine. got 4 maps out of one western style shotgun sleepers. awesome drops!

you know, when diablo3 drops a legendary/unique/whatever and there is a beam of brown/green light that streams to heaven, thats a buzz

imagine a z that drops and a similar indication occurs, wouldnt you feel an urge to get there real quick to mop it up before the stacking/popping gore blocks ♥♥♥♥ it up for you?

im sure that would increase the blood pressure...

Ugh, started playing a bit more on my newer RNG map while I wait it out until A17. On night 29 and was doing some building to my base when a massive running horde came by and slightly off target. Had my mining helmet lantern on and they buzzed right by my base - one hitting a spike and kept moving in the same direction. Shot at one with an AK in the hopes of catching some attention for a reaction requiring defence, but not a single thought of, "hmmm, Nioise?!?! brains!!!!" and they just kept chugging past me. I'll admit, I'm using Valmod for the first time so maybe that has something to do with it.
@fataal - in this scenario, does the AI do a better job in A-17 of recognizing a disturbance in their normal routine of, "drrrr heading North, gotta head North, nothing getting in my way of heading North drrrr, get out of my way, sir your brains are no good in this horde" Now I'm not a modder or an IT guy, but I understand the debug screen(?) - (F1) "wandering horde" and "released from control" (or something to that effect). The release from horde took place inbetween their spawn point and at least 100 yrds (guesstimate) passed my location.
I had the same thing happen to me a lot of times in the game but it's not the only game that this happens.

I remember playing this game and found a clip of it.

I think the main character gives a hint as to were all the zombies are going? ;)

I'm thinking if and when you decide to bug out on the horde, you have to build a ramp for the MOLE. Climb in with all your good gear and jump the wall with the blood moon and lots of lightning in the background. (Que electric guitar.)

As far as bandits go, Roland told me many many pages back that they will not make it for A17.

I can't find the post, at this moment. But I'm pretty sure we will not have bandits in A17 - which really, truly, sucks!

Good luck with that----all we have ever saw of the bus was a picture of a picture.
